Eduardo A. Botello

Eduardo A. Botello, 72, of Charlotte, died March 13, 2001, at home.

Mr. Botello was born Oct. 18, 1928, to Eulojio C. and Guadalupe (Aguirre) Correa Botello in Brady, Texas. He worked as a line operator at Oldsmobile in Lansing for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the United Auto Workers, Local 652, and St. Ann Catholic Church. He married Betty Jane Morales in May of 1951. She died in 1987.

He is survived by sons, Vico Botello of Lapeer, Ricardo Botello of Lansing, and Roman Botello of Ann Arbor; daughters, Maria E. Massey and Patricia Tichvon of Charlotte, and Anita Botello of Marshall; his mother Guadalupe Correa of Albion; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother Eduardo Ramirez of Buckeye, Ariz; and sisters, Cruz Cordoba of Austin, Texas, Concepcion Vasquez of Austin, Texas, Bacilla Martinez of Meridian, Texas, and Alicia Botello of Albion.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean, stepfather Domingo Correa, and brother Cipriano A. Botello.

Funeral services were held March 17 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bellevue, with Monsignor Raymond Goehring officiating. Interment was at Bosworth Cemetery in Olivet.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church.

Arrangements by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.

Hildred R. Bowser

Hildred Rosalie Bowser, 85, of Charlotte, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001.

Mrs. Bowser was born July 15, 1916 in Vermontville, the daughter of Oscar and Ida Bell (Wells) Stevens. She was an upholsterer with the Charlotte Chair Company and a member of the West Carmel Congregational Church. She enjoyed her family and their activities, crossword puzzles and gardening. She like the senior citizen dinners in Charlotte and Olivet, and especially loved her trips up north to “the shack in Onaway.”

She is survived by daughters, Sandra (John) Rollins of Marshall and Cheryl (Verlin) Franks of Olivet; son, Ronald (Virginia) Bowser of Olivet; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Eloise Thompson of Charlotte and Maxine (Zack) Beard of Battle Creek; brother, Merlin (Martha) Stevens of Sun City, Ariz.; and sister-in-law, Donis Barnett of Charlotte.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; and sisters, Marguerite Bunce and Doris Ranshaw; and brothers, Murray and Hubert Stevens.

Funeral services were held Sept. 11 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. Darwin Kuhl officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte.

Memorial contributions may be made to Olivet Senior Citizens, Eagle Community Dinners or West Carmel Congregational Church; envelopes are available at the funeral home. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home, Inc., Charlotte.

Delbert O. Boyce

Delbert “Jack” Oliver Boyce, 67, of Charlotte, died Sunday, June 17, 2001.

Mr. Boyce was born Oct. 13, 1933 in Detroit, the son of Oliver and Dorothy (Mason) Boyce. He was a machine operator for Oldsmobile before his retirement in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons, David and Richard of New York, and Belinda Bowler of Seattle, Wash.; and stepson, Jerrold Llewellyn of Killeen, Texas; many grandchildren; sisters, Doreene Stahlin and Patricia Sears of Lansing; brothers, Gary of Lansing and Leroy of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Belica Boyce in 1988. Graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home, Inc., Charlotte.

James R. Boyd

James R. Boyd, age 70 of Lansing, died Tuesday morning, December 26, 2000, at his home following a long illness. Mr. Boyd was born August 9, 1930 in Plainwell, a son of Ralph and Mildred (Esseltine) Boyd. He served with the Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Boyd was a retired farmer, retired employee of the Lansing School District and a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Ralph Boyd in 1959.

Surviving are his wife, Betty (Geisenhafer); two children, Royce Ann (Dan) Finegan of Manton and Mark (Robin) Boyd of Dimondale; four grandchildren, Michael, Jamie, Adam and Josh Boyd; two sisters, Marilyn Poff of Arkansas and Jane Bass of Kalamazoo; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were held Friday, December 29th, at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Lansing, with Rev. Geoffrey T. Boyer officiating. Interment was in Dimondale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church or Sparrow Home Hospice. Arrangements were entrusted to Field & Leik Funeral Home, Dimondale.

Lester Leroy Boyt

Lester Leroy Boyt, age 82 of Eaton Rapids, passed away March 25, 2001 in Lansing. Lester was born June 11, 1918 in Essex, MO the son of Newton Issac and Ida Marie (Mahler) Boyt. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Boyt retired from Clark Equipment in Jackson. Lester was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Lee Boyt and son, Terry L. Boyt.

Surviving are a son, William (Krystena) Boyt of Houston, TX; daughter, Patricia (Robert) Broughman of Eaton Rapids; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2001, 7:00 p.m., at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids. Those desiring may make contributions either to Eaton Regional Medical Center Foundation or Ingham Regional Medical Center, Lansing, in memory of Lester L. Boyt.

Patricia L. Bradley

Patricia L. (Seger) Bradley, 50, of Springport died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001 at Foote Hospital in Jackson after a short illness.

Mrs. Bradley was born July 16, 1951 in Eaton Rapids, the daughter of Rex and Georgia (Talbot) Seger, and was a life-long resident of the Springport area. She was a 1969 graduate of Springport High School and had been employed at Spartan Motors, Dowding Tool and most recently at Lee Truck & RV in Jackson.

She is survived by her husband, John Bradley of Springport; daughter, Doria Bradley of Springport; her mother, Georgia Seger of Springport; brother, Gil (Emma) Seger of Springport; and nephew, Lance Seger of Springport; and sister-in-law, Judy Bradley of Payson, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rex Seger.

Funeral services were held Dec. 28 at Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. Scott Brood officiating. Interment was at Bosworth Cemetery, Olivet.

Memorial donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or Ele’s Place. Arrangements were by Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte.

Glenn C. Brandon

Glenn C. Brandon, 54, of Potterville, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001.

Mr. Brandon was born Nov. 3, 1946 in Edmore, the son of Albert and Nellie (Johnson) Brandon. Mr. Brandon was a farmer.

He is survived by brothers, Robert (Carol) of Vermontville, Vern (Susan) of Sheridan, and Ronald and Donald (Donna), both of Charlotte; sisters, Virginia (Reggie) Potter, Sandra (Billy) Eggleston, and Mary (John) Myers, all of Charlotte, Ruth (Fred) Lawcock of Battle Creek, and Dixie (Raymond) Weaver of Barryton; special friend, Betty Speaks of Potterville; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home, Inc., Charlotte.

Pearl I. Brandt

Pearl I. Brandt, 81, of Charlotte, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001.

Mrs. Brandt was born Feb. 21, 1920 in Charlotte, the daughter of Claude and Lucy Huffman Redfield. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She loved her entire family and enjoyed cooking, baking, her flowers and birds, and her dog Chico.

She is survived by threes sons, John (Sue) and Frank Jr. (Corrine), both of Potterville, and Floyd (Connie) of Charlotte; four daughters, Teresa Hammond and Ann Marie (Dan) Martens, both of Charlotte, Judy Hansen of Marshall, and Mary (Marvin) Davis of Mulliken; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, William of Marshall and Delbert of Bellevue.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in October 1998, her son Victor, and son-in-law Marvin.

Funeral mass was held Dec. 12 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Charlotte, with Rev. Fr. Denis Spitzley officiating. Interment was at Benton Township Cemetery, Potterville.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary Catholic Church Building Fund. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home, Inc., Charlotte.

Ernest Lee Brewer

Ernest Lee Brewer, age 55 of Eaton Rapids, died Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at a Lansing hospital. He was born October 17, 1945 in New Albany, Indiana, the son of Ernest Jr. and Jeta (Key) Brewer. Ernie was a Press Operator for Meridian Magnesium Products in Eaton Rapids and had formerly worked for Diamond R.E.O. and Demmer Corp. both in Lansing. He had been a member for over 25 years, and was a Past Ranger with the Independent Order of Foresters Court Wolverine #1229 of Lansing. Preceding him in death were 2 children, Valary and Patrick Brewer; father, Ernest Brewer Jr. and brother, Larry Joe Brewer.

Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; 3 children, Benton (Emily) Brewer of East Lansing, Christy (Henry) Smith of Eaton Rapids and Shelby Brewer of Eaton Rapids; special granddaughter, Fiona Brewer; mother, Jeta Brewer; brother, Gary Lamarr (Kathy) Brewer and sister-in-law, Mary Brewer; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 25th from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with Rev. William Steere of the New Hope Worship Center in Albion officiating. Burial followed in the Munger Cemetery in rural Eaton Rapids. Pallbearers were Ron Cooley, Carl Barkema, Mel Little, Terry Scott, Jerry Ainsworth and Jerry Zieger. For those desiring, a memorial contribution may be made to the New Hope Worship Center of Albion in memory of Earnest L. Brewer.
