Patsy L. Overton
Patsy “Pat” Overton, 52, of Charlotte, died Feb. 1, 2002.
Mrs. Overton was born Jan. 4, 1950 in Greenville, N.C., the daughter of George Leonard and Mary Aletha (Waters) Williams. She worked with the Eaton County Courthouse and was a member of the Charlotte Pentecostal Church of God.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Gary Overton; daughter Sara Ellis, son Jordan Ellis, step-daughter Nicole Overton, stepson Andrew Overton, and step-grandson Dominic Macias, all of Michigan; and brother, Steve (Mary) Williams of Greenville, N.C.
Funeral services were held Feb. 4 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. Elbern Householder officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte.
Sheila M. Palmiter
Sheila Mae Palmiter, 54, of Charlotte, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002.
Mrs. Palmiter was born June 27, 1948 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of John and Jessie (Parish) Everett. She had been a member of Potterville VFW Auxiliary despite many health problems. She made the most of life and loved bingo.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Palmiter, married Aug. 6, 1978 in Potterville; daughter, Jodie Hunter of Eaton Rapids; three grandchildren, Britnie, Brandon and Briana; stepchildren, Theresa, Nina, Angela, Paul and Larry Jr.; 11 step-grandchildren; and brother, Don Everett of Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Gerald “Joe” Everett in 1991.
Funeral services were held Dec. 23 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Pastor Marten Saunders officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.

Dorothy O. Partridge
Dorothy O. Partridge, 81, of Charlotte, died March 9, 2002.
Mrs. Partridge was born Feb. 24, 1921, the daughter of Herman and Erma (Mitchell) Gillihan. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren and Leslie Wells. She also enjoyed painting.
She is survived by sons, William (Bonnie) Partridge of Olivet and Ronald (Sharon) Partridge of Charlotte; special friend, Leslie Wells; 11 grandchildren and spouses, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred (Jerry) Fase of Lansing; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by husband Seth in 1983.
Funeral services were held March 13 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Chuck Jenson officiating. Interment was at Gresham Cemetery in Charlotte.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Heart Association.
Thelma J. Patrick
Thelma J. Patrick, 67, of Nashville, formerly of Charlotte, died Friday, May 24, 2002 at her residence after a short illness.
Mrs. Patrick was born June 2, 1934 in Van, Ky., the daughter of Ike and Glessie (Thomas) Maggard, and had been a Charlotte and Nashville-area resident since 1952, coming from Kentucky. She was married to Charles Patrick July 3, 1954 in Charlotte, and was employed by Wilcox-Gay Co., Crozier Container Co. and Owens-Illinois Glass Container Division, all in Charlotte.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Patrick; three daughters, Connie (Paul Kirby) Somes of Nashville, Penny (David) Ryan of Nashville and Charlene (Richard) Cooley of Rodney; six grandchildren; two sister, Edna Warner of Charlotte and Polly Morton of Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by infant daughter, Christine Sue Patrick; brothers, Ishmail, Daniel and Edward Maggard; and sisters, Viola Combs and Belvie Maggard.
Funeral services were held May 28 at Burkhead-Green Funeral Chapel in Charlotte, with Pastor Mark Woodbury officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Barry-Eaton Health Department, Home Health and Hospice.
Eliseo G. Pena
Eliseo G. “Al” Pena, 70, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002.
Mr. Pena was a 1968 honor graduate of Charlotte High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years and worked for Hayes Green Beach Hospital as a lab technician for 29 years. In 1982 he worked for the Roy Miller Post Office until his retirement. He was very active in the American Legion Post #42 in Charlotte as a commander, and also belonged to American Legion Post #364 Colored Guard in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was also a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mr. Pena was an avid golfer and loved his putter. He also belonged to the Men’s Senior 60 Golf Association of Corpus Christi, Texas. He enjoyed being a spectator of baseball.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalinda; children, Rosa Ann (Marten) Saunders, Eliseo (Janet) Pena Jr. and Robert (Sue) Pena, all of Charlotte, Mark (Lisa) Pena of San Antonio, Texas and Andrea Pena of Potterville; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maria Garza and Bernarda Hernandez; and one brother, Andres Pena; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calixtro and Ramona Pena; two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral mass was held Sept. 11 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corpus Christi. Entombment followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Corpus Christi.
Arrangements were by Memorial Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Donald E. Rickerd
Donald E. Rickerd, 86, of Lincoln, died Friday, June 26, 2002.
Mr. Rickerd was born in Bellevue Township, the son of Merton and Edith Rickerd.
He is survived by one brother, Charles Rickerd of Charlotte.
Arrangements were by Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln.
John Rinehart
John Rinehart, 61, of St. Cloud, Fla. passed away July 26, 2002.
Mr. Rinehart was born Dec. 5, 1940 in Saginaw, the son of Forrest and Erma Rinehart. He lived in Charlotte for 30 years, and retired from BOC after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Rinehart; son, Jeff (Evie) of St. Cloud, Fla.; daughter, Janel Rinehart of Eaton Rapids; grandsons, Konnor Rinehart and Justin Gleason and Brittany Ramey.
Cremation has taken place.
James D. Roberts
James Dale Roberts, 60, of Nashville, passed away at home Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002.
Mr. Roberts was born Jan. 22, 1942, the son of the late Charles and Laura (Huffmon) Roberts. He married Mary Louise Ledbetter on Sept. 20, 1964 in Aikin, S.C. Mr. Roberts spent his last few years with Myrt Hager. He loved country music and had a great passion for songwriting and singing, especially at Prairiville.
He is survived by three children, Kathryn (Jeremie) Modine of Columbia, Tenn., Teresa Roberts of Witchita Falls, Texas, and Terry (Julie) Johnson of Ionia; grandchildren, Scott and Amber Hamilton, and Rayven Modine; two sisters, Kathy Roberts of Greenville and Dana (Tim) Estep of Sunfield; and two brothers, Herb (Barb) Roberts of Hastings and Chuck Roberts of New Paris, Ind.
Memorial services were held Dec. 18 at Nashville Baptist Church in Nashville, with Pastor Lester DeGroot officiating. Inurnment was at North Eagle Cemetery in Eagle.
Arrangements were by Maple Valley Chapel of Nashville.
Lester V. Roberts
Lester Vern Roberts, 82, of Jackson, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002.
Mr. Roberts was born April 3, 1920 in Charlotte, the son of Clarence and Augusta (Palmer) Roberts. He was retired from the Jackson County Road Commission and was formerly a television repair specialist.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet; two sons, Charles (Marguerite) and Douglas (Robin); three grandchildren, Gregory, Darlene and Tyler Roberts; three great-grandchildren; sister, June Marple; two nieces, Elaine (Norman) Milbourn and Joyce (William) Scott; three nephews, Donald Marple, Robert Marple and Kenneth Marple; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Private services and interment were held in Potterville. Arrangements were by Burden & Sons Funeral Home of Jackson.
