Conrad Gene Clark
Conrad Gene Clark, age 74 of Parma, Michigan, died March 10, 2002 at Foote Hospital, Jackson, Michigan. He was born April 9, 1927 in Mandale Ohio to Gladwin Paul and Nina Marjorie (Scott) Clark. He had lived in the Jackson County are for most of his life. He was self-employed as a Dairy Farmer, having registered Jersey Cows. He was a member of the Michigan Jersey Cattle Club and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness of Albion and Eaton Rapids. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Giva, in 1986.
Surviving are his wife, Janice A (Mitchell) of Parma; son, David Allen (Sheila) Clark of New Tazewell, TN; grandson, Micah David Allen Clark; 3 step-sons, Benjamin Mitchell of Jackson, Robert Mitchell of Jackson and Bryan Mitchell of Parma; 4 step-grandchildren, Glenda, Whitney, Deanna, Collin; 1 sister, Patricia Flower of Springport; numerous nieces and nephews.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Memorial services at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness or to the Family. Arrangements by the Albion Chapel of Tidd-Williams Funeral Chapels.
Phyllis J. Clark
Phyllis J. (Peters) Clark of Charlotte passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002 at her son’s home with family and friends at her bedside.
She is survived by two sons, Steve (Carol) Clark and Scott (Jolene) Clark; five grandchildren, Emily, Amy, Melissa, Ethan and Jake; one sister, Jeanette (Jerry) Clark; one brother, Ronald (Judy) Peters; several nieces and nephews; and her caregiver for the last six years, Laura Ferman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Ila Peters.
Cremation has taken place. A private graveside memorial service will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton County Medical Care Facility Patient Activities Department. Arrangements were by Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Mildred Clements
Mildred Clements, 91, of Lake Odessa, formerly of Charlotte, died March 8, 2002.
Mrs. Clements was born March 29, 1910 in Olivet, the daughter of Charles and Ida Mae (Griffin) Royston. She married Paul Clements in 1928 and they enjoyed 64 years together. She and her husband were life-long residents and farmers in the community. Mrs. Clements was a member of Crossroads United Brethren Church and a volunteer at Eaton Manor from 1991 to 1996.
She is survived by daughters, Wilma (Doug) Crossan of Lakeland, Fla., and Karen (Rick) Rickerd of Lake Odessa; sons, Harold (Donna) Clements and Darrell (Marlyn) Clements, both of Charlotte; 19 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Marie Albright of Lyons.
She was preceded in death by husband Paul in 1991, three brothers, two sisters, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held March 12 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. Mark Beers and Rev. Harold Cherry officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads United Brethren Church or the Ionia Hospice.
Marjorie V. Clemons
Marjorie V. Clemons, 83, of Bellevue, died April 26, 2002 at Battle Creek Health System.
Mrs. Clemons was born Feb. 6, 1919 in Vermontville, the daughter of Quinn and Cleta (Snider) Berry. She worked in packaging at Post Cereals for 27 years, retiring in 1975. She married LeRoy Clemons in 1933; he died in 1977. Mrs. Clemons was a member of the Post 25 Year Club, Eagles Aerie Eaglettes #299, Bellevue Conservation Club, Marshall Moose Lodge and Leila Auxiliary. She delivered for the Eaton County Meals on Wheels and was a participant for the senior citizens group in Bellevue and Olivet. She enjoyed bingo and visiting her daughter in Las Vegas.
She is survived by a son, James (Duretha) Clemons of Bellevue; daughters, Carolyn (Corlis) Berry and Sharon (Al) Ballard, both of Bellevue, and Marilyn (Jim) Gordon of Las Vegas, Nev.; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and a brother, Charles Berry.
Funeral services were held April 29 at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue, with Pastor Steve Olmstead officiating. Interment was at Assyria Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasantview Puppet Ministry or American Heart Association.
Marie A. Cline
Marie A. Cline, 98, of Charlotte, formerly of Port Huron, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002 at Eaton Manor Nursing Home in Charlotte.
Mrs. Cline was born July 25, 1904 in Port Huron, the daughter of August and Elizabeth Schroeder, and had been a Charlotte resident since 1983, coming from Port Huron. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Huron, and while in Charlotte attended Peace Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Russell of Charlotte; son, Roger Cline of Canterbury, Conn; five grandchildren, Christie (Michael) Gilliland of Holt, Diana (Michael) Roberts of Belding, Greg (Francine) Cline of Watertown, Mass., Vickie (Uni) Travena of Concord, N.C. and Beth (Dean) Gorman of Plainfield, Conn.; 10 great-grandchildren and fiver great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Frank Schroeder of Port Huron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cline in 1983, and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Aug. 26 at Peace Lutheran Church in Charlotte, with Rev. Noel Hall-Niemann officiating. Committal services were held Aug. 27 at Lakeside Cemetery Chapel in Port Huron.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund. Arrangements were by Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Neil Cochrane
Neil Harvey Cochrane, died peacefully in his sleep June 29, 2002.
Mr. Cochrane was born July 25, 1926. He leaves a loving family.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Cochrane; daughters, Mary Jo (Danny) Goodwin, K.C. (Andy) Martin and Julie (Leighton) Shantz; one son, Patrick Cochrane; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Desgranges of Eaton Rapids, Phyllis (Menzo) Howe of Charlotte; and nieces and nephews in and around Charlotte.
Cremation has taken place and private memorial services were held.
John G. Coffman
John Glenn Coffman, 76, of Dunellon, Fla., formerly of Nashville, Mich., passed away May 29, 2002.
Mr. Coffman was born April 24, 1926 in Clarksburg, W.Va., to A. Glenn and Olive (Brand) Coffman. He had on brother, James (Ceceila); four sisters, Ileene (Hunter), Sue (James), Gretchen and Judy (Williams). Mr. Coffman was retired from Owen-Illinois glass plant in Charlotte and had formerly worked as a salesman and served in the United States Army during World War I. Friends and family will remember the kind heart he had and how they could count on him to be there if they needed help, a role model for young and old.
He is survived by his wife Sue; children, Rosanne, John David (Elizabeth), Chris (William), Brian (Stacey), Brad (Julie), W. Glenn and Melissa (Michael); stepsons, Anthony (Gini), Kames, Rick, Randy (Tina) and Skip (Diane); 25 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary; infant sister Gretchen; and his parents.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15 at Lakeview Cemetery in Nashville.

Mary B. Colby
Mary Bertha (Sheppard West) Colby, 64, of Battle Creek, formerly of Charlotte, died March 7, 2002. Mrs. Colby was born march 20, 1937 in Grand Ledge, the daughter of Herbert and Mary Bertha (Simms) Sheppard and foster brother, Bon West in 1998. Graveside services were held March 15 at Gresham Cemetery, Charlotte, with Elder Richard Garn officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home of Charlotte.
Lanore E. Cole
Mrs. Lanore Emma Cole, 86, of Bellevue, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002.
Mrs. Cole was born May 21, 1916 in Barry County, the daughter of Vern Gilding and Vema Farnham Gilding.
She is survived by sons, Wayne of Bellevue and M. Bruce of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchild and two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Vern (Betty) Gilding of Charlotte, Don (Lela), Jen (Jean) and John, all of Clarksdale, Ariz.; sisters, Kate Crawford of Leslie, Geraldine Burrows of Mt. Clemons and Roberta Gilding of Kalkaska; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd in 1989, and great-granddaughter Shayna in 1992.
Graveside services were held Nov. 26 at Gresham Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home of Charlotte.
