Dorothy A. Fox
Dorothy Adelle Fox, 79, of Charlotte died June 5, 1997.
Mrs. Fox was born July 12, 1917, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Erwin L. and Lillian Mae (Leeak) Dickmeyer. She moved to Iowa at the age of 4 and graduated from high school at Burt, Iowa, in 1934. She was a bookkeeping machine operator and accountant for the state of Michigan from 1946-77.
She is survived by her husband, Howard; one son, Richard (Julia); two granddaughters, Michelle and Dawn; one sister, Maxine; and two brothers, Dale and Ordel.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford.
Services were June 9 at the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with the Rev. George Fleming officiating. Arrangements were made by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.

Louis W. Fradette II
Louis W. “Bud” Fradette II, 76, of Charlotte died April 25, 1997.
Mr. Fradette was born April 10, 1921, in Prairie Du Chien, Wis. He was a retired teamster and drove truck for A. W. Arthur Company, Howard Sober and C & J for 31 years. He also worked in heavy construction for many years. He was a member of the Charlotte Eagles Aeries #3552.
He is survived by his wife, Grace; three daughters, Ethel Marie (Dale) Wright of Garnavillo, Iowa, Joanne (Ron) Nagle of Eastman, Wis. and Gale (Robert) Slane of Wausau, Wis.; three sons, Dale of Prairie Du Chien, Wis., Donald (Joanne) of Milford and Louis III (Brenda) of Charlotte; 13 grandchildren; one sister, Edna Scoville of Desoto, Wis., and one brother, Frank of Prairie Du Chien, Wis.
He was preceded in death by one son, Frances.
Services were April 30 at the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with the Rev. Noel Hall-Niemann officiating.
Doris May Fraley
Doris M. Fraley, 45, of Eaton Rapids died June 11, 1997, in Jackson.
Mrs. Fraley was born March 30, 1952, the daughter of Scott M. and Bertha V. (Taylor) Bibler.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; daughter, Tonya; 3 sons, Tommy, Timy, and Todd; 7 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Grover (Pauline), Scott, and John; 4 sisters, Carol, Louise (Charles), Alice (Dusty), and Peggy (Gene).
Services were held on June 13 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids, with Rev. Stephen Klink officiating. Interment followed at Springport Cemetery.
Arthur L. Francis
Arthur L. Francis, 85, of Charlotte died May 8, 1997.
Mr. Francis was born Feb. 10, 1912, in Bentley, the son of Archie and Mae (Green) Francis. He owned Art’s Barber Shop on main street in Charlotte and was a barber for 45 years until his retirement at the age of 70. He was a member of the Charlotte Country club.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three daughters, Penny (Eugene) McGroth of Springfield, Va., Judy Hackett (Dr. Paul Hyink) of Grand Rapids, and Molly Francis of Chicago, Ill.; one son, Timothy (Cindy) Francis of Charlotte; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons; one brother, Kenneth (Ruth) Francis of Bay City; and one sister, Leola Stageman of Clarkston.
Services were May 12 at the Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church, Charlotte, with the Rev. George Fleming officiating. Interment was in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte. Arrangements were made by the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.

Jack T. Gallagher
Jack T. Gallagher, 74, of Eaton Rapids died April 6, 1997, in Eaton Rapids.
Mr. Gallagher was born Aug. 16, 1922, in Lansing, the son of Gordon and Margaret (VanAmburg) Gallagher. He was a member of St. Peter Church, Eaton Rapids, and a graduate of Resurrection High School, Class of 1942. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp. and a member of the VFW. He retired from Motor Wheel in 1980 after 34 years of service.
He is survived by three daughters, Kay (Jim) Cole of Eaton Rapids, Sueanne Hackett of Lansing and Patricia (Mark) Willett of Holt; three sons, John, Robert and Ronald all of Eaton Rapids; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Gordon Gallagher of Ohio; two sisters, Joanne (Jack) Puffer of Pennsylvania and Joyce Eavey of Lansing; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, in 1982.
Services were April 9 at St. Peter Church, Eaton Rapids. Interment was in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing. Arrangements were made by the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids.

Ron L. Gamble
Ron L. Gamble, 45, of Bellevue died Feb. 19, 1997, at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Gamble was born June 20, 1951, in Battle Creek, the son of Hugh and Doris (Morrison) Gamble. He was a graduate of Bellevue High School and had been employed as a master mechanic for the state of Michigan, where he serviced state vehicles. He had previously been employed by the city of Battle Creek Motor Division. He married Elaine Smith July 22, 1978.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; one son, Don, at home; two daughters, Dawn and Deann, both at home; his mother, Doris Gamble of Bellevue; one brother, Jim of Bellevue; and two sisters, Mary Gamble and Johanna Keyworth, both of Bellevue.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh, April 14, 1993.
Services were Feb. 22 at the Shaw-Lehman Funeral Home, Bellevue. Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue.

Carl D. Garity
Carl D. Garity, 83, of Olivet died April 28, 1997, at the Marshall Manor, Marshall, after an extended illness.
Mr. Garity was born in Marshall Township, Calhoun County, the son of Pierce and Zadia (Rial) Garity and was a lifelong Olivet and Bellevue area resident. He had been employed by Air Way Manufacturing Company in Olivet retiring in 1977 after 15 years of service. Previously, he had been employed at the Oliver Corporation in Battle Creek. He was a member of the Ainger Bible Church.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma (Struble); two sons, David (Kay) Garity of Bellevue and Keith (Dodie) Garity of Cleveland, Ga.; one daughter, Barbara (Warren) Parker of Venice, Fla.; three stepsons, Ronald (Nancy) Henry of Olivet, Gaylord (Shirley) Henry of Grayling and Gordon (Linda) Henry of Olivet; one stepdaughter, Elizabeth (Robert) Yago of Fowlerville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Pierce Garity of Missouri, Tom Garity of Nashville and Huey Garity of Bellevue; and nine sisters, Lena Hughes of Battle Creek, Caroline Sellen of Olivet, Alice Squires of White Cloud, Lois Guthrie of Grand Rapids, Joyce Scott of Battle Creek, Marion Goris of Nashville, Ardith Beauchamp of Detroit, Jean Carnell of Battle Creek and Mary Lou Plaunt of Nashville.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Viva (Holcomb) in 1976; twin granddaughters, Dawn and Denise Garity in 1978; and one brother, John Garity in 1991.
Services were April 30 at the Ainger Bible Church, Olivet, with Pastor Scott Brood and Pastor Jack Skirvin officiating. Interment was in the Olivet Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte.

Ralph Ellis Garnant
Ralph Ellis Garnant, 90, of Charlotte died July 7, 1997 at the Maple Knoll Manor in Charlotte.
Mr. Garnant was born September 27, 1906 in North Dakota, the son of Charles and Ida (Mattely) Garnant. He was a farmer in both the Eaton Rapids and Charlotte areas, prior to retiring in Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Singler) of Charlotte; daughter, Carole (Norvin) Holm of Indian River; and son, Rodger (Sharon) Garnant of Charlotte; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Emma (Droscha); sisters, Blanche and Ruth; brother, Glen; and a grandson.
Services were held July 9 at the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids, with the Pastor Geri Litchfield officiating.
