Roland C. Frank
Roland C. Frank, 88 of Odessa, Mo., formerly of Charlotte, died Feb. 20 in Oak Grove, Mo.
Mr. Frank was born Jan. 24, 1914 in Iosco County, the son of Chauncey Wellington Frank and Laura Cook Frank. He married Clara Ellen Shumaker of Charlotte on March 22, 1952. Mr. Frank was employed by Klaiss Electric in Charlotte in the early 1950’s, followed by employment with Trenton Steel Mill, Reo Motors, and Truck and Trailer Equipment Supply, until retiring in 1977. He and his family moved to Odessa in 1977. Mr. Frank was baptized at age 17 in the RLDS Church and served as a priest for RLDS – now the Community of Christ – where he held many offices. He is survived by his wife, Clara; son, Mark (Heather) of Oak Grove; two daughters, Shelly Frank of Independence, Mo., and S/Sgt. Rolana Frank of Kennewick, Wash.; two grandchildren, Briana and Aaron Frank; two brothers-in-law, Dale (Iris Lee) Shumaker of Bell City, Mo., and Gale (Joan) Shumaker of Charlotte; and three sisters-in-law, Ila Shumaker Klaiss, Betty Shumaker and Ethel Shumaker, all of Charlotte. Memorial services were Feb. 24 at Community of Christ Church, Odessa, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to Outreach International.
Dorothy B. Franks
Dorothy B. Franks, 90, of Vermontville, died Thursday, March 14, 2002 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings.
Mrs. Franks was born on the Pease family farm on Pease Road in Kalamo Township on Sept. 11, 1911, the daughter of Edward Robert and Carrie (Bowen) Pease. She attended Bowen Country School and married E. Raymond Franks on Feb. 25, 1938 in Bellevue. They were life-long farmers in the community. Mrs. Franks was a past member of the Kalamo Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time at her cottage at Middle Lake and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Virgil (Kathy) Franks of Bellevue and Robert (Barbara) Franks of Vermontville; brother, Edward Pease of Charlotte; sister, Mary Eisenlord of Battle Creek; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Raymond Franks in 1999; two sisters and five brothers.
Services were held March 16 at Maple Valley Chapel in Nashville, with Rev. Roger Salisbury officiating. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Kalamo Township.
Janette Frey
Janette Newland Frey, 89, died April 6, 2002 at Warren Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Frey was born Sept. 13, 1912 in Tekonsha, the daughter of the late Myrtle Margaret and Calvin Burton Newland. She resided in Charlotte most of her life, and moved to Front Royal, Va., in 1992 and lived in Ay-View. She was a resident at Royal Haven at the time of her death.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Dr. Charles) Huber of Front Royal, Va.; granddaughter, Anne (Linwood Jr.) Gorham of Lorton, Va.; grandson, Charles (Stephanie) Huber of Denton, Md.; three great-grandsons, Linwood Gorham III, Charles Gorham and Calvin Huber.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Miland Frank Frey.
Services and interment will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte at a later date.

Frederick M. Friedley
Frederick M. Friedley, age 83 of Columbus, Ohio, died April 30, 2002. He was born April 20, 1919 in Eaton Rapids. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1970. He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Harda.
Surviving are 2 sons, Morris (Jennifer) Friedley of Kansas and Tom (Lori) Friedley; 2 daughters, Susan Kohler and her fiancé Tim Pfautsch and Shirley Barber; grandchildren Branden and Kyle Friedley, Timmy and Katie Koemer of Columbus and S/Sgt. Keith (Eden) Barber of Ft. Drum, NY: 2 sisters, Barbara (Neal) Rogers and Mildred (Cal) Richards both of Eaton Rapids.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 3, 2002 at the Schoedinger East Chapel in Columbus. Burial was at Glen Rest Memorial Cemetery, Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
Thomas L. Fritz
Thomas L. Fritz, 65, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Marshall, passed away Oct. 1, 2002 in Fort Myers, Fla.
Mr. Fritz was born Aug. 21, 1937 to Irene Hardenburg (Fritz) in Calhoun County. He was a former employee of the Calhoun County Road Commission, Eaton Manufacturing, Win Schuler’s Restaurant and Bostick, all located in Marshall. He owned a gas station in Marshall for a number of years in his earlier years and was a salesman for his remaining years.
He is survived by three children, Randy (Sally) Fritz of Eaton Rapids, Constance (William) Owens of Lansing, and Laurie (Ron) Berry of Arlington, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Jeremiah Fritz, Elijhia Sue Fritz, Kurtis Fritz, William (Willie) Owens, T.J. Owens, Sean Owens, Sunny Faith Owens, Nicole Berry, Bethany Berry and Jonathan Berry; one step-grandson, Thomas Heisler; and one great-granddaughter, Audrey Dealmedia of Elsie.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements were by Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Robert Fuller Jr.
Robert Marvin Julian Fuller, Jr., 43, of Mulliken, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002.
Mr. Fuller was born June 22, 1959 in Lansing, the son of Robert Marvin Julian Fuller Sr. and Patricia (Drown) Fuller. He was an assembly worker at B.O.C. in Lansing until his retirement in 1993. Mr. Fuller’s interests included computers, books on tape, and playing with his two dogs. HE was a long-term patient of the kidney dialysis unit at Mid Michigan Dialysis Center and appreciated the care and kindness of the many doctors, nurses and staff there.
He is survived by his wife and caregiver, Deborah; daughter, Tara; son, R.J.; father, Robert Sr.; brother, William Fuller and fiancé Sue Tice of Lansing; sister, Janice (Robert) Brewster of Indiana, nine nieces and five nephews; and many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia in 1990.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Edith E. Furlong
Edith E. Furlong, 61, of Nashville, died Monday, April 29, 2002 at her home.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Furlong of Nashville; sons, Edward Gorodinski and Frankie Furlong; daughters, Elaine (Jeff) Geiger, Sharon Whitaker (Joe Kubek) and Barbara (Jeff) Sharritt; brother, Sam (Betty) Rose; sisters, Mary Reed and Judy (George) McNitt; 12 grandchildren; and mother and father-in-law, Richard and Carolyn Furlong.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Marie (Miller) Rose, and a son, Joey Gorodinski.
Services were held May 2 at Maple Valley Chapel, Nashville, with Pastor J. Andrew Fry officiating. Interment was at Woodland Memorial Park in Woodland Township.
Judith E. Furlong
Judith E. Furlong, 62, of Nashville, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings.
She was born Aug. 7, 1939 in Hastings, the daughter of Arthur and Gladis (Wilkins) Keeler, and attended Hastings schools, graduating from Hastings High School in 1957. She was employed at Maple Valley Implement for 30 years, where she held the position of vice president until her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed collecting Precious Moments collectibles, reading and knitting. Her favorite hobby was her travels to Hawaii, California, Spain and Europe with her sisters and special friends. She especially enjoyed her cats. Although she was somewhat confined, she enjoyed the care she received from some very special friends.
She is survived by sons, Randy Furlong and Cory (Jackie) Furlong, both of Nashville; brothers, Don (Betty) Keeler of Hemlock, Kenneth Keeler of Hastings and Charles Keeler of Middleville; sisters, Janice (Stewart) Day of Hastings and Linda (Harry) Garrison of Freeport; granddaughters, Charleen Furlong and Kaytlin Furlong; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Keith Keeler; and nephews, Jack Keeler and Gary Keeler.
Funeral services were held May 24 at Maple Valley Chapel in Nashville. Interment was at Woodland Memorial Park in Woodland.
