Lynn Alan ("Bugs") VanderMoere, Jr.
41, of Charlotte, Michigan, the son of Lynn Alan VanderMoere, Sr. and Karen Hicks VanderMoere Glynn. He is survived by his wife Tracy and three children, Jeremiah, Nathanial, and Seth; his mother, Karen (Pat) Glynn; his father, Lynn (Mary Lee) VanderMoere; two brothers, Scott (Evita) VanderMoere, and Rich (Heather) VanderMoere; sister, Kristy (Shawn) Degner; Grandmother, Phyllis Hicks; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; step brother, David Glynn; step sisters Kellie Glynn and Julie Harmon. He was a 1978 graduate of Charlotte High School and lived most of his life in Charlotte and Potterville. He is a retiree from General Motors. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. Funeral services will be 1:00PM, Wednesday, September 26, 2001, at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Reverend Neal Hicks officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday at Pray Funeral Home. If desired memorial contributions may be made to a trust fund for his children. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Alton R. Olmstead
90 of Charlotte, died Friday, October 5, 2001. Mr. Olmstead was born June 1, 1911 in Bellevue, Illinois, a member of the Crossroads Church of the United Brethren for over 50 years, and he especially enjoyed hunting with the rest of the family. He is survived by son Kenneth (Marie) Olmstead of Burbank, California, Annette (Alan) Baxter of Oregon, Tammy (Matt) McMearty of New York City, Melinda Brenton of Ann Arbor, sister Opal Olmstead of Lansing, half sister Betty Lou Hutchings of Bolivar, Michigan, died Monday, October 8, 2001. Mrs. Wonser was born March 3, 1919, in Eaton County, Michigan with Rev. George Fleming officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Sparrow Foundation Hospice.
Phyllis Bridges
72, of Charlotte, Tennessee, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, brothers Harrod (Phyllis) Hosey & Eldon (Joann) Hosey of Grand Ledge, Archie (Florence) Hosey & Hal Hosey of Charlotte, and Stan (Darlene) Hosey of Vermontville. She was preceded in death by her husband Scott Bridges and sons Bruce and Bill McDiarmid all in 1978, brother Pat Hosey and her dachshund Peanut. The family will receive visitors at the Pray Funeral Home Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte with Pastor Noel Hall-Niemann officiating. Interment will be in Sunfield Cemetery in Sunfield, Michigan, the son of William E. and Anna Marie (Sorenson) Root. He is survived by a nephew, John W. (Ann) Brandon of Charlotte, nieces Carol Ann Sumerix of Eaton Rapids, MI, Sharon Weaver of Olivet, MI, Sally Porter of Colorado, Bonnie Vincent of Manistique, MI., Brenda (Bill) Apt of Bellingham, WA. And Joann Tinsley of Dallas, Michigan with Rev. George Fleming officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grand Rapids. Visitation will be 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2001.
Marle Spencer Clark
76, of Charlotte, Michigan. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Grace (Zimmerman); daughters Connie (James) Parker and Donna (Dennis) Brendahl; 5 grandchildren Pamela Kline, Earl Parker, Derrek, Darren and Denise Brendahl; and 4 great grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenard and Ruby (Spencer) Clark and sister Janice Myers. He served in the Navy during WWII on the Aircraft Carrier USS Belleau Wood and retired from the Lansing Fire Department in 1980. He was an avid Winston Cup and Michigan with R. Raymond Rossell officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Gregory Leroy Johnson
54, of Charlotte, Michigan, the son of Clayton and Marion (Snow) Johnson. He was a 1965 graduate of Charlotte High School, a Vietnam veteran, former GM employee and a truck driver. He is survived by his son Heath of Michigan, died Sunday, October 21, 2001. Mrs. Pease was born March 9, 1925 in Kalamo Township, the daughter of Howard and Athel (Pitt) Oaster. Mrs. Pease attended the Kalamo United Methodist Church and was a 50 year life member and Past Matron of the Kalamo O.E.S, Chapter 399. She was Past President of the Eaton County Association O.E.S., a member of the Association for Retarded Children, and a board member of the EBI Breakthrough. She was Valedictorian of the Bellevue High School Class of 1943 and graduated from Western Vermontville Schools, Myers Country School and was a substitute teacher for many years. She is survived by her husband Edward, daughters Carolyn (Gary) LaCross, Cheryl Pease, Christine Pease, grandchildren Jason LaCross (fiance Melissa Kleeman and her son Tray Hammer), Jill (Adam) Potter, sister Joyce (Bernard) Otto and several nieces and nephews. A sister Eldora Anderson, preceded her in death in 1975. Funeral and O.E.S. memorial services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, October 25 at the Bellevue United Methodist Church in Bellevue with Pastor Mark Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue. Visitation will be 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Bellevue Memorial Scholarship Foundation.

63, of Charlotte, Michigan the daughter of Charles and Frances (Meyers) Uhl. She was President of Eagles Auxiliary Arie #3552 of Charlotte, District Treasurer of Eagles Auxiliary District #11 and Past District President. She enjoyed arts and crafts as a hobby. She is survived by her husband of 33 years Edwin Williams, son Kent E. (Teresa) Williams of Olivet, daughter Kelley (Christopher) Keverne of Charlotte, mother Frances Uhl of Charlotte, brother Lawrence Uhl of Cloverdale, step-daughter Sandy (Curtis) Fraley of Vermontville, step-sons Rick (Judy) Williams of Vermontville, Gary (Vickie Carter) Williams of Springport, step-daughter Trudy Patrick of Charlotte, 18 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Uhl Sr., daughter Kimberly and brother Charles Uhl Jr. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Thursday, October 25, 2001 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte with Charles Jenson officiating. Mildred Kathleen Bartlett
74, of Charlotte, Georgia, son Steve Bartlett of Eaton Rapids, sister June Tracy of Williamston, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Hoyt in 1965, daughter Sandra in 1991, brother Lavern Jr. in 1993, grandchildren Matthew and Amanda in 1976. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2001 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, Michigan, died Thursday, October 25, 2001. Mrs. Troll was born May 23, 1927 in Wagner, South Dakota, the daughter of Karl and Anna (Verba) Brodsky. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Lee Hustler's Extension Club and had worked as a substitute worker at Olivet Community Schools. She loved birds, doing crosswords, working with flowers, cross stitching and her family and friends. She also loved her Czech Polka music. She is survived by her husband Winfred, sons Leonard E. of Marshall, twins John of Charlotte, and James of Metamora, Mark of Olivet, daughter Jean A. Troll of Olivet, 3 grandchildren, brothers Ernest Brodsky of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and Donald Brodsky of Newark, Michigan.

54, of Potterville, Michigan, the son of Albert M. and Nellie E. (Johnson) Brandon. Mr. Brandon was a farmer. He is survived by brothers: Robert (Carol) Brandon of Vermontville, Vern (Susan) Brandon of Sheridan, Ronald Brandon of Charlotte, Donald (Donna) Brandon of Charlotte, sisters: Virginia (Reggie) Potter of Charlotte, Sandra (Billy) Eggleston of Charlotte, Ruth (Fred) Lawcock of Battle Creek, Mary (John) Myers of Charlotte, Dixie (Raymond) Weaver of Barryton and special friend Betty Speaks of Potterville, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. 71, of Mason, Michigan. Mrs. Zimmerman was born July 12, 1930, in Lansing, North Carolina and Ronald Zimmerman of Alabama, five grandchildren, Kimberly, Jason and his wife, Beth, Jeffrey, and Justin Passick, Katrina and her husband, Nicholas Lumsden, two step grandchildren, Corey and DeeDee Zimmerman, five great grandchildren, John, Alex, Abigail, Emily and Adrian, two brothers, Harold Smith of Lansing and John (Bev) Smith of Onendaga, many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 1 P.M. Thursday, November 1st at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. Duane Royston officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids. Visitation will be 2-5 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Viola Irene Papoi
88 of Charlotte, Michigan, the daughter of Arthur and Sena (Peterson) Horn. She worked with her husband at Papoi Automotive Service for many years and had also worked at Wilcox Gay, Heyfeitz Manufacturing. She enjoyed bowling and playing Bingo. She is survived by sons, Robert A. Papoi of Gadsden, Alabama; Michael (Peggy) Papoi of Charlotte, daughter Jeanette Brondstetter of Mt. Pleasant, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Tony in January, 1992. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2001 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte, with R. Raymond Rossell officiating. There will be no visitation. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
