Clarence H. Richardson
Clarence Henry Richardson, born and raised in Ionia County, died Dec. 13, 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born March 10, 1921, to William Richardson and Adelia Brecheisen Richardson. He married Mary Gladys Shaw in 1941 and they had three children, Paul Richardson, Sue Skeen, and Cheryl Thomas, all surviving. He was a veteran of World War II, in the Pacific. Clarence spent his career in the furniture industry, working in management at eh Grand Ledge Chair Factory in Grand Ledge and as a manufacturing manager at the Charlotte Chair Factory in Charlotte and Superior Furniture in Lowell. He was an artist, as a furniture maker, and made many pieces for relatives and occasionally others. He loved to fish and hunt. He, Paul and Louis (Rusty) Tasker would go ice fishing most Saturdays each winter. Other hobbies included searching for agates, traveling the United States and puttering around his workshop. He and Gladys lived in Grand Ledge at 8817 S. Hartel Rd. for many years and then moved to Morrison Lake. Gladys died in 1977. He married Mae Freese in October 1981. They lived at Higgins Lake for 18 years after he retired and Florida for about a year and a half before finally moving to Idaho to live with Sue.
In addition to his children, he is survived by grandchildren, Shannon Wilson, Mark and Craig Richardson, Sarah, Rebecah and Amanda Skeen, and Tina Colon; two great-grandsons, Logan and Blake Wilson; and current wife, Mae Richardson.
A memorial service will be held on Memorial Day, May 26 at Central United Methodis Church in Lake Odessa, at 11 a.m., with interment to follow at Lake Odessa Cemetery.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be given to the American Lung Association.
Lillian Richman
Lillian Richman, age 94, of Nashville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings.
Mrs. Richman was bron Dec. 22, 1908 in Sudbury, Ontario, the daughter rof Nickolas and Rose (LeDuc) Butler. Lillian and her family moved to Michigan when Lillian was a young girl. She attended local schools in the Pontiac area. After high school, Lillian continued her education by pursuing a degree in cosmetology. On Oct.7, 1926 athe First Methodist Church in Pontiac, she married Marvin Richman. They spent their married lives together in the Detroit area, until their retirement years when they moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Lillian moved back to the Nashville area to be close to her family in the early 1990s. She was employed as a secretary at Allegany Steel Co. in Detroit for over 20 years, retiring in the early 1980s. In her earlier years, she enjoyed hunting and fishing. Lillian was known for her abilities as a cook and seamstress. She also enjoyed gardening; whire in Florida she grew the sweetest pineapples in her garden.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Jane (Melvin) Norberg of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin, who passed away in April 1977; and a brother William.
Funeral services were held Oct. 31 at Daniels Funeral Home of Nashville, with Pastor Daine Bowden officiating.

Charles H. Rickerd
Charles Harold Rickerd, 80, of Charlotte, died Monday, Oct.13, 2003.
Mr. Rickerd was born Feb. 18, 1923 in Charlotte, the son of Merton and Edith Mae (Seavolt) Rickerd. Charles was a production worker for Oldsmobile for 34 years, retiring May 31, 1983. He attended Crossroads United Bretheren Church and was a member of UAW Local #652. He was married for 57 years to Beatrice Clark Rickerd, who survives him.
He is also survived by his son, Harold “Rick” (Karen) Rickerd of Lake Odessa; daughter Charlene Sparks of Charlotte; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter Barbara Jeanne in 1972, granddaughter Tricia in 1975, and brother Donald in 2002.
Funeral services were held Oct. 16 at Pray Funeral Home of Charlotte, with Pastor Richard raab and Pastor Mike Arnold officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.
Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton County Medical Care Facility.
Joan J. Ritter
Joan J. Ritter, 73, of Bellevue, died July 5, 2003 at Battle Creek Health System. She was born Sept. 3, 1929 to Orvis and Bernadine (Flower) Crawford in Bellevue. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1948 and worked as a communications specialist for the federal government until reitiring in 1992. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading, looking for mushrooms in the spring, playing cards and going on fall color tours.
She is survived by son, Michael (Gladys) Schroder of Charlotte; daughter Mary (Bryan) Jones of Bellevue; grandchildren, Jeff Schroder of Marshall, Rob Schroder of Homer and Bailey Jones of Bellevue; and brother, Brice (Mary) Crawford of Bellevue.
Services were held July 9 at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue, with Rev. Darwin Kuhl officiating. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue.

Amos R. Robins
Amos Riley Robins, 79, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003.
Mr. Robins was born Feb. 9, 1924 in Eaton County, the son of James and Alfredetta (Smith) Robins. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Johnson Iron, Johnson Lumber and Gale Briggs, Inc., retiring in 2002. Mr. Robins was an excellent welder and never was afraid of work.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bernadine (McKnight); sons, Ronald (Christine) Robins of Middleville, Dennis (Judy) Robins of Grand Ledge, Barry Robins of Charlotte and David Robins of California; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Royal (Ginnie) Robins of West Windsor; sisters, Edna McDermid and Esther Wyble, both of Charlotte; and sister Marvel Wyble of Nashville.
He was preceded in death by son Lanny Robins 1990, grandson Bryan Hunault in 1991, brother, James Robins in 2002 and sister, Mabel Boehmer in 1976.
Graveside service was held Dec. 27 at West Carmel Cemetery in Charlotte, with R. Raymond Rossell officiating.

Harold L. Robison
Harold Lee Robison, 38, of Lansing, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003.
Mr. Robison was born Aug.19, 1964 in Lansing, the son of Roscie Walter and Nancy Lee (Gage) Robison, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Tina T. (Dolph) Robison; son, Harold Lee Robison, Jr. and daughter, Roxanne Marie Robison, both of Crawfordville, Fla.; brother Roscoe (Tracy) Robison Jr.; two sisters, Roxanne (Marlon) Hudson and Kimberly (James) Cantrell, both of Crawfordville, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Vaughn of Eaton Rapids.
Funeral services were held Feb. 17 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Pastor Mitchell Bean officiating. Arrangements by Pray Funeral Home of Charlotte.
Eustaquio L. Rodriguez
Eustaquio “Rod” Landen Rodriguez, 78, of Charlotte died, Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003.
Mr. Rodriguez was born April 19, 1925 in New Braunfels, Texas, the son of Reyes and Maclovia (Landin) Rodriguez. He was best known for his music “The Rod Rodriguez Band,” “Los Embajadores” and “Trio Los Amigos.” He worked as a parts manager for Charlotte Ford dealerships and retired from the Michigan Department of Transportation. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Charlotte American Legion #42, VFW #2406, Eagles Aerie #3552 and Knights of Columbus. After a whirlwind romance, Rod swept Bertha Bosquez off her feed and two weeks later they were married on May 20, 1954.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bertha; sons, Joe Rodriguez, Ricardo (Darlene) Rodriguez; daughters, Linda Fox, Delia McGregor, Alicia (Douglas) Wilcox, Rosario (Ken) Debler; seven grandchildren, Gabriel Fox, Veronica Rodriguez, Stephanie Fox, Martin Rodriguez, Brianna Rodriguez, William Rodriguez, and Kegan McGregor; sister, Jobita Tamez; brother, Antonio Rodriguez; sister, Juanita Wells; and brother, Anselmo Rodriguez.
He was preceded in death by son-in-law Stephen Fox in 1987 and daughter-in-law Patricia Rodriguez in 1995.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Charlotte, with Rev. Father Frederick Thelen as celebrant. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte. Family will receive visitors Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte.

Thomas J. Rogers
Thomas J. Rogers, age 72, of Battle Creek, formerly of Eaton Rapids, passed away at the Mercy Pavilion Healthcare Center in Battle Creek Wednesday afternoon July 23, 2003. He was born October 11, 1930 in Eaton Rapids, before moving to Battle Creek. He wzs a veteran of the Korean War, and was a self-employed painter/carpenter. Preceding him in death was his father Arch W. Rogers, mother Marguerite (Moultan) Rogers, and brother Arch W. Rogers, Jr. He enjoyed a lifelong love of hunting and fishing.
He is survived by five sons, Tom Rogers (Cindy) of Grass Lake, Dale Rogers (JoAnn) of Rives Junction, Richard Rogers (Kim) of Rives Junction, Mark Rogers (Lee) of Onondaga, and Ken Rogers of Jackson. 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
