Ellenora Hill
Ellenora Marvella Hill, 78, of Charlotte died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999. Mrs. Hill was born March 23, 1920 in Pontiac, the daughter of William and Huldah (Housel) Hood.
She is survived by her son, Eugene (Rita) Fancher of Charlotte; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harley (Geraldine) Hood of Lansing.
Services were held Jan. 25 at the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte with the Rev. Arthur Salisbury officiating. Interment was in Perry Cemetery.
Frances M. Hill
Frances M. (Page) Hill, 70, of Olivet, formerly of Charlotte died March 31, 1999 at the St. Lawrence Dimondale Center.
Mrs. Hill was born near Eaton Rapids, the daughter of Francis and Meta (Jacox) Page and was a lifelong Eaton County resident. She was a graduate of Potterville High School, attended Michigan State University. She had been a school teacher, having taught in the Oakley and San Diego, Calif. school systems and for about 20 years in the Charlotte school system at Washington Elementary. She was a life member of the Potterville Order of Eastern Star, the Michigan Education Association, and Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel. She retired in 1982 after 30 years of teaching.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred; one daughter, Gail (Wayne) Sleeman of Charlotte; one son, Eric of Lansing; one granddaughter, Chelsea Sleeman; three brothers, Leo (Barbara) Page of Hastings, Harry (Mary) Page of Baldwin and Garry (Marsha) Page of Iron Mountain; and her mother-in-law, Edith Thrasher of Holt.
Services were April 3 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Chapel, Charlotte, with the Rev. George Fleming officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
Shirley Hill
Shirley Agnes Anna Hill, 59, of Vermontville, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999.
Mrs. Hill was born June 10, 1939 in Lansing; the daughter of Sherl and Loretta (Tortou) Wicker.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie; son, Wesley A. Hill of Fort Lauderdale, FL; 3 grandchildren; sisters, Pat Holmes of Grand Ledge, Angie Brown of Lansing; brothers, Dick Wicker, Lyle Wicker, Gary Wicker, Roger Wicker and Jeff Wicker all of Lansing.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999 at Pray Funeral Home with Daniel Smith officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Vermontville.
Florence Hillard
Florence Aileen Hillard, 62, of Charlotte died Nov. 27, 1999.
Mrs. Hillard was born Feb. 19, 1937 in Eaton County, the daughter of Arthur and Nina (Baker) Satterly. She worked at Michigan Magnetics of Vermontville as an assistant foreman.
She is survived by one daughter, Tina (Lee) Buckmaster of Charlotte; two sons, Jay (Geraldine) and Lewis (Kimberly), both of Charlotte; six grandchildren, Laura Hillard, Jay Hillard II, James Hillard, Emily Hillard, Sarah Buckmaster, Erin Buckmaster; and sister, Audrey (Clare) Steward of Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert in 1994, and one brother, David Satterly in 1999.
Services were Nov. 30 at the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Pastor Mark Ralph officiating. Interment was in the Gresham Cemetery, Eaton County.

W. John Hilliard
W. John Hilliard, age 86, died Thursday, September 23, 1999 in Lansing. John was born April 3, 1913 in Eaton Rapids, living at the same residence for over 80 years. He was the son of William and Susan (Brandon) Hilliard. He was a lifelong farmer.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Thelma (White) Hilliard of Eaton Rapids; two daughters, Elizabeth (Don) Janecke and Phyllis (Phil) Brooks; son, Kenneth Hilliard and Ken’s special friend (Them) of Sacramento, CA; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Dorothy Hilliard; and brother-in-law, Willard Desgrange, both of Eaton Rapids. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Elizabeth (Shepardson) Desgrange and brother, George Hilliard.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 27, 1999 at the Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids, with Rev. Donald Thomson officiating. Interment followed at Munger Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the Eaton Rapids Senior Center or the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, P.O. Box 30480, Lansing MI 48909-9986. The family would like to express their gratitude to the caring staff and volunteers at the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan for the very loving care received by our husband and father.
Ethel Mae Hine
Ethel Mae Hine, beloved mother and grandmother, 91, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999. Mrs. Hine was born Jan. 26, 1908 in VanWert, Ohio, the daughter of Owen and Birdie (Brown) Eller.
She was a life member of the Capital City Old Car Club and had held membership in numerous other car clubs along with her husband “Ollie”. Ethel enjoyed sewing for her family, which included clothes, dolls and even wedding dresses. She was bookkeeper and part owner of the H & H Garage.
She is survived by son Jack (Joan) Hine; daughter, Elaine Lenon; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mable Wheeler.
She was preceded in death by her husband Oliver in 1985 and son Richard in 1983. Funeral services were held Thursday at Pray Funeral Home. Interment was held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids.

Harry Hisler
Harry (Bud) Hisler, 71, of Narrow Lake, Springport, died Saturday, July 31, 1999 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Hisler was born in Brookfield Twp., Eaton County, the son of Harry and Blanche (McDonald) Hisler, and was a lifelong Brookfield Twp. resident. He was a 1946 graduate of Olivet High School and held memberships in the Marshall Moose Lodge, the Duck Lake Farm Bureau Community Group, and the Springport Men’s Club. He was a lifelong farmer and worked at the Aluminum Extrusions/Hoover Co. in Charlotte for 27 years. He has also worked at Behnke Plumbing in Charlotte and the Springport Grain Elevator. He married Dorma Harris on July 13, 1952.
Surviving are his wife, Dorma; two sons, Clayton (Lisa) Hisler of Kalamazoo and Scott (Sara) Hisler of Marshall; two daughters, Gina (Jack) Irelan of Marquette and Karla Hisler of Kentwood; seven grandchildren, Jerrid and May Hisler, Chad, Kristi, and Laci Irelan, and Nathaniel and Erica Hisler; his mother, Blanche Hisler of Springport; three sisters, Kathryn Stevens of Bellevue, Charlotte Dowding of Charlotte, and Virginia (Darrell) Hicks of Charlotte; mother-in-law, Margaret Harris of Olivet; sister-in-law, Myrna (Miles) Shrontz of Coral Springs, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Aug. 3, 1999 at Burkhead-Green Funeral Chapel, Charlotte, with Pastor Deano Lamphere and Pastor Charles Harrison officiating. Interment was at Bosworth Cemetery.

Virgil Hock
Virgil J. Hock, 85, died March 1, 1999 in Sebring, Fla., formerly of Sunfield.
Mr. Hock was born in Dayton, Ohio, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1976, coming from Sunfield. He retired from General Motors after 23 years as a welder; was a member of American Legion Post #25 in Lake Placid; was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II; and a Protestant by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; two daughters, Debra Laycock of Webberville and Sandy Echmeier of Okemos; two sons, James of Bellevue and Vern of Lansing; two stepsons, Harold Eastman of Walstonbury, N.C. and Arlo Eastman of Greenville, N.C.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Wednesday, May 19 from 6-8 p.m. at the Rosier Funeral Home, Mapes-Fisher Chapel, Sunfield. Graveside services are Thursday, May 20 at 2 p.m. at the Sunfield Cemetery.
