Cecil J. Wotring
Dr. Cecil Jarvis Wotring, Ed.D., 83, of Richland, died July 16, 2001.
Dr. Wotring was born in Matemora, Ohio, on Aug. 19, 1917, the son of Cecil Jarvis and Lucy Ione (Newcomb) Wotring Sr. He was Phi Delta Kapa, he had a bachelor of arts degree from Adrian, a master’s degree in speech from the University of Michgian, and a Ph.D. – doctor of education – degree from Michigan State University. He was an assistant principal at Charlotte High School, where he taught English, drama and speech. He was a principal at Allegan High School, and then a professor at Central Michigan, where he taught and worked with student teachers. During the 20 years he lived in Bradenton, Fla., he was active in his church and sang in the choir, as he did throughout his life. As a resident of Wyndam Senior Apartments, he sang in the men’s chorus.
He is survived by his wife, Violet Louise (Burk), whom he married November 23, 1939; two daughters, Rowena (Tom) Collin of Richland, and Cessily (Leland) Thalacker of Southfield; grandchildren, Morgan and Christina Collins, and Shannon and Michael Tijan; and a graet-granddaughter, Tori Tijan. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services were held July 18 at Gull Lake Area Community Church, Richland, with Pastor Shan Martin officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Gull Lake Area Community Church. Arrangements were by Parchment Redman Funeral Home, Kalamazoo.
Anna L. Wright
Anna L, Wright, 95, of Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2001.
Mrs. Wright was born Aug. 4, 1905 in Germany, the daughter of Michael and Amelia Baltzer, and live most of her life in the Charlotte area, except 20 years when she lived at Turk Lake near Greenville. She was a charter member of the First Lutheran Church in Charlotte and its Elizabeth Guild.
She is survived by five children; Katherine Howard, and Janet Bryner, both of Charlotte, Henry (Alice) Wright of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., Beverly (Charles) Hadley of Zephyr Hills, Fla., and Sally Buckley of Belding; 17 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Biltzer Jr. of Bushnell Fla.; and sisters, Hilda Claghorne of Inverness, Fla., and Mildred Wright and of Mt. Pleasant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Wright; son, Ernest “Sonnie” Wright; two grandsons, Jimmy Wright and Gary Howard; two great-grandsons, Darren Partridge and Chuckie Hadley III; and great-great-grandson, Chuckie Hadley IV.
Funeral services were held June 23 at First Lutheran Church, Charlotte, with Pastor Timothy Olson officiating. Interment was at Deepdale Memorial Park, Lansing.

Betty J. Wright
Betty Jean Wright, 77, of Charlotte, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001.
Mrs. Wright was born Aug. 11, 1924 in Charlotte, the daughter of James and Estella (Ripley) Smith. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and spending time with her family.
She is survived by daughters, Joan (Glen) Sinclair of Bellevue, Linda (Pat) Dickinson of Vermontville and Karen (Keith) McCallum of Olivet; sons, Jerry Sr. (Myrna) Smith of Bellevue, Ronald Wright Jr. of Lansing and Fred Wright (fiancé Donna) of Charlotte; 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; and sister, Racheal Beard of Nashville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Wright Sr. in December 1989; daughter, Sharon Wright; daughter-in-law, Linda Wright; and granddaughters, Carrie Dickinson and Tonya Wright.
Funeral services were held Dec. 29 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Charles Jenson officiating. Interment was at Gresham Cemetery, Charlotte. Arrangements were by Pray Funeral Home, Inc., Charlotte.
Ella R. Wright
Ella Rose Wright, 55, of Eaton Rapids, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001 in Charlotte.
She was born Nov. 16, 1945 in Pikeville, Ky. She was a member of the Wednesday Night Card Club for over 20 years. She loved to read, and bowl with her family, and Friday nights were a special family tradition.
She is survived by three daughters, Michele (James) Carroll of Eaton rapids, Karin Trowbridge of Charlotte and Amy Hinkinson of Battle Creek; son-in-law, Ryan Trowbridge of Battle Creek; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Jacob and Justin Carroll, and Joey and Tyler Hinkinson; her morther, Essie (Tackett) Richardson of Lansing; five brothers, Ruby (Rhonda) Richardson of Lansing, Ray (Betty) Richardson of Holt, Albert (Leah) Richardson Jr., both of Lansing; two sisters, Linda Richardson and Tami (Jeff) Droste, both of Lansing; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cletis Richardson.
Funeral services were held Oct. 13 at Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids, with Rev. Annette Baker officiating. Interment was at Glendale Cemetery, Okemos.

Margaret A. Wyne
Margaret Anna Wyne, 81, of Charlotte, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001.
She was born Dec. 15, 1919 in reading the daughter of Walter and Rae (Whaley) Eggleston. She was a nurse and homemaker and graduated from the Henry Ford School of Nursing. She survived in the U.S. Army Nursing Corps during World War II.
She is survived by sons, Donald (Christine) of Howell; Norman of Longwood, Fla., and daughter, Janet (John Norman) Reed of Potterville.
Funeral services were Feb. 15 at Pray Funeral Home with Rev. Darwin Kuhl officiating. Interment was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte.

Gertrude M. Wyrick
Gertrude M. Wyrick, 86, of Olivet died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001 after an extended illness.
Mrs. Wyrick was born in Hastings, the daughter of Glen and Mildred (Runchey) VanPatton and had been an Olivet resident for 65 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce (Ernest) Beadle of Battle Creek and Marge Bensinger of Olivet; one son, Duane “Pete” Wyrick of Fowlerville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Hazel Hendrickson of Battle Creek, Gladys Dunn of Bellevue and Helen Barr of Goldendale, Wash. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Wyrick in 1981, and a daughter, Donna Wyrick.
Funeral services were held Oct. 27 at Burkehead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue. Memorial contributions may be made to the Olivet Fire Department First Responders.
Anita M. Zentmyer
Anita M. Zentmyer, age 85 of Eaton Rapids, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2001 in the Sparrow/ Dimondale Center where she resided since October of 1999. She was born on February 9, 1916 in Kalamo, MI, the daughter of Leatha and Milton Bradley. She had resided on the family farm, located on Petrieville Hwy. since 1944. Mrs. Zentmyer was active in the farming business, and was a member of the Homemaker’s Extension Club, Ladies Aid Society, Farm Bureau and the First United Methodist Church in Eaton Rapids.
Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Harry; 2 sons, Milton (Naomi) Zentmyer of Sante Fe, N.M., Errol (Nancy) Zentmyer of Delray Beach, FL; daughter, Norma (Richard) Johnson of South Bend, IN; 8 grandchildren, Brad Zentmyer of Las Vegas, Julie Tafralian of Las Vegas, NV, Barbara Zentmyer of Kalamazoo, MI, Tom Zentmyer of Marcellus, MI, Cheryl Smith of Eaton Rapids, Brain Johnson of Warsaw, MO, Susan Callender of Olympis, WA, and Diane Wirth of Osceola, IN; 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 7, 2001 from the First Methodist Church, Eaton Rapids, with Rev. Tom Evans officiating. Interment followed in the Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society in memory of Anita M. Zentmyer.
Blanche N. Zimmerman
Blanche N. Zimmerman, 71, of Mason, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001 in Lansing.
Mrs. Zimmerman was born July 12, 1930 in Lansing, the daughter of Floyd and Charlotte (Williams) Smith. She had been employed by Dart Container Corp. for 36 years. She especially loved her family, dancing, and work.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Donald) Passick of Charlotte; two step-sons, Lou (Alice) Zimmerman of North Carolina and Ronald Zimmerman of Alabama; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Jason (Beth), Jeffery and Justin Passick, Katrina (Nicholas) Lumsden; two step-grandchildren, Corey and DeeDee Zimmerman;; five great-grandchildren, John, Alex, Abigail, Emily, and Adrian; two brothers, Harold Smith of Lansing and John (Bev) Smith of Onondaga; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Nov. 1 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. Duane Royston officiating. Interment was at Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids.
