Carroll E. Boffing
Carroll E. Boffing, 49, of Charlotte died May 28, 1997.
Mr. Boffing was born Oct. 5, 1947, in Glendale, Calif., the son of Carroll and Idella Blanche (Owens) Boffing. He was a former resident of Indianapolis, Ind., and Grant. He was an operations director for Goodwill Industries, Heartland of Michigan of Battle Creek. He married Elaine Brummel on Jan. 1, 1970, in Grant. He was a member of the Charlotte Christian Reformed Church, former plant manager of Jansko, Inc., and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years with 27 months service in Vietnam. He graduated from Parachute Jump Training and Survival School.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; one son, C. Eric (Mary) Boffing III of Lansing; one daughter, Rebecca Boffing of Charlotte; one grandson, Calvin Boffing; two brothers, Scott and Larry both of Indianapolis, Ind.; and two sisters, Darlene (Harold) Ambrose of McCordsville, Ind. and Nicki Smith of Indianapolis, Ind.
Services were May 31 at the Charlotte Christian Reformed Church. Interment was in the Chubbuck Cemetery, Kent County. Arrangements were made by the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.

Franklin D. Boggs
Franklin D. “Burr” Boggs, 62, of Eaton Rapids died Jan. 5, 1997, in Eaton Rapids.
Mr. Boggs was born March 24, 1934, in Floyd Co., Ken., the son of Walter and Mary (Hull) Boggs. He retired from Michigan Packaging Corporation in 1991 after 21 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Fay; three daughters, Anita (Nelson) Wheaton of Gaylord, Diane (Dale) Newsome of Marion, Ohio, and Merry (Mike) Reading of Hollywood, Fla.; two sons, Dale (Dorenda) of Kentwood, and Pat (Lori) of Ionia; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, J.C. Boggs, and Sonny (Marcia) Boggs all of Kentucky, and Danny Boggs of Tennessee; and one sister, Helen (Fred) Brown of New York.
Services were Jan. 8 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids. Interment was in the Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids.
Neola H. Bosworth
Neola H. (Carr) Bosworth, 81, of Eaton Rapids died April 11, 1997, at the Eaton Rapids Community Hospital.
Mrs. Bosworth was born in Springport and was a lifetime area resident, graduating from Eaton Rapids High School Class of 1933. She worked as a bookkeeper for several auto dealerships in Charlotte and surrounding areas. She was a member of the Eaton Rapids Congregational Church, the Mizpah Guild and the Eaton Rapids Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Robert) Griggs of Eaton Rapids and Mary Lou (Steve) Fitzpatrick of Charlotte; two brothers, Howard (Mary) of Burgess of Lansing and Russell (Meredith) Burgess of Lindale, Texas; one sister, Maxine (Orland) Stanley of Eaton Rapids; grandchildren, Jason Griggs of Charlotte, Lee Ann Griggs of Eaton Rapids, Jennye Vahs of Bellevue and Jeffrey Fitzpatrick of Charlotte; one stepson, Dr. Quinton Bosworth of Charlotte; step-grandchildren, Quin (Diana) Bosworth, Kris (Earl) Boehmer, Beth (Curtis) Hedrick and Kelly Bosworth; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leo Carr, in 1953, and her second husband, Myron Bosworth in 1978; her parents, Glenn and Eula Burgess; and one step-granddaughter, Missy Bosworth.
Services were April 14 at the Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids, with Pastor Tom Evans officiating. Interment was in the Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids.

Ruth L. Braden
Ruth L. Braden, 76, of Charlotte died Aug. 9, 1997, at Hayes Green Beach Hospital.
Mrs. Braden was born in Lansing, the daughter of Paul and Frances (Scott) Hosmer. She worked at Dewey’s Coffee Corner & Greenlight Restaurants as a waitress. Also, she was a past president of VFW Auxiliary in Nashville.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Arlene Ramirez and Barbara Case both of Charlotte, and Judy Case of Texas; 2 sons, Jim Case of Ohio, and Carroll Case of Charlotte; 2 brothers, Robert Hosmer of Battle Creek, and Ronald Hosmer of Florida; sister, Betty Meade of Nashville; sister-in-law, Bernetta Davies of Charlotte; 28 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Braden.
Services were Aug. 13 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Pray Funeral Home.
Alden J. Bradford
Alden James Bradford, 70, of Eaton Rapids died Dec. 27, 1996, in Lansing following a terminal illness.
Mr. Bradford was born Dec. 29, 1925 in Hamlin Township, the son of Walter and Clara (Kellogg) Bradford. He served in the Navy during World War II, had worked for Allied Products in Eaton Rapids, and had retired from Dowding’s Tool and Die in Narrow Lake. He was a member of the F&AM Lodge #63 in Eaton Rapids, a member of the American Legion Post #15 and the VFW Post #1283, both of Eaton Rapids.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy; son, James (Linda) Bradford of Brighton; three daughters, Krista Wainright, Karen (Rick) Cataline, and Annette Boedeker, all of Eaton Rapids; five grandchildren; one sister, Winona (Bob) Davis of Battle Creek; four brothers, Kyle (Margaret) Bradford, Jean (Cernyw) Kline, Bill (Marlene) Bradford, all of Eaton Rapids, and John (Victoria) Bradford of Dimondale; sister-in-law, Esther Bradford of Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were Dec. 30 at Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with the F&AM Lodge Chaplin Victor Alt officiating.

Jerry Bradford
Jerry Bradford, 63, of Brady, Texas, formerly of Charlotte, died Dec. 21, 1997, at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Bradford was born Dec. 18, 1934. He married Maxine Pratt April 2, 1957. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine; one son, John Bradford of Texas; daughter, Nancy Bradford of Texas; one granddaughter; one grandson; one brother, Jim Bradford of Detroit; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Services were Dec. 27 at the VFW Hall in Brady, Texas.

Paul F. Bradley
Paul F. Bradley, 82, of Charlotte died April 8, 1997.
Mr. Bradley was born Feb. 9, 1915, in Chester Township, the son of Frank and Carrie (Whelan) Bradley. He was a farmer and owned his own farm. He was a former Benton Township Supervisor and past president and member of the Eaton County Farm Bureau.
He is survived by one brother, Russell (Dorothy) of Charlotte; three sisters, Ruth Wright of Lansing, Doris Kent of Leslie and Esther Friel of Lansing; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arthur and Elmer; and one sister, Frances Canfield.
Services were April 11 at the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with the Rev. George Fleming officiating. Interment was in the Gresham Cemetery, Chester Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton County Cancer Society or the Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church.
Vivian M. Bradley
Vivian Maxine Bradley, 76, of Charlotte died Feb. 13, 1997.
Mrs. Bradley was born Nov. 23, 1920, in Charlotte, the daughter of Wellman and Mabel (Rogers) Wilson. She was a former member of the Northwest Walton Grange, Bellevue Whirlaways, Bud’s Duds Square Dance groups, Eaton County 4-H Extension, and 4-H sewing leader.
She is survived by her husband, Werlin; two daughters, Janet (Alan) Ruhl of Fowler, and Linda (Terry) Rawson of Charlotte; one son, Darryl (Barbara) Bradley of Marshall; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marjorie Force of Ann Arbor.
Services were Feb. 15 at the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with the Rev. Edna Fleming officiating. Interment was in the West Carmel Cemetery, Eaton County.
