Linda Lou Dickey-Goins
Linda Lou Dickey-Goins, age 57 of Eaton Rapids, died Friday, November 23, 2001 at her residence. She was born July 21, 1944 in Hudson, MI, the daughter of Otha and Minnie Mae (Smith) Moyer. Linda retired in 1999 after 30 years of service for General Motors, Lansing, and she was a member of the U.A.W. Local #652. Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Sherry Jacoby in 1983; and a brother, Jim Moyers.
Surviving are her husband Donald Goins Jr.; 2 children, Michael Jacoby of Eaton Rapids and Nicole (Dale) Harris Jr. of Horton, MI; 4 step-children, Craig Goins of Lansing, Elizabeth (Donald) McClure of Lansing, Brian (Josi) Goins of Dimondale and Scott (Lisa) Goins of Grand Ledge; 11 grandchildren; 9 brothers and sisters, Doris (Roger) Lambright of Hillsdale, Walter “Butch” (Cindy) Moyer of Litchfield, Ray (Nellie) Moyer of Allen, Barb (Albert) Waldron of Camden, Mary (John) Pate of Litchfield, Betty (Kenneth) Hargrove of Missouri, Cathy (Victor) Bustillos of Arizona, Carolyn Norris of Litchfield and Dee Dee (Ira) VanDussen of Holland; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 28th at 1 p.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with Rev. Stephen Klink officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Morna Dillon
Morna (Farr) Dillon, 67, formerly of Charlotte, died June 13, 2001 in Baytown, Texas.
Mrs. Dillon was born March 8, 1934, along with her twin sister Lorna, to Charles and Genevieve Farr. She married Otto Dillon on May 6, 1950 in LaGrange, Ind. She worked in Charlotte at the A & P store before moving to Grayling to run the Circle “D” Riding Stable and Ice Cream Parlor. She later moved to Babytown, Texas, where she did computer set-ups for area hospitals. She loved children, and helped raise several who will miss her deeply.
She is survived by four daughters, Dixie (Dick) Lobsinger, Penney (Ed) Stevenson, Vicky Jackson and Candace Medeiros; sister, Inez (Bob) Gould of Eaton Rapids; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and several brothers and sisters, including her twin sister, Lorna Brummett on June 29, 1976.
Memorial services will be held June 30 at Deepdale Memorial Gardens Chapel, Lansing, at 1 p.m., with Elder Kristine Beckman of the Community of Christ Church in Charlotte officiating. Further information is available at www.BuzzingNeen@webtv.net.
Donald C. Dilno
Donald C. Dilno, 46, of Charlotte, formerly of Bellevue, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2002. Mr. Dilno was born June 12, 1955 in Bellevue, the son of Edson and Juanita (Mead) Dilno, and had been a Charlotte resident for nine years, coming from Bellevue. He was a graduate of Bellevue High School, was employed as a machine operator for the Grand Trunk Railroad for 22 years, and was a member of Charlotte Eagles Aerie #3552. Mr. Dilno was an avid Harley-Davidson man as well as an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Robin Anne (Siefert) Dilno; three children, Jimmy, Kendra and Brooke, all at home; two brothers, Eric of Battle Creek and Marty of Texas; two sisters, Mary Renfrow and Jan Clemens of Texas; and step-father, Joe Daly of Bellevue. Funeral services were held Nov. 9 at Burkhead-Green Funeral Chapel, Charlotte, with Rev. Mark Woodbury officiating. Internment may be made to Charlotte Eagles Aerie #3552. Arlie B. Dimond
Arlie B. Dimond, 80, of Charlotte, died Aug. 11, 2001.
Mr. Dimond was born Sept. 15, 1920 in Hastings, the son of Walter and Flossie Dimond. He was past commander of VFW Maple City Post #2406 and a member of American Legion Post #42. He was in the Military Police during World War II and served in the China-Burma-India Theatre. He retired from Lansing Electric Motors in 1980 after 33 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Maurine; sons, David (Sandy) and John (Joyce), both of Charlotte; daughter, Sandra of Charlotte; stepdaughter, Sandra Bassett of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepson-in-law, Richard (Janet) Brummette of Grand Ledge; two grandsons, Matt (Karla) Dimond and Jason Dimond; two granddaughters, Shelly (Jeff) Kyle and Jennifer (Scott) Shockley; one great-grandson, Hunter Dimond; one great-granddaughter, Ashley Kyle; five step-grandsons and one step-granddaughter; three step-great-grandsons; five step-great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean in 1980; a sister, Mildred Carter; and a brother, James.
Funeral services were held Aug. 15 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. Carol Spangenburg officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte.

Unah E. Dingman
Unah E. Dingman, 84, of Nashville, died Thursday, June 28, 2001 at Tendercare in Hastings.
Mrs. Dingman was born July 23, 1916 in Lakeview, the daughter of William and Grace (Patterson) Stewart. She was raised in southern Michigan and attended area schools. She was married to Howard Dingman in November 1935 in Lansing. In 1943 the couple moved to the Nashville area to pursue dairy farming. Mrs. Dingman was a devoted spouse who was committed to her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as music, playing the piano, doing word searches, and putting together puzzles.
She is survived by sons, Neal (Annetta) Dingman of Hastings, Loren (Margaret) Dingman of St. Ignace and Roger (Bonnie) Dingman of Nashville; daughter, Lois (Bill) Browne of Charlotte; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in by her husband, Howard; brothers, Henry Steward, Garald Stewart, Mylo Stewart and Leo Stewart; and an infant brother, Carl Stewart.
Services were held July 2 at Maple Valley Chapel, Nashville, with Rev. Stutts officiating. Interment was at Wilcox Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements were by Maple Valley Chapel, Nashville.
Clara M. Dossett
Clara Marie Dossett, 91, of LaMesa, California, formerly of Charlotte, died, Friday, June 1, 2001.
Mrs. Dossett was born Aug. 14, 1909, in Eaton County, the daughter of John and Zora (Gidner) Holmes. She was a secretary for Civil Service in the San Diego County Health Department for approximately 30 years.
She is survived by brothers, Kenneth Holmes of Lansing, Wayne Holmes of Ridgewood, N.J.; sisters, Irene Hart of Fullerton, Calif., and Gladys Coats of Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her husband Forrest in 1934, brother Ivan Holmes, and sister Della DuBois.
Funeral services were held June 11 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. George Fleming officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte.
Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home, Inc., Charlotte.
Gary G. Douglas
Gary G. Douglas, 59, of Battle Creek, died Oct. 16, 2001 at Battle Creek Health System.
Mr. Douglas was born April 15, 1942 in Potterville, Calif., the son of Phillip and Gladys (Phelps) Douglas. He served in the U.S. Navy during the early 1960’s. He worked as a journeyman electrician for Eaton Corporation for 14 years, and retired from General Motors in 1996 after working for them for 12 years. Mr. Douglas married Ada Saylor Nov. 22, 1979. He was an avid reader and loved to learn new things. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, hunting, woodworking, cooking, learning geography and history. He coached Little League in Battle Creek. In addition to raising his own children, Mr. Douglass and his wife Ada opened their home to many people in need. They served as foster parents, taking in disabled children and Vietnamese refugee children who had come to the United States without parents. They also worked closely with the Eaton County Shelter Program, an agency that placed homeless individuals and families in private homes between 1988 and 1994. Mr. Douglas assisted dozens of homeless individuals, helping them get on their feet and make a fresh start in life.
He is survived by his wife, Ada; daughters, Dawn (Doug) May, Lisa (Michael) Lemons and Karin Lee of Battle Creek; sons, Bobby Middleton and Joe Middleton of Battle Creek, and Ha (Be) Van Lee of Lansing; and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Scott Douglas. Services will be held Monday, Oct. 22 at Shaw Funeral Home in Battle Creek. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta. Memorial donations may be made to the SIREN/Eaton Shelter in Charlotte. Arrangements were by Shaw Funeral Home, Battle Creek.
Stephen M. Douglas
Stephen (Eagle) M. Douglas, 52, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001.
Mr. Douglas was born May 13, 1949 in Charleston, W.Va., the son of Woodrow Wilson and Wanita (LaFon) Douglas. He was an electrician for Owens Illinois and Spartan Motors.
He is survived by daughters, Michelle (Dennis) Kowalski of Lansing and Josette (Dennis) Jubb of Bath; grandsons, Mason and Hunter; father, Woodrow of Bath; and several cousins, aunts, uncles, and many life-long friends in the Charlotte area.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hepatitis Foundation International or Alcoholics Anonymous. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Keith M. Dowding
Keith M. Dowding, 53, of Battle Creek, died Thursday, May 3 at home.
Mr. Dowding was born Aug. 11, 1947 in Charlotte, to Raymond and Mildred (Greenfield). He graduated from Olivet High School, and served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971, and served in the Army National Guard for several years. He was employed by Campbell Soup Company in Marshall.
He is survived by daughters, Nicole Schultz of Jackson, Lisa Upton of Battle Creek, and Maegan Dowding of Bellevue; two grandchildren; and brother, Bruce of Olivet. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald. Services were held May 8 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, with Pastor B. Mason Shambach officiating.
