Coralee M. Pierce
Coralee M. Pierce, 92, of Charlotte, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003.
Mrs. Pierce was born Dec. 23, 1910 in Tilbury East, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Florence (Campbell) Simpson. She was a resident of Jackson for 35 years, until 1974. She was involved in various art groups and she and her husband owned Pierce Hardware in Jackson for many years. Mrs. Pierce was a teacher in the Jackson Public Schools from 1956 until her retirement in 1971.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Charles) Zwick of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Duane (Cynthia) Zwick of Charlotte, Kristina Zwick of Lansing and Eric (Stephanie) Zwick of Houseton, Texas; and one great-grandchild, Caden Zwick of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank H. Pierce in 1979.
Graveside services were held Oct. 28 at Highland Cemetery in Brooklyn, Mich. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home of Charlotte.
Helen J. Plew
Helen Jean Plew, 76, of Charlotte, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003 at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing.
Mrs. Plew was born June 26, 1926 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Tom and Anna Dzioba. She was a retired clerical worker for Midwest Bridge Construction Co. and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving is her husband, Jerry Plew of Charlotte.
No funeral services were held. Arrangements were by Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Allison J. Polhamus
Allison Jean Polhamus, age 80, of Charlotte, died peacefully July, 23, 2003.
A lifelong resident of Charlotte, she was born Aug. 28, 1922 in Ann Arbor. An avid cook, she enjoyed sharing her homemade goodies with family and friends. Her lifelong passion was playing bingo, particularly at the Fraternal Order of Eages Aerie 3352, where she was a lifetime member. She also enjoyed gardening and everyone admired her beautiful flower displays. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hale McDaniel and Grace Novis McDaniel.
She is survived by one sister, Virginia (Maynard) Ritter of Alma; four children, Gary (Sue) Crews of Charlotte, Sandra (Wes) Miller of Charlotte, Alan (Judy) Crews of Holt, and Elizabeth (Paul) Forsberg of Lansing; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 26 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte. Interment was at Maple Hille Cemetery in Charlotte.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association; envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Leo Poskey
Leo Poskey, 81, of Potterville, died March 28, 2003.
Mr. Poskey was born Jan. 1, 1922 in Lansing, the son of John and Anna (Schaulas) Poskey. He was a farmer, retired from Oldsmobile after 33 years, and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran with the 97th Division.
He is survived by his wife, Alta May (Faulkner) Poskey; sister, Minnie Grihorash of Dearborn Heights; step-sister, Mary Taylor of Redford; step-brother, Henry Lukas of Lake Leelanau; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held April 1 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Rev. Becky Morrison officiating. Interment was at West Windsor Cemetery in Windsor Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Potterville United Methodist Church or Hospice House of Mid Michigan. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Cecil C. Powers
Cecil C. Powers, age 80, of Charlotte, died at his home Saturday Nov. 22, 2003.
Mr. Powers was born July 31, 1923 in Bellevue, the son of Zina Clare and Irene Delven (Harrison) Powers. He served with the U.S. Army, Company E., 26th Infantry, 1st Division, Company E, during World War II. Cecil fought in both the Battle of the Bulge and Huertgen Forest, earning two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He worked in residential construction and he was a farmer. He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Purple Heart Club, Society of the 1st Infantry Dicision and the Lansing S.D.A. Church.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ursie (Kullik) Powers; son, Gene (Trudy) Powers of Sebastopol, Calif.; daughter, Martha Sue (Mike) Gross of Vermontville; five grandchildren, Jenny Powers of Colorado, Rebecca Gross of Michigan, Cecily Powers of New Zealand, Jonathan Gross of Michigan and Zachary Powers of California; brothers, Knox (Nelda) Powers of Michigan and Mark (Delores) Powers of Nevada; sisters, Anita (Bill) Weise of Alabama, Myriel (Ken) Akershoek of Michigan, and Clarys (Bill) Howell of California.
He was preceded in death by sisters Delvan Irene and Jeane Harriet.
Funeral services were held Nov. 25 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Pastor Bill Weise officiating. Interment was at Hillside (Kalamo) Cemetery in Charlotte.
Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice or Lansing S.D.A. Church. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home of Charlotte.
Steven E. Preadmore
Steven Earl Preadmore, 27, of Potterville, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003 as a result of an automobile accident.
Steven was borno Feb. 19, 1976 in Lansing, the son of Larry and Kathy Preadmore. He was a carpenter with Creative Construction and enjoyed playing pool and golf. Steven always showed enourmous pride for his daughters Ashley and Vanessa, and was always available when someone needed a friend or a hand. He always enjoyed being with his family, friends, and walking his dog. He will always remain in our hearts forever.
He is survived by daughters, Ashely and Vanessa Preadmore; his parents; brother David (Shan) Preadmore of Lansing; sister, Bethann (John) Lundy of Charlotte; nieces, Haley and Elizabeth; nephews, Wesley and Nathan; grandmother, Betty Greenlee; and special friends Amanda Clark and Dannette Axel; and his beloved pet, Brooklyn.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Earl Greenlee.
Funeral services were held Dec. 9 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Rev. Mel and Deb Crowley officiating. Interment was at Benton Township Cemetery in Potterville.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to a trust fund for his daughters Ashley and Vanessa. Arrangments were by Pray Funeral Home of Charlotte.
Diane Priesman
Diane K. Priesman, 50, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003.
Mrs. Priesman was born Dec. 9, 1952 in Hastings, the daughter of Lawrence and Barbara (Joppie) Musser. She worked in the sales department of Spartan Motors until May 2001. She enjoyed gardening and had a wonderful sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Lynn Priesman; daughters, Rachel (George) Shook of Olivet, Autumn (Scott) Thomas of Montague; three grandchildren, Joshua, Cameron, and Brennon; her parents, Lawrence and Barbara Musser of Vermontville; brothers, David Musser of Vermontville, Garry Musser of Texas; sister, Brenda (Kelly) Lynch of Texas; and special friends, John and Ann Mathews.
She was prededed in death by brother, Larry Neil Musser.
Funeral services were held May 30 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Pastor Marten Saunders officiating.

Richard V. Priesman
Richard “Dick” Vaughn Priesman, 74, of Charlotte, died Jan. 4, 2003 in Lansing.
Mr. Priesman was born Dec. 15, 1928 in Mulliken, the son of Fred and Lillian (Wagner) Priesman. He was a welder for Oldsmobile until his retirement in 1981. Mr. Priesman was a former private pilot and enjoyed smelt dipping and spending time in the U.P.
He is survived by his wife Wilma “Jean” (Griffin) Priesman; sons, Richard “Rick” Priesman of Olivet, Daniel Priesman of Charlotte and William Priesman of Grand Marais; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Teresa Craft of Lansing, Debra (Phil) Fisher of N. Guilford, Conn., and Trudy (Rod) Lea of Charlotte; step-son, Randy Schultz of Charlotte; eight step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Pat (Sam) Spagnuolo of Charlotte and Betty Smith of Harrison; and borther, Ward “Ed” (Kate) Priesman of Bellevue.
Memorial services were held Jan. 6 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Rev. Darwin Kuhl officiating.
