Judy M. Strickland
Judy Miller Strickland of Tallahassee, Fla., died May 14, 1997, in Tallahassee.
Mrs. Strickland was a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Sylvan; one daughter, Jill Gilliard of Tallahassee, Fla.; one son, Tim (Pam) Strickland of Charlotte; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Velma Miller and Marie Brady, both of Thomasville, Ga.
Services were May 16 at the Faith Presbyterian Church, Tallahassee. Interment was in the Roselawn Cemetery, Tallahassee.

Tommy P. Stubblefield
Tommy P. Stubblefield, 46, of Charlotte died March 20, 1997.
Mr. Stubblefield was born Oct. 28, 1958, in Martin, Tenn., the son of Jarrett and Mae (Pierce) Stubblefield. He was a forklift driver for Oldsmobile in Lansing.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, Angela (Marc) Gonzael and Melissa Stubblefield, both of Charlotte; two granddaughters, Morgan and Marissa; one sister, Sharon (Bill) Christiansen of Potterville; one niece, Cheri; and one nephew, Billy; and his parents of Higgins Lake.
Visitation is Sunday, March 23, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Services are Monday, March 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Peters officiating.
Dennis F. Stump
Dennis F. Stump, 51, of Potterville died Aug. 16, 1997.
Mr. Stump was born Oct. 18, 1945, in Lansing, the son of Willard and Margaret Stump. He worked in the construction business.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; his mother and stepfather, Margaret and Duane Mulholland, of Potterville; one daughter, Carrie, of Texas; one brother, Gary of Norco, Calif.; and two sisters, Lori Rock and Amy Mulholland, both of Potterville.
Graveside services were Aug. 17 at the Benton Township Cemetery, Potterville, with the Rev. Paul Bailey officiating. Arrangements were made by the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Doc E. Summers
Doc E. Summers, 79, of Vermontville died Oct. 12, 1997 in Hastings.
Mr. Summers was born Aug. 17, 1918, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Arthur and Helen (Shay) Summers Sr. He was a farmer in the Sunfield and Portland area for many years. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy, a former 4-H leader, and a member of the Vermontville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Ann Summers; 8 children, Rachel Speck of Lansing, Sue (Howard) Holloway of Houghton Lake, tom J. Summers of Mason, Stephen (Sharon) Summers of Vermontville, Frances Dillard of Charlotte, Catherine (Robert) Brown of Bellevue, Richard (Kathryn) Summers of Charlotte, and Marjory Brunette of Wyoming; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Sandborg of Portland; and Aunt, Dorothy (Russell) Blackman of Portland.
Services were Oct. 16 at the Rosier Funeral Home, Mapes-Fisher Chapel, Sunfield, with the Rev. Jeff Bowman officiating. Interment was held in the Sunfield Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Vermontville United Methodist Church.
Mary F. Sumner
Mary F. “Aunt Mary” Sumner, 100, of Eaton Rapids died Aug. 23, 1997, in Holt.
Mrs. Sumner was born Feb. 9, 1897, in New York, the daughter of Jerome and Clara Eve (Hutchinson) Sumner. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Charlotte. She retired as a Registered Nurse and Physical Therapist after being employed in California, Maryland, Oregon, Washington, and Michigan.
She is survived by her brother, C.J. “Jerry” (Millie) Sumner of Eaton Rapids; three nieces, Georgene (Howard) Krenrich, and Miladean (Ben) Leifermann all of Florida, and Lorene (Larry) Henderson of Eaton Rapids; and grandnephew, Dr. Scott Krenrich of Texas.
She is preceded in death by her two sisters, Ollie Walling and Iva Furnival.
There will be no services. The family was served by the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids.
Brianna SueAnn Suntken
Brianna SueAnn Suntken, infant daughter of Courtney and Melissa (Kikendall) Suntken of Charlotte died April 1, 1997.
Brianna was born at Sparrow Hospital.
She is survived by her parents; one sister, Samantha; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kikendall of Charlotte, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Klont of Eaton Rapids and Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Suntken of Olivet; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Suntken, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Beck and Jeannette Kikendall all of Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Garrett, in 1994.
Graveside services were April 4, at the Bosworth Cemetery, with the Rev. Michael Knauff officiating. Arrangements were made by the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Harry M. Sutton
Harry M. Sutton, 97, died June 13, 1997 in Eaton Rapids.
Mr. Sutton was born Sept. 18, 1899, in Dexter, Mo., the son of Henry James and Clara (Grove) Sutton. He retired from Diamond Reo in 1968.
Mr. Sutton was preceded in death by his first wife, Annabelle, in 1971; son, James, in 1950; seven sisters; one granddaughter, Ruth Williams, in 1983, and two other grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Glory; four daughters, Dorotha (Max) Williams of Eaton Rapids, Reba (Dewey) Fuller of Mason, Alice Miller of Eaton Rapids, and Shirley Cude; one son, Marvin M. (Sylvia) Sutton Sr. of Eaton Rapids; one step-daughter, Patricia Christmas of Lansing; two step-sons, Glen (Jeri) Pettit of Williamston and Jon (Mae) Pettit of Traverse City; 14 grandchildren, Steve (Jacqueline) Fuller of Haslett, Tom (Bette) Fuller and Dewey (Sandra) Fuller of Lansing, Barbara Payne of Eaton Rapids, Jayne (Jan) Stucky of Georgia, the Rev. Max (the Rev. Louise) Williams Jr. of Ohio, Harry (Judy) Sutton, Marvin (Christine) Sutton, Beatrice (Les) McMann, Sybil Sutton and Mark (Cathy) Kirkey of Eaton Rapids, the Rev. Marcia Sutton of Oregon, Melissa (Keith) Goodman of Pennsylvania and Dale Miller of Eaton Rapids; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jewel South of Illinois.
Funeral services were June 17 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home with the Rev. Max Williams Jr. and the Rev. Marcia Sutton officiating. Interment followed at Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids.
Contributions may be made to Eaton Rapids Community Hospital in memory of Harry M. Sutton.
Nancy I. Taylor
Nancy Ida Taylor, 66, of Sunfield died Nov. 16, 1997, at Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids.
Mrs. Taylor was born Dec. 27, 1930, in Alma, the daughter of Guy and Maxine (Linhart) Taylor. She was a lifelong resident of Sunfield and had been a meat cutter for many years.
She is survived by three sisters, Joyce (Gene) Klotz of Lansing, Patricia (Irv) Kananen of Plymouth, and Kay (Ron) Bodenmuller of Woodland; one brother, Jack (Yvonne) of Tucson, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Gordon.
Services were Nov. 19 at the Rosier Funeral Home, Mapes-Fisher Chapel, Sunfield, with the Rev. Harris Hoekwater officiating. Interment was in the Sunfield Cemetery.
