Verland C. Love
Verland Clarence Love, 64, of Charlotte, died Dec. 22, 1996.
Mr. Love was born Sept. 112, 1932, the son of Clarence and Luella (Bauer) Love. He was a heavy press operator in auto management for Buick-Olds-Cadillac Plant #3, Lansing, until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charlotte, where he was head usher for 20 years and served on the board of trustees.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene; one daughter, Laura (the Rev. Christopher) Thomas of Mansfield, Ohio; two sons, Kent and Kirke (Deborah), both of Charlotte; one brother, Douglas (Mary Lou) of Glendale, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Courtney and Andrea Love, Stephen, Nathaneal, and Micah Thomas; his mother-in-law, Donna Deuel of Charlotte; and uncle Dorr (Martha) Love of Tucson, Ariz.; aunt Marie Carter of Charlotte.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Ardith, and one brother, Mark.
Services were Dec. 26 at the First Baptist Church.

Margarette E. Lovell
Margarette E. Lovell, 83, of Sunfield died March 12, 1997, at Moore’s Adult Foster Care, Charlotte.
Mrs. Lovell was born April 22, 1913, in Sebewa Township, the daughter of Edward and Emma (Scheel) Yager. She married Gordon Lovell June 17, 1933, and was the office manager and bookkeeper for Lovell Implement Co. in Charlotte for over 25 years. She was a member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union and Vermontville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon; one daughter, Donna Jeanne (Donald) Tirrell of Charlotte; one son, Kendall (Joanne) Lovell of Portland; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Bernice Trask of Lake Odessa; and one brother, Theo Yager of Lake Odessa.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Beatrice Daniels of California.
Services were March 14 at the Rosier Funeral Home, Mapes-Fisher Chapel, Sunfield, with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Vermontville.

Coral “Slim” Lundstrum
Coral “Slim” Lundstrum, 72, of Lewiston, died Aug. 6, 1997, in Gaylord after a long illness.
Mr. Lundstrum was born May 27, 1925, in Eaton County, the son of Victor and Winnie (Robinson) Lundstrum. He attended school in Vermontville and moved to Coldwater in 1954 from Charlotte, living there until moving to Lewiston in 1990 due to ill health.
He retired in 1985 from the REW Powdered Metal Co. of Coldwater after 17 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; two sons, Mark of Bronson and Lynn (Sharon Atwood) of Ann Arbor; two daughters, Diana Kelly of Coldwater and Ann (Will) Rowland of Lewiston; and three grandsons, Justin Lundstrum of Bronson and Jeb and Jake Bailey of Gaylord.
Cremation has taken place.
Graveside services were Aug. 11 at the Mason Cemetery, Coldwater, with the Rev. John Benham officiating.

Lawrence H. McClintock
Lawrence H. McClintock, 86, of Charlotte died Jan. 9, 1997.
Mr. McClintock was born Sept. 18, 1910, in Eaton County, the son of Howard and Myrtle (Tirrell) McClintock. He owned and worked his own farm in the Charlotte area.
He is survived by one sister, Ella (Roy) Nevins of Charlotte; three nephews, Dale, Raymond, and Pat McClintock; and five nieces, Theresa Crouse, Mary Arnold, Elizabeth McClintock, Myrna Maynard, and Michelle Nevins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Elsie McClintock; and two brothers, Marion and Ivan McClintock.
Services were Jan. 13 at the First Baptist church, Charlotte, with Pastor Charles Moore officiating. Interment was in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte. Arrangements were made by the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.

Christopher J. McClurkin
Christopher Jerome McClurkin, six-week-old infant son of Shannon Bennett of Hastings and Eric McClurkin of Charlotte died Jan. 14, 1997.
Christopher was born Dec. 2, 1996, at Pennock Hospital, Hastings.
He is survived by his mother and father; grandparents, Robin and Jeff Bennett of Hastings, Ira McClurkin of Charlotte, Margaret McClurkin of Eaton Rapids; great-grandparents, Nancy and Clarence Pomeroy of Hastings, Debbie and Maurice Eaton of Nashville, and Genevieve and Roger Bennett of Dowling; great-great-grandparents, Eula and Charles Cooley of Clearwater, Fla., and Alice Eaton of Nashville; aunts and uncles, Brook and Michael Bennett of Hastings, and Cheryl and Chris McClurkin of Hawaii; and many great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins.
Services were Jan. 17 at the Wren Funeral Home, Hastings, with Pastor Lester DeGroot officiating. Interment was in the Hastings Riverside Cemetery Babyland.

Charles D. McCuaig
Charles D. McCuaig, 88, of Marshall died Oct. 31, 1997, at Jacob’s Foster Care Home, Marshall.
Mr. McCuaig was born March 2, 1909, in Detroit, the son of Charles and Pearl (Alexander) McCuaig. He received his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and worked for Upjohn in Kalamazoo for 12 years, then came to Marshall to work at Eaton Manufacturing Company. He then became self-employed, working as a cement contractor. He later worked at Ronan and Kunzl, from which he retired in 1975. He was a member of the Lyon Lake United Methodist Church, Calhoun County Fire Fighters Association, St. Albans Lodge #20 F&AM, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #385, and Tau Kappa Delta Fraternity. He married Myrtle Day May 23, 1942.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; one grandson; one great-grandson; and one niece.
Services were Nov. 2 at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home, Marshall, with the Rev. Linda Burston officiating.

Alvin “Al” E. McCulloch
Alvin “Al” Edward McCulloch, 52, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Charlotte, died Nov. 22, 1997, as the result of an accident in Barber, Fla.
Mr. McCulloch was born July 31, 1945, in Mt. Clemens, the son of Lois Grihorash and the late Edward McCulloch. He was a 1963 graduate of Charlotte High School. Before moving to Ocala, he was the former owner of Charlotte Tire, McCulloch Lawn and Garden, and had been a salesman for Al Hirt Ford and Martin Jeep.
He is survived by his wife, Cheri, of Ocala; one daughter, Cheri Kiplinger of Charlotte; four sons, Sean of Ocala, Steven of Kingsland, Ga., Todd of Charlotte, and Sean Greene of Lansing; six grandchildren; his mother, Lois Grihorash of Ocala; two sisters, Carol Kraai of Vermontville; one sister, Julia McPherson of Ocala; two brothers, John of Lansing and Dick Grihorash of Ocala; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service was held Nov. 26 at the Fellowship Baptist Church, Fellowship, Fla.
Donald Richard McFarland
Donald Richard McFarland, 68, of Temple passed away Aug. 10, 1997, at Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center, Claire.
Mr. McFarland was born March 22, 1929, in Lansing, the son of Frank and Hazel (Peterson) McFarland. He resided in Temple since 1986, moving from Eaton Rapids where he retired from Fisher Body, Lansing, after 35 years of employment. Mr. McFarland was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 404, Harrison and a member of Clare County 40 et 8 Voiture 767.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Temple; son, Donald (Norma) McFarland Jr. of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughter, Patricia DeBoer of Lansing; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Samuel (Ruth) McFarland of Eaton Rapids, and Jack McFarland of Florida; sister, Lorraine Powers of Lansing; and other friends and relatives.
Services were Aug. 12 at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Elder Dale Beavers officiating. Interment was in Fernwood Cemetery, Temple.
Military honors were performed by officers and members of the American Legion Post 404, Harrison.
