Nellie M. Ramsey
Nellie Marie Ramsey, 79, of Potterville died March 21, 1997.
Mrs. Ramsey was born Nov. 13, 1917, in Wabash, Ind., the daughter of John and Mabel (Brown) Weck. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlotte and its Mary Murray Circle.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda (John) Jane of Potterville, Charlotte (Raymond) Carmony of Nashville, and Phyllis (Larry) Belcher of Vermontville; two sons, Everett Eldridge of Sacramento, Calif., and Ernest (JoAnn) Ramsey of Charlotte; one step-daughter, Iva Lee (Bill) Robison of Holt; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Gladys Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor, Mary Reed, Dorothy Dickinson, and Adella Scott; and five brothers, John Weck, Robert Weck, Charles Weck, Richard Weck, and Albert Weck.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Eldridge in 1948; her second husband, Eddie Ramsey in 1977; and two grandsons, Jason and John.
Services were march 25 at the First Baptist Church, Charlotte, with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Interment was in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte. Arrangements were made by the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.

Wells Henry Rauser
Wells H. Rauser, 83, of Charlotte died June 27, 1997, in Highlands Park, Ill.
Mr. Rauser was born in Charlotte, the son of Henry and Leara (Wells) Rauser. He was a member and senior warden of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Charlotte. He had also been a member of the Charlotte Rotary Club for over 30 years. He was a co-owner and publisher of the Charlotte Republican Tribune, retiring in 1973. He had been a correspondent for the Lansing State Journal, Battle Creek Inquirer, Jackson Citizen Patriot, Grand Rapids Press, Detroit Free Press, Detroit News, Kalamazoo Gazette, Associated Press, and United Press International for 35 years. He was a 50-year member of the Charlotte County Club, served on the Charlotte City Council in the early 1950s, and was a member of the Charlotte Library and the Charlotte Cemetery boards for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce (Moore) Rauser; one daughter, Wendy (Mike) of Wash.; one son, Chris (Christine) Rauser of Illinois; four grandchildren; and one brother, Robert.
Services were July 2 at the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte. Interment was in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte. Arrangements were made by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Donald M. Raymond
Donald M. Raymond, 86, of Union City died Oct. 28, 1997, at the Battle Creek Health System after a short illness.
Mr. Raymond was born May 24, 1911, in Eaton County, the son of Earl and Maud May (Hatch) Raymond. He married Dorothy Bauer on April 14, 1934. He graduated from Charlotte High School in 1931. He and his wife operated Circle Café in Charlotte until 1941. Mr. Raymond had many jobs between the 40’s and 70’s. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima parish in Union City.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Raymond of Union City; two sons, Russel Charles Raymond of Union City and Darrel Raymond of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, John Raymond.
He is preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Services were Oct. 31 at the Our Lady of Fatima, Union City, with the Rev. Fr. Robert Creagan officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made out to the Our Lady of Fatima Music Fund.
Mary E. Rearick
Mary E. Rearick, 90, of Charlotte died Sept. 28, 1997 at the Eaton County Medical Care Facility, Charlotte, after a long illness.
Mrs. Rearick was born Jan. 4, 1907, in Millstone, W. Va., the daughter of James A. and Margaret (Moore) Shafer. She has been a Charlotte resident for four years.
Services were Oct. 2 at the Hopkins-Lawver Funeral in Akron, Ohio. Burial was in Hillsdale Memorial Park in Akron. A memorial service will be Oct. 8 at the Eaton County Medical Care Facility, Charlotte, with the Rev. George Fleming. Arrangements were made by Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Elizabeth L. Rebhan
Elizabeth L. Rebhan, 91, of Eaton Rapids died June 11, 1997, in Eaton Rapids.
Mrs. Rebhan was born on Jan. 13, 1906, in Leslie, the daughter of Fredrick G. and Henrietta (Fuhrmann) Rebhan.
She is survived by her niece, Norma; 3 nephews, Gary, Ronald (Joan), and William (Marge); 3 grand nephews, Martin (Diane), Gary (Michelle), and David; 2 grand nieces, Sandy (Tim) and Debbie; several great grand nephews; great grand nieces; and life long friend, Louisa Hoffman.
Services were held on June 14. Arrangements were done by the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids.
Michael J. Reid
Michael James Reid, 28, of Eaton Rapids died May 27, 1997.
Mr. Reid was born Feb. 7, 1969, in Lansing, the son of Michael and Kathi (Forman) Reid. He was a recycling and refuse handler for Baldwin Brothers Material Handling. He married Rebecca VanVleet in 1993. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; one son, Thomas; his mother, Kathi (Dennis) Swan; his father, Michael (Willodean) Reid of Tennessee; one sister, Angela Reid of Eaton Rapids; nieces and nephew, Shawna and Donald; half brother, Mathew Reid of Tennessee; mother and father-in-law, Shirley and Gerald VanVleet of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Jeremy VanVleet of Coldwater, niece and nephew, Samantha and Jake Smith; grandfather, Lawton Swan of Eaton Rapids; and great-grandfather, Bennie Townsend of Tennessee.
Services were May 30 at the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with the Rev. Geri Litchfield officiating. Interment was in the Perry Cemetery, Eaton County.
Evelyn Amanda Reist
Evelyn Amanda Reist, 71, of Charlotte died July 14, 1997.
Evelyn was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Lansing, the daughter of Samuel and Lillian Pearl (Forbes) Reist. She worked in Title Revue for the Secretary of State and was a member of the First Congregational Church in Charlotte.
She is survived by her nephew, Howard (Christine) Reist of Charlotte; niece, Charlene Mooney of Kansas; uncle, Leslie (Pat) Forbes of Holt; aunt, Mildred Pekrul of Ironwood; cousins, Marlene (Ron) Furman of North Carolina; four great nephews; and five second cousins.
Funeral services were on July 16 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Rev. Peter R. K. Brenner officiating. Interment will be in Deepdale Cemetery, Lansing. Arrangements were made by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church Bell Choir.
Naomi I. Reynolds
Naomi I. Reynolds, 77, of Charlotte died Dec. 11, 1997.
Mrs. Reynolds was born February 7, 1920, in Charlotte, the daughter of Leo and Martha (Baker) Goodrich. She married Wells A Reynolds Jan. 4, 1940. She was an Eaton County 4-H Leader for the Millerburg sewing group.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Milo) Wright of Charlotte; daughter-in-law, Helen Cleeves of Charlotte; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; two sister-in-laws, Geneva Leonard of Eagle and Arvilla Hacker of Trufant.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wells; son, Gerald’ daughter, Pamela; and granddaughter, Sally.
Services were Dec. 15 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with the Joseph Haney officiating. Interment was in Gresham Cemetery, Eaton County.
