David L. Pratt
David Laverne Pratt, 60, of Owosso, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002.
Mr. Pratt was born Sept. 5, 1941 in Lansing, the son of Paul and Violet (Hatton) Pratt. He was a general laborer.
He is survived by sons, David (Angela) Pratt and Wayne (Brenda) Pratt of Charlotte; nine grandchildren; sister, Barbara Carter of Vermontville and Margaret McLouth of Lansing.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1982, mother in 1992, and brother William in 1996.
Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Neal F. Priesman
Neal Frederick Priesman, 81, of Charlotte, died Friday, May 10, 2002.
Mr. Priesman was born Nov. 7, 1920 in Eaton County, the son of Frederick and Lillian Priesman. He was a machinist at Aluminum Extrusions, and the former owner of Farmers Gas and Oil in Charlotte. He served as an Army staff sergeant in the Aleutian Islands in World War II, was a former gunsmith with his own shop, and a life-long member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by daughters, Suzanne (Richard) McClure and Angela Priesman, both of Charlotte, and Sandra (Robert) Wells of Engadine; sons, Lynn (Diane) and Jack, both of Charlotte, Rodney (Annie) of Hawaii and Gary (Kris) of Hastings; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward (Kate) Fritz, and Richard (Jean); sisters, Betty Smith and Patsy (Sam) Spagnuolo.
He was preceded in death by wife, Leah on Jan. 9, 2001, and brothers John and Larry.
Funeral services were held May 14 at Pray Funeral Home of Charlotte, with Martin Saunders officiating. Interment was at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta.

Warren O. Priesman
Warren O. (Fritz) Priesman, 80, of Lansing, passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002.
Mr. Priesman was born June 4, 1922 in Mulliken, the son of the late Frederick and Lillian (Wagoner) Priesman. He was a veteran of World War II, serving his country proudly with the U.S. Army. He retired from General Motors after 27 years of service as a skilled tradesman.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy (Vern) Reed and Cindy (James) Shaver, both of Charlotte; son, Michael (Kathy) of Eaton Rapids; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Jean) of Charlotte and his twin, Ward (Kate) of Kalamo; sisters, Betty Smith of Harrison and Patsy (Sam) Spagnuolo of Charlotte.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharlene; three brothers, Neil, John and Larry; one half-brother, Murle Mann; and one half-sister, Ruth Earl.
Services were held Aug. 6 at Palmer-Bush Delta Chapel, with Rev. Darwin Kuhl of West Carmel Congregational Church officiating. Interment was at Mulliken Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, the VFW National Home or American Cancer Society, in memory of Warren O. Priesman.
Ronald L. Price
Ronald Lee Price, 38, of Charlotte, passed away June 10, 2002, riding the Harley that he loved.
Mr. Price was a free-spirited man who loved the outdoors and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
He is survived by his mother, Rita Price of Grand Ledge; one sister, Debbie (Andy) Olmstead of Grand Ledge; three brothers, Carl and Roy (Amy), both of Grand Ledge, and Donald of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandparents, Julius and Dien Heuer of Lansing; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Memorial services were held June 29 at Peters & Murray Funeral Home in Grand Ledge, with Rev. W.J. “Bill” Amundsen officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald Price Memorial Fund.
Bertha M. Pullman
Bertha M. Pullman, age 90 of Eaton Rapids, died Sunday, August 25, 2002 at the Eaton Manor Nursing Home in Charlotte. She was born May 12, 1912 in Vermontville, the daughter of Ralph A. and Mary (Butler) Towers, Bertha and her husband Vic, were both employed at one time for Gulliver’s Hatchery in Eaton Rapids. She is preceded in death by her husband Victor Pullman on March 4, 2002 and an infant daughter, Evelyn Brininstool, as well as her parents.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews and cousins including, nephews, Wayne and Jim Towers of Eaton Rapids; niece, Ella Bugbee of Eaton Rapids and Dorothy Doxtader of Lansing.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 28, at 1:00 p.m., from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with Stephen Klink officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Victor M. Pullman
Victor M. Pullman, age 87 of Eaton Rapids, died Monday, March 4, 2002 at the Eaton Manor Nursing Home in Charlotte. He was born February 16, 1915 in Vermontville, the son of Hiram and Amy (Lowe) Pullman. Victor served in the Army during World War II, receiving 2 bronze stars, while in Europe. He was employed at Minor, Walton, Bean Co. in Charlotte, employed as a custodian for the Eaton Rapids Public Schools and worked as sexton with Rev. Sylvester Baker at many of the rural cemeteries in Eaton County.
Surviving are his wife, Bertha (Towers) Pullman; sister-in-law, Ruth Towers; 18 great nieces and nephews including Wayne Towers and James Towers.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 8, 2002 at the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with Rev. Stephen Klink of the Community Christian Church, officiating. Burial followed in the Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids.
James M. Purdey
James M. Purdey, 60, of Woodland, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002 at Pennock Hospital.
Mr. Purdey was born June 30, 1942 in Ann Arbor, the son of Henry and Lorna (Yates) Purdey. He was raised in the Weidman area and attended schools there. He married Sharon Imes on March 30, 1963. The couple lived in Charlotte and Vermontville before moving to their present home in Woodland. Mr. Purdey was employed at the former Johnson Iron Industry in Charlotte for 25 years. For the past several years he was self-employed as a wood cutter and scrap metal hauler. He was a loving husband and father, and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. His dog “Bear” held a special place in his heart. Mr. Purdey was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying all of nature’s wonders.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Patricia Purdey of Woodland, Sue (Charles) Sawdy of Freeport and Kathy (Nick) Dulyea of Morley; sons, Jeff of Saranac and Hank of Cancun, Mexico; one grandson and five granddaughters; brothers, Jay of Flint and Walt of Weidman; sisters, Delores Purdey of Clare and Stella Haugh of Barryton; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Samantha Jo Dulyea; and sisters, Irene Jones and Viola Sheppard.
Respecting Mr. Purdey’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.

Charles W. Quick
Charles Wendall Quick, 84, of Bellevue, died July 1, 2002 at his home.
Mr. Quick was born April 3, 1918, the son of George and Rae (Price) Quick in Battle Creek. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1935 and married Dorothy Jeffery on July 10, 1939; she survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Charlene (Ed) Bartha of Bellevue and Eleanor (Wayne) Peterson of Brainard, Minn.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Helen Hodges of Milan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers William and Herbert.
A private family committal took place at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
