Lola M. Reese
Lola M. Reese, 74, of Eaton Rapids, died Friday, April 20, 2001 at her residence following a long illness.
Mrs. Reese was born Feb. 20, 1927 in Charlotte, the daughter of William and Georgia (Langdon) Livingston.
Surviving are two daughters, Gail (David) Strank and Vicki (Marvin) Ellsworth, both of Eaton Rapids; eight grandchildren, Laura and Peter Strank, Debra (Nick) Tupper, Douglas (Bonnie) Ellsworth, Daniel (Karie) Ellsworth, Shad Ellsworth, Luke Ellsworth and Elizabeth Ellsworth; 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruthe Gibbs of Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; grandchildren, Wayne and Wendy Strank; parents, William and Georgia Livingston.
Funeral services were held April 23 at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids, with Re. Stephen Klink officiating.

Edward P. Rennaker
Edward P. Rennaker of Eaton Rapids was born December 17, 1919 in Marion, IN and died July 3, 2001 at the age of 81. Mr. Rennaker was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army, and had retired from Federal Drop Forge after 36 years of service. He was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Betty Lou and Kathleen.
Surviving are 1 daughter, Amy (Harold) Hath of Webberville; 2 sons, Dan (Brenda) Rennaker of Grand Ledge and Larry (Jane) Rennaker of Springport; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Wellman (Mildred) Rennaker; and 1 sister-in-law, Betty Rennaker.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 6, at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Lansing Chapel, Lansing. Interment followed in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing. Those desiring may make contributions to the charity of their choice in memory of Mr. Rennaker.
Cecelia A. Reynolds
Cecelia A. Reynolds, 88, of Charlotte, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001.
Mrs. Reynolds was born July 15, 1913 in St. Charles, the daughter of Minor and Jennie (Nelson) Stevens and had been an Eaton County resident for 65 years. She was a graduate of St. Charles High School, a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and a retired employee of the Eaton County Medical Care Facility in Charlotte. She had also worked at the former Wilcox-Gay Co. in Charlotte.
She is survived by two sons, Harry (Phyllis) Reynolds of Olivet and James (Sally) Reynolds of Stockbridge; one daughter, Vivian (William) Carpenter of LaSalle; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loris Reynolds in 1986, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Oct. 29 at Burkhead-Green Funeral Chapel, Charlotte, with Rev. Darwin Kuhl officiating. Interment was at West Carmel Cemetery, Charlotte.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements were by Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Harry M. Reynolds
Harry M. Reynolds Sr., 64, of Olivet, formerly of Lansing and Charlotte, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001 at his home after an extended illness.
Mr. Reynolds was born Oct. 13, 1937 in Lansing, the son of Loris and Cecelia (Stevens) Reynolds, and had been an Olivet resident for 10 years, coming from Lansing. He was a 1955 graduate of Charlotte High School and a bricklayer by trade. He was a member of Lansing Local #9 Bricklayers & Allied Crafts Union and the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, Mt. Pleasant.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (McCoy) Reynolds; five children, Sharon (Jack) Irons of Mendon, Harry (Tracy) Reynolds Jr. of Olivet, Terry Gruhn of Lansing, Michael (Linda) Reynolds Sr. of Olivet and Sheila Hinken of Charlotte; 10 grandchildren; brother, James (Sally) Reynolds of Stockbridge; and sister, Vivian (William) Carpenter of LaSalle.
He was preceded in death by two children, Mary Reynolds and Michael Gruhn; father, Loris Reynolds on March 3, 1986; and his mother, Cecelia Reynolds on Oct. 25, 2001.
Funeral services were held Oct. 31 at Burkhead-Green Funeral Chapel, Charlotte, with Rev. Darwin Kuhl officiating. Interment was at West Carmel Cemetery, Charlotte.
Memorial contributions may be made to those affected by the Sept. 11 World Trade Center tragedy. Arrangements were by Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Evelyn M. Rhodes
Evelyn Marie Rhodes, 59, of Vermontville, died Monday, July 9, 2001 at her home.
Mrs. Rhodes was born Dec. 10, 1941 in Mason, the daughter of William and Ruby (Purdy) Ward. She attended Maple Valley Adult Education, graduating in 1985. She was married to Russell Rhodes in November 1959, in Leslie. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing solitaire on the computer and working with plastic canvas.
She is survived by her mother, Ruby (Purdy) Ward of Stockbridge; sons, Russell (Susan) Rhodes II and Daniel Rhodes, both of Vermontville, and Christopher Rhodes and Robert Rhodes, both of Nashville and Crystal Rhoades of Vermontville; brothers, James Ward of Leslie and William Ward of East Lansing; sister, Judy Taylor of Florida; and 20 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Ward; husband, Russell T. Rhodes; brothers, George Ward and Richard Ward; daughter, Theresa Rhodes; and a grandson, Andrew Wymer.
Services were held at Maple Valley Chapel, Nashville. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Vermontville.

Thelma M. Rice
Thelma Mae Rice, 96, of Charlotte, formerly of Bellevue, died July 24, 2001 at Tendercare West in Lansing.
Mrs. Rice was born Feb. 2, 1905 to Howard and Beulah (Bradley) Chushing in Bellevue Township. She married Otis Rice on June 21, 1923; he died July 3, 1978. She was a member of the Assembly of God in Charlotte. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by son, Estel Rice of Bellevue; daughters, Leatrice Lattavo of Boyton Beach, Fla., and Aileen Hartney of Bradenton, Fla.; and seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Alma Wintchell and Hazel Cortney; and a brother, Lloyd Chushing.
Graveside services were held July 27 at Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue, with Pastor Wendell Stine officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Eaton Community Hospice Care. Arrangements were by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.
Justice W. Richardson
Justice W. Richardson, infant son of Thomas James “T.J.” and Wendee Sue (Niblack) Richardson of Potterville, passed away April 30, 2001 at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing.
He is survived by his parents; sister, Danielle; brother, Noble; grandfathers, Stewart Niblack of Hillsdale and Lonny Richardson of Florida; great-grandmother, Lucille Williams of Hudson; great-grandfather, Jack Richardson of Florida; aunts and uncles, Bob Richardson of Pennsylvania, Bill (Darcy) Niblack of Adrian, Scott (Kim) Niblack of Fowlerville, Denise (Jim) McCormack of Holland, and Shawn (Carol) of St. Charles, Mo.; great aunt, Lois Williams of Hudson; and many cousins.
Services were held May 4 at St. Peters Catholic Church, Eaton Rapids, with Father Ben officiating. Arrangements by Dillingham Liverance Niblack Funeral Home, Fowlerville.
Phyllis B. Richardson
Phyllis Beryl Richardson, 87, of Springport, died Saturday, March 17, 2001.
Mrs. Richardson was born Dec. 9, 1913 in Jackson County, the daughter of Burr and Ruth (Gamble) Wood. She was former owner, from 1966 for 32 years, of Camp Arrowhead in Grayling. She also enjoyed deer hunting with her sons and was an excellent homemaker and mother.
She is survived by daughter, Joyce (Charles) Coats of Springport; sons, Victor (Joan) Richardson of Concord, Jack (Kathy) Richardson of Eaton Rapids; and daughter-in-law, Terry Richardson of Charlotte; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Noveda Jones, Feleniece Miller, Oral (Jack) Pruden, Genevieve (Harry) Eno, Joanne (Barton) Jones, all of Charlotte; and brother, Lewis Wood of Eaton Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Richardson in 1985; son, Carroll Richardson in 1993; and brother, Leon Wood.
Funeral services were held March 20, with Kevin Hale officiating. Interment was at Draper Cemetery, Rives Twp.
