Warren W. White
Warren W. White, 76, of Haslett, died Dec. 28, 2000.
Mr. White was born Aug. 12, 1924 in Lansing, the son of John and Sylvia (Stewart) White.
Surviving are his fiancée, Donna Smith of Haslett; three daughters, Coreen (Dade) Schultz of Charlotte, Alisa (Terry) Leek of Warsaw, Ind., and Dawn (Andy) Awale of Tucson, Ariz; son, James (Shelley) White of Grand Ledge; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and sister, Barb of Okemos.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine in 1982, and close friend, Connie Hull in 1993.
A family memorial service is planned.

Jennifer L. Whitmore
Jennifer Lee Whitmore, 17, of Vermontville, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001 in Charlotte as the result of an auto accident.
Jennifer was born in Lansing, the daughter of Kim and Barbara (Davidson) Whitmore. She was a lifelong Vermontville resident. She was currently a member of the junior class at Maple Valley High School where she had participated in softball, volleyball and basketball.
She is survived by her parents; brother, Jason Bryant; grandparents; Betty Whitmore, and Thelma and Jim Davidson; all of Charlotte; uncle, Orval (Robin) Whitmore; six aunts, Christine (Doug) Polhamus of Eaton Rapids, Teresa (Dale) Horn of Lansing, Loretta (Gordon) Shepard of Charlotte, Joyce Dean of Fremont, Ind., Ellie Potter of Plymouth, Ind., and Karen (Brent) Powell of Lake Odessa.
Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at Burkhead-Green Funeral Chapel, Charlotte, with Rev. Deano Lamphere of Nashville, Baptist Church officiating. Interment was at Kalamo Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Maple Valley Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Agnes C. Williams
Agnes Cora Williams, 89, of Convis Township, died Sept. 8, 2001 at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility.
Mrs. Williams was born May 27, 1912, the daughter of George and Gertrude (Ford) Trick in Barry County. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1930, and from Western State Teachers College. Mrs. Williams was employed as a teacher in several one-room schools and for the Dexter Public Schools, from which she retired. She was employed as a licensed practical nurse for Community Hospital for many years, and also retired from there. She married Cloyd Williams on Feb. 14, 1941 at Hickory Corners; he died in 1974. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, pets, flower gardening, making porcelain dolls, and enjoyed many other crafts.
She is survived by sons, Richard G. Williams of Pinckney and Robert Williams of Manchester; daughter, Sharon Walker of Battle Creek, Dorothy (Diane) Rizor of Marshall and Sandra Krull of Ann Arbor; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Williams in 1980, and her sister, Dorothy Gilbert in 1968.
Services were held Sept. 11 at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue, with Pastor David Litchfield of Convis United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was at Hickory Corners Cemetery.
Caroline E. Williams
Caroline “Grandma Carol” Edna Williams, 77, of Potterville, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001.
Mrs. Williams was born April 27, 1923 in Wanamingo, Minn., the daughter of Charles and Ruth Laura (Lamb) Nute.
Surviving are three daughters, Jacqueline Sweet of Potterville, Nancy (Ken) Albright of Lansing, and Edna Mae Nute of Willitson, Fla.; brother, Roy (Bobbie) Russell of Lansing; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Jeffrey Sweet; brother, Frank; and sisters, Emma, Elizabeth, Helen and Mildred.
Funeral services were held Jan. 5 at the Potterville United Methodist Church, Potterville, with Rev. Paul Bailey officiating. Interment was at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Lansing. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Charlene S. Williams
Charlene Shirley (Uhl) Williams, 63, of Charlotte, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001.
Mrs. Williams was born Dec. 14, 1937 in Eaton County, the daughter of Charles and Frances (Meyers) Uhl. She was president of Eagles Auxiliary District #11 and past district president. She enjoyed arts and crafts as a hobby.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Edwin Williams; son, Kent (Teresa) Williams of Olivet; daughter, Kelley (Christopher) Keverne of Charlotte; mother, Frances Uhl of Charlotte; brother, Lawrence Uhl of Cloverdale; step-daughter, Sandy (Curtis) Fraley of Vermontville; step-sons, Rick (Judy) Williams of Vermontville and Gary (Vickie Carter) Williams of Springport; step-daughter, Trudy Patrick of Charlotte; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Uhl Sr.; daughter, Kimberly; and brother, Charles Uhl Jr.
Funeral services were held Oct. 25 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Charles Jenson officiating. Interment will be at Gresham Cemetery at a later date.

Gleason R. Williams
Gleason R. Williams, 80, of Grand Ledge, passed away Aug. 1, 2001 at his residence.
Mr. Williams was a lifelong area resident of Grand Ledge, a retired employee of General Motors after 31 years of service, and a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army with the 832nd Ordinance Brigade. He was a loving father, grandpa and great-grandpa, as well as an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by three daughters, Cathy (Bob) Beutler, JoAnn Bellet and Glenda (Jay) Kotlark, all of Grand Ledge; one son, Randy Williams of Grand Ledge; seven grandchildren, Amy (Nate) Fisher, Randy and Ryan Williams, Jim (Elissa) Bellet, Liz Bellet, and Adam and Amanda Kotlark; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Jake Fisher; two brothers, Harold Jr. (Alice) Williams and Garry Williams; and two sisters, Romah (Jack) Carney and Wava Carberry.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Evelyn in 1998; grandson, Doug; and a sister, Audrey Flory.
Funeral services were held Aug. 4 at Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge, with Rev. W.J. “Bill” Amundsen officiating. Military graveside services were conducted by the Lansing VFW Post #701 at North Eagle Cemetery, Eagle Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sparrow Hospice or Michigan United Conservation Club. Arrangements were by Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge.
Laban Burdette Williams
Laban B. Williams, age 91, died at his home on Friday, August 24, 2001. Mr. Williams was born August 28, 1909 on Thuma Road in Brookfield Township, six miles southwest of Eaton Rapids. He was one of four children born to Thomas T. and Martha (Hoyt) Williams. Laban attended the Wilcox School through the eighth grade and graduated from the Eaton Rapids High School in 1928. On October 15, 1930, Laban married Dorothy Clarke, his high school sweetheart, the daughter of Fred and Delia Clarke. They lived and worked the farm with his father one year, until September of 1931. He then went to work for his sister-in-law, Marion Sumerix, who owned and operated Sumerix Grocery Store in Eaton Rapids. He worked there until the spring of 1941 when he went to work at Nash Kelvinator in Lansing, building four-bladed variable-pitch propellers for B-52 bombers during World War II. At the end of the war in November of 1945, he hired in at Oldsmobile in Lansing and worked there for 26 years, until retirement on October 1, 1971. Laban also spent many years farming. Preceding him in death was his wife Dorothy in 1991; his son, Lyle in 1993; and two brothers, Leo and Clifton Williams.
Surviving are his daughter, Donna (Richard) Miller of Eaton Rapids; daughter-in-law, Jackie (William) Kasten of Eaton Rapids; sister, Naomi Ward of Camarillo, CA; six grandchildren, Shari (Mike) Bambrick, Tom (Jamie) Williams, Julie (Bruce) Brantley, Mark Miller, Kelly (Tom) Smith, and Denise (Mark) Perkins; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2001 at 1 p.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with the Rev. Tom Evans of the First United Methodist Church officiating. For those desiring, memorial gifts may be made to the Eaton Rapids Medical Center, of which Laban was a life member, he had great admiration for the doctors and nurses.
Olive L. Williams
Olive L. Williams, 92, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Bellevue, died Oct. 28, 2001 in Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Williams was born March 10, 1909, the daughter of Wesley and Ida (Nichols) Dean in Mercer County, Mo.
She is survived by son, Wayne (Eunice) Covey of Marshall; sister, Deloris Sawyer of Trenton, Mo.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, and a daughter, Ruby.
Graveside services were held at Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue, with Pastor Steven Covert officiating. Arrangements were by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.
