Orval Howard Lee
66, of Charlotte, Michigan the son of Howard A. and Lavina (Champlain) Lee. Mr. Lee had been employed by Diamond Reo for 15 years and was a well known regular at McDonalds in Charlotte. He served with the U.S. Air Force, volunteered for Charlotte athletic programs for 18 years and attended New Hope Community Church in Charlotte. He is survived by Florence Lee of Charlotte, daughter Jodi McLean and her fiancée Rex VanGuilder of Olivet, Michigan, sister Pat (Leo) Youngs of Fowler, Michigan. Visitation will be Thursday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Pearl I. Brandt
81, of Charlotte, Michigan, the daughter of Claude and Lucy Huffman Redfield. Mrs. Brandt was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She loved her entire family and enjoyed cooking, baking, her flowers and birds and Chico her dog. She is survived by three sons, John (Sue) of Potterville, Floyd (Connie) of Charlotte, and Frank, Jr. (Corrine) of Potterville; by four daughters, Teresa Hammond of Charlotte, Anna Marie (Dan) Martens of Charlotte, Judy Hansen of Marshall, and Mary and Marvin Davis of Mulliken; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, two brothers, William of Marshall and Delbert of Bellevue. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in October, 1998, her son Victor and son-in-law Marvin. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2001, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Charlotte, Michigan died Tuesday, December 11, 2001. Mrs. Windon was born December 21, 1941 in Bellevue, the daughter of Henry M. and Celia M. (Bundy) Kilgore. She was a retired Docket Clerk at the Social Security Administration, Office of Hearings and Appeals in Lansing. She is survived by husband Stuart E. Windon, daughters Penny Burt of Charlotte, Sharl (Steve) Aston of Bellevue, grandchildren, David (Cynthia) Pritchard, Alisha Pritchard & Tommy Potter, Faith Pritchard & Joe Barrette, Megan Aston, Corrina (Caleb) Westfall, great grandchildren, Tyler & Brady Pritchard, Aaron Potter, Aysa Marie Milbourn, Caleb Richard Westfall, sisters Faye (Lyle) Siegrist of Middleville, Helen (James) Rogers of Battle Creek, brothers Thomas (Tillie) Kilgore of Vermontville, and James (Kathleen) Kilgore of Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons Jason Henry and Steven Eugene, 3 brothers Clarence, Richard and Eston Kilgore and sister Betty Starkweather. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Pray Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Francis officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
Clyde Ward Cooper
90, of Charlotte, Michigan, the son of John R. and Clara M. (Ward) Cooper. He worked for Charlotte Auto Parts, was a cabinet maker for Charlotte Chair Company until his retirement in 1973 and was a long time member of the First Congregational Church. He especially enjoyed his horses and ponies and was involved with the Eaton County 4-H Fair for over 50 years. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Gracelynna "Sally" (Ryan) Cooper, son Robert of Charlotte, daughters Barbara (David) Lahr of Charlotte, Joyce (Bill) Gavaldon of Potterville, 7 grandchildren, Jon, Joe, and Jim Pell, Derric and Darrin Harmon, Deena (Dan) Mahoney, Ryan Cooper, 8 great grandchildren, sisters Rosa Potter of Charlotte and Helen Campbell of Vermontville, Kentucky, the son of Robert and Marjorie (Rose) Hill. He was an electrician. He is survived by son Wesley Hill of Ft. Lauderdale, Vermontville, Michigan formerly of Detroit, died Tuesday, December 18, 2001. Mrs. Kenefick was born July 8, 1909, in Chelsea, Massachusets the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Mienhardt) Mundt. She retired as a clerk from F.W. Woolworth Company. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Frank Kenefick, son Frank Kenefick of Peoria, Michigan with Rev. Noel R. Hall-Niemann officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte. Visitation will be Thursday 4 - 9 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice or Barry-Eaton District Health Department Hospice.
Lindene Ellen Randall
of Lansing, formerly of Charlotte, Michigan, the daughter of Ion and Margery (Cole) Randall. She graduated from Charlotte High School, Ferris State School of Pharmacy and Cooley Law School and was the Office Manager for the Clean Water Action Group of Lansing for 10 years. She is survived by her mother Margery Randall, brother Rodney (Karen) Randall of Charlotte and nephews Jason and Adam Randall. She was preceded in death by her father Ion Randall. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22 at Pray Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey Bowman officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Clean Water Action Group of Lansing.
Betty Jean Wright
77, of Charlotte, Michigan; Linda (Pat) Dickinson of Vermontville, Michigan; sons Jerry Sr. (Myrna) Smith of Bellevue; Ronald Wright Jr. of Lansing; and Fred Wright and his fiancée Donna of Charlotte; 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and sister Racheal Beard of Nashville. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Wright Sr. in December 1989, daughter Sharon Wright, daughter-in-law Linda Wright, granddaughters Carrie Dickinson and Tonya Wright. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte with Charles Jenson officiating. Interment will be in Gresham Cemetery in Charlotte. Harry Duane Morrison
age 73 of Charlotte, Michigan, the son of John and Jennie (Nettleton) Morrison. He retired from Fisher Body in 1986, enjoyed fishing, hunting and his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, IdaBelle (Weldon) Morrison, sons Larry (Terry Sue) Morrison, Brian (Kami) Morrison of Charlotte, Keith (Angie) Morrison of Eaton Rapids, daughter Karen (Chris) Miles of Holt, 6 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Egbert (Ellen) Morrison, Dorothy (Mike) Young, Francis Morrison, Claudia Smith, Janice (Don) Barnett, Sandra (Harry) Smith, Roger (Pat) Morrison, and Sue (Gordon) Bottomley. He was preceded in death by son Douglas Morrison, parents John Morrison and mother Jennie Moist, sister Jeanette Gruhl, and brother Ernest Morrison. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 4 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte with Rev. Darwin Kuhl officiating. Interment will be at Deepdale Memorial Park in Lansing. Hazel Christine (Eriksen) Nelson
born January 3, 1908 in Greenville, Michigan, where Marvin was County Abstractor until 1947 when they moved to Charlotte, Michigan. Mrs. Nelson died Tuesday, January 01, 2002 at the age of 93.
Mr. and Mrs. Nelson were charter members of the Peace Lutheran Church in Charlotte and she enjoyed the Isabelle Circle. She was well known for her beautiful handiwork. She was a Life member of the Eastern Star and belonged to the Pythian Sisters organization and Charlotte Women's Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, and brother Lester in 1964. She is survived by daughter Jeanette (Fred) Kogge of Hastings, Michigan; grandchildren Steven (Sumire) Kogge, Scott (Rose) Kogge, Sandra (Gary) Ragan, Stuart (Kathie) Kogge, Judy (Matthew) Wineinger, Robin Nelson, Michael (Kathleen) Nelson; step grandchildren Sarah and Sam Kellogg, Andrea and Derek King and 8 great grandchildren, sister Erma Sheaha of Santa Barbara, Michigan, died January 2, 2002. Mr. McGee was born July 13, 1926, in Northville, Maine; Joseph Randall McGee of Petosky, Michigan; grandchildren Charlie McGee, Jason McGee, and Rachelle Weaver; brother Robert (Deloris) McGee and sister Mary Ann (Arnold) Seigel and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2002 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Charlotte, Michigan.
