Mildred V. Radee
Mildred V. “Millie” Radee, 95, of Charlotte, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002.
Mrs. Radee was born March 22, 1907 in Indiana, the daughter of George and Edna (Turner) Duguid. She had owned and operated a Charlotte restaurant for many years.
He survivors include son, George (Barbara) Radee of Charlotte; daughter-in-law, Florine Radee of Lansing; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and half sister, Genevieve Robins of Harrison.
She was preceded in death by husband Erick Radee in 1955, son Irvin in 1982, brother Fred Duguid and half brothers Howard, Dudley and Charles.
A memorial service was held Nov. 22 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with R Raymond Rossell officiating.

Mildred M. Ranshaw
Mildred M. Ranshaw, 81, died Saturday, July 27, 2002 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.
Mrs. Ranshaw was born Sept. 24, 1920 in Eaton County, the daughter of Leroy and Laura (Stevens) Shaul. She married Laroy Ranshaw in Eaton County on Nov. 2, 1968 and had been a member of the United Methodist Church of Leesburg, Fla. She enjoyed gardening and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Laroy; two sons, Henry (Sandra) Wright Jr. of Oklahoma and Jack (Carol) Wright of Bloomfield Hills; three daughters, Joan Banner of Charlotte, Karen (Tony) Huesca of Lake Mary, Fla., and Karolyn (Gonzalez) of Holt; step-daughter, Julie Ranshaw of Charlotte step-son, Terry Lee Ranshaw Sr. of Charlotte; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Wright, and her sister, Helen Bursley.
Funeral services were held July 30 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.

Thelma Marie Rathbun
Thelma M. Rathbun, age 90 of Eaton Rapids, died Monday, March 18, 2002. She was born April 14, 1911 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Roy and Nellie (Gillette) Hoag. Mrs. Rathbun was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eaton Rapids Senior Citizens and the Rocking Chair Deserters, and the Rebekah Sunshine Lodge #142 in Eaton Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband, Murville in 1998 and son, Kenneth in 1993.
Surviving are 4 children, Keith (Mary) Rathbun, Jan (Kathy) Rathbun and Cindy Dale all of Eaton Rapids, Patricia Rathbun of Charlotte; sister-in-law, Olive Rathbun of Eaton Rapids; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Fern Conklin and June Serwack both of Eaton Rapids; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 23, 2002, from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with Rev. Tom Evans of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial followed in the Oakwood Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. For those desiring, memorial donations may be made to the Eaton Rapids Senior Center in memory of Thelma M. Rathbun.
Dorothy S. Reed
Dorothy S. Reed, 86, of Potterville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 10, 2002 in Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing following a long illness.
Mrs. Reed was born Feb. 5, 1916 in Momence, Ill., the daughter of Forney and Rosa (Schuette) Storey. On Oct. 21, 1944 in Cassopolis, she married John L. Reed, who preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1980. She formerly lived near Vandalia and Three Rivers. She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church of Constantine. She had also been employed at Elgin Watches in Elgin, Ill.
She is survived by two daughters, Deann (Joseph) Ross of Potterville and Marilou (Jim) Cochran of Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandchildren, Loren Ross of San Diego, Calif., Sarah McCallum of Charlotte, James Anthony Cochran and John Reed Cochran, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Louella Lamb; and one brother, Chester Storey.
Funeral services were held July 13 at Mater Funeral Home in Marcellus, with Rev. Mark Erbes officiating. Interment was at Poe’s Cemetery in Jones.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Constantine.
Gertrude Louise Canedy Reese
Gertrude Louise “Trudie” Reese, age 58 of Edinboro, PA, died Thursday, August 29, 2002 at her home after a long illness. She was born in Mason, Michigan on September 18, 1943, the daughter of the late Floyd and Leona Barto Canedy. She enjoyed gardening, gourmet cooking, reading, entertaining and hosting parties. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clare Charles Canedy.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Reese; two sons, Samuel (Donna) Reese and Joseph Reese; two sisters, Rachel (Tom) Spencer and Sue (Robert) Allen, both of Eaton Rapids; sister-in-law, Sally Canedy; mother-in-law, Doris Reese; and two grandchildren.
Services were held in Edinboro, PA on Monday, September 2nd. Memorials may be made to East Green Presbyterian Church, 10200 Wales Road, Erie, PA 16510 or to Great Lakes Hospice, 1527 Sasafras St., Erie, PA 16502.
Myrtle M. Reid
Myrtle M. Reid, 88, of Nashville, died Monday, July 22, 2002 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings.
Mrs. Reid was born Aug. 30, 1913 in Bedford, the daughter of Alexander and Hazel (Hunt) Ellsworth. She was raised in the Bedford area and attended area schools. She married Claude Reid July 26, 1930 in Battle Creek. Mrs. Reid was a life-long resident of Nashville, attended the Nashville Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Modern Pioneers Club. She enjoyed vacationing in the Upper Peninsula with family members, traveling with her husband Claude throughout Michigan on covered wagon trips, camping, horses and being with her grandchildren. Mrs. Reid also enjoyed gardening, especially her roses.
She is survived by sons, Lyle (Diane) and Gordie (Vickie), both of Hastings, Charles (Frankie) of Nashville and Duane (Mary) of Charlotte; daughters, Barbara Mann of Nashville, Carol (Ervin) Gaskill of Ludington, and Claudine (Mike) Hill and Claudette (Rocky) Adams, both of Nashville; brother-in-law, Clarence (Margaret) Reid; sisters-in-law, Orpha Reid and Ruth Reid; 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Reid, and a great-great-grandson, Tyler.
Services were held July 25 at the Nashville Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Alan Metler officiating. Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Nashville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nashville Church of the Nazarene Building Fund. Arrangements were by Maple Chapel, Nashville.
William R. Resseguie
William R. Resseguie, 74, of Nashville, died Monday, March 18, 2002 at Ingham Regional Medical Facility in Lansing.
Mr. Resseguie was born Oct. 26, 1927 in Flint, the son of Freeman and Achsah (Mead) Resseguie. He attended Flint schools and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from Sept. 4, 1952 until Sept. 3, 1956. He married Ella Jane Bennett on Jan. 25, 1958 in Flint. He worked at the Buick plant in Flint for 10 years and AE Hoover in Charlotte for 31 years. Upon moving to the Vermontville/Nashville area, he served as an assistant scout master for 11 years in Vermontville. He was a member of the Nashville VFW Post and Nashville Assembly of God. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, working in his shop at home, fishing and deer hunting. He dearly loved his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Ella of Nashville; daughters, Linda (Lyle) Hill of Hastings and Lois (Skip) Thornsbury of Nashville; son, Dale (Tammy) Resseguie of Vermontville; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman and Achsah (Mead) Resseguie; son Patrick Resseguie; grandson, Adam Wrigglesworth; mother-in-law, Nora Hine; sister, Phyllis Houle; and brother, Freeman Jr.
Services were held March 21 at the Nashville Assembly of God, with Pastor Glenn Branham officiating. Interment was at Patterson Cemetery in Vermontville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family or the Maple Valley Scholarship Fund. Arrangements were by Maple Valley Chapel in Nashville.
Betty Lou Reynolds
Betty Lou Reynolds, age 64 of Eaton Rapids, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002 in Lansing. Betty Lou was born June 18, 1937 in Hamlin Twp., Eaton County, the daughter of Lansing Ray and Genevieve Bernice (Williams) Powers. She was formerly employed with Green Bay Foods in Eaton Rapids. Betty was preceded in death by son, Floyd “Fuzzy” Reynolds on April 6, 2002; 2 brothers, Jacob & Melvin Powers and her sister, Goldie Putnam.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Elmer; 2 daughters, Bernice (Gabe) Gibbs, Floria (Mike) Franklin both of Eaton Rapids; daughter-in-law, Tina Cotton of Eaton Rapids; 2 sons, John Willett, Larry Dunlap both of Leslie; 5 grandchildren, Cinnamon Reynolds, Michael Paul Franklin, Soloman Reynolds, Samantha Cotton, Tiffany Franklin; 2 great-grandchildren, Jerica and Dylan Lashley; siblings, Gloria Siefert of Duck Lake, Bethal (Bill) Kaiser of Arizona, Wayne (Shirley) Powers of Duck Lake, Lansing (Becky) Powers of Marshall, Christina (Ron) Richardson, Martha (Bob) Proteau both of Charlotte and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Friday, May 17, 2002 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids with Rev. Winford Collins officiating. Interment followed at Forest Lawn. Casket bearers were Solomon Reynolds, Michael Paul Franklin, Davey Reynolds, Dougie Reynolds and Butchie DeWaters.
Floyd H. “Fuzzy” Reynolds
Floyd H. “Fuzzy” Reynolds, age 40 of Eaton Rapids, died Saturday, April 6, 2002 in Lansing. Floyd was born September 19, 1961 in Eaton Rapids. He owned and operated Fuzzy’s Lawn Care in Eaton Rapids, loved to hunt, fish, ride his quad, and spend time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his soul mate, Tina Cotton; 2 daughters, Cinnamon Reynolds of Bellevue and Samantha Cotton of Eaton Rapids; 2 grandchildren, Jerica and Dylan Lashley; parents, Elmer and Betty (Powers) Reynolds; 2 sisters Bernice (Karl) Gibbs of Eaton Rapids; Floria (Michael) Franklin of Eaton Rapids; niece, Tiffany Franklin; 5 nephews, Soloman Reynolds, Michael Paul Franklin, Terry, Blade and Gary DeWaters.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids with Rev. Winford Collins officiating.
