Robert Kline
Robert Kline II, 76, of Charlotte died Feb. 5, 2000.
Mr. Kline was born Aug. 8, 1923 in Valpariso, Ind., the son of Robert and Anna (Beach) Kline. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and married Freda George Jan. 11, 1963 in Columbia, S.C. He had been a salesman for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Freda; two daughters, Karen Linn and Gail Ann Blowers; two sons, Robert III and Kevin; two step-daughters; seven grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Balakar; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were Feb. 9 at the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with R. Raymond Rossell officiating. Interment was in the Deepdale Memorial Park, Lansing.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Heart Association.
Ernest W. Klingensmith
Ernest Warner Klingensmith, 73, formerly of Eaton County, died Aug. 21, 2000 in Marshall.
Mr. Klingensmith was born May 29, 1927 in Waco, Texas, the son of Ernest Klingensmith Sr. and Pearl (Warner) Klingensmith. He served with the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force for 12 years.
Surviving are two daughters, one brother, two sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Aug. 30 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with R. Raymond Rossell officiating. Interment with full military honors was at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta.

Rodney A. Link
Rodney “Rocket” Allan Link, 52, of Mackinaw City, died Aug. 18, 2000.
Mr. Link was born Oct. 27, 1947 in Hastings, the son of William and Marian (Dingman) Link.
He is survived by his mother, Marian of Charlotte; one sister, Luanne Link of Charlotte; two nieces, Karey Burnett of Charlotte and Babette Burnett of Lansing; and two nephews, Jeremy Tamez and Bill Link, both of Charlotte.
Services were Aug. 23 at the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte. Interment was in the Kalamo Cemetery.
Georgia May Livingston
Georgia May Livingston, 93, of Eaton Rapids, died July 23, 2000.
Mrs. Livingston was born Aug. 17, 1906 in Washtenaw County, the daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth (Eckhart) Langdon.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruth (Raymond) Gibbs of Charlotte and Lola Reese of Eaton Rapids; one son, Richard (Betty) Livingston of Summerdale, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Inez (Clare) Brunton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1968; an infant son, and son-in-law, Dale Reese.
Graveside services were July 28 at Center Eaton Cemetery, Charlotte, with R. Raymond Rossell officiating. Arrangements were made by the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.

Richard L. Livingston
Richard LaVern Livingston, 71, of Summerdale, Ala., passed away Oct. 16, 2000 at Mercy Medical Center in Daphne, Ala.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean Stevens Livingston of Summerdale, Ala.; four daughters, Wanda Kay (Steve) Lahr of Duck Lake, Janet Lee Kruskamp of Clair, Dawn Annette (James) Collier of Summerdale, Ala., and April Gay Livingston of Robertsdale, Ala.; four sons, Robert Livingston of Hastings, Melvin (Beth) Gleason of Dansville; Olin Edmund Gleason of Summerdale, and Timothy Livingston of Foley, Ala.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Oct. 21 at Center Eaton Cemetery, Charlotte.

David C. Lloyd
David C. Lloyd, of Eaton Rapids, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000 at his residence following at long illness.
Mr. Lloyd was born Feb. 22, 1923 in Eaton Rapids, the son of Harold and Hazel (Schutt) Lloyd. He was a graduate of Eaton Rapids High School, served in the Army during World War II, and retired as a foreman in the shipping department for General Aluminum Products in Charlotte.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Rosemund; sons, Steven and grandson Timothy of Charlotte; two brothers, Douglas (Alice) Lloyd of Saline and Eugene (Elaine) Lloyd of Newago; two sisters, Francis (Keith) Manigold of Calif., and Beatrice (Stan) Widdas of Wash.; and, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Aug. 26 at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids, wit Rev. Robert Betts officiating. Interment was at Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids, with full military honors provided by American Legion Harold Teeter Post #15.

Phyllis A. Locke
Phyllis A. Locke, age 77, died Tuesday, February 8, 2000, in Lansing. She was born September 30 , 1922 in Charlotte, the daughter of Merrell David and Velma Adele (McArthur) Van Deusen. Phyllis was a member of the Central Michigan Philatelic Society, a founding member of the Barryton Area Historical Society and a member of the Barryton Area Senior Center. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1993 and her daughter, Barbara Underwood in 1999.
Surviving are her daughter, Penny (Al “Sonny”) Opdyke of Lansing; 3 grandchildren, Todd (Renee) Underwood of Marshall, Tammy (Jerry) Mejia and Tim Opdyke both of Lansing; 3 great-grandsons, Trevor, Tyler and Alex; sister, Maxine Coville of White Cloud; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends she met of her life’s journey.
Funeral services were held on Friday, February 11, 2000 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids, with Rev. Lyle D. Heaton, Pastor of the Wacousta Community United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment followed at Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids. Casket bearers were Todd Underwood, Tim Opdyke, Jerry Meyia and Sonny Opdyke. Beverly J. Long
Beverly J. Long, age 77 of Eaton Rapids, died Friday, March 24, 2000. She was born February 13, 1923 in Allegan, MI, the daughter of Ray and Coreen (Keli) Sadler. Mrs. Long and her husband had owned and operated Farmer’s Warehouse In Eaton Rapids. A very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed auctions and yard sales. She was preceded in death by her husband Max in 1987.
Surviving are her 2 sons, James (Leslie) Long and David (Sharon) Long all of Eaton Rapids; 6 grandchildren, Shelli Long of Eaton Rapids, Phillip Long of Lansing, David M. Long II of Lansing, Mary (Bryan) Crandell of Perry, Jason Shipman of Lansing and Justin Shipman of Lansing; 5 great-grandchildren, Margeaux, Marci, Morgan, Kaitlyn and Zachary.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 29th at 11 a.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. For those desiring a memorial contribution may be made to the Eaton Community Hospice in memory of Beverly J. Long.
Maude Lott
Maude (Shafe) Lott, 95, of Haslett, formerly of Lansing, died Feb. 13, 2000.
Mrs. Lott was born April 6, 1904 in Olivet, one of nine children of Edward and Mini (Wing) Shafe.
She is survived by one daughter, Berneitta Barker of Haslett; two grandsons; one sister, Lucille Babcock of Largo, Fla.; and four brothers, Fred Shafe of Olivet, Carl Shafe of Bellevue, Norris Shafe of Lansing, and Raymond Shafe of Goodrich Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; two sisters, Hazel Kibbler and Dora Vosburgh; and one brother, Garden.
Services were Feb. 15 at the Gorsline-Runciman Co., East Chapel, East Lansing, with the Rev. Darrell Neves officiating. Interment was in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing.
R. Alan Love Jr.
R. Alan Love, Jr., 36, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Bellevue, died May 6, 2000 in Fairfield County, Ohio.
Mr. Love was born Nov. 15, 1963, the son of Roger Alan Love, Sr. and Judy Le (Pettit) Love in Battle Creek. He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1982 and attended Kellogg Community College. He graduated from Western Michigan University in 19990 and moved to Ohio in 1992. He became a certified public accountant in 1998. He had worked for Felpausch in several locations, United Skates of America, Glass Works Plus and Designs, and had his own consulting firm. He enjoyed hunting, boating, gardening, his dogs and cats, and time spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his father, Roger A. (Shelia) Love, Sr. of Bellevue; his mother, Judy (Vito) Ragusa of Battle Creek, and Kayelyn Love of San Diego, Calif.; his grandparents, Pansy Gardner of Bellevue, Frank (Mae) Pettit of Coldwater, and Lucille Love of Bellevue; nephews and niece, Geoffrey and Gregory Willis, Lorin and Nathan Wallace, and Christopher Beard; several aunts, uncles and cousins; special friends, Mikeal and Toni Gutsue, and Kristin, Mike Jr. and John Gutsue; special friends in Ohio, Cathi and her daughters, Brittany and Sydney.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer Gardner and Wilbur Love.
Services were May 11 at Bellevue United Methodist Church with Pastor Jerry Pettit and Pastor Brad Gardner officiating. Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue. Arrangements were made by the Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.

Mary Lown
Mary Margaret Lown, 75, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000.
Mrs. Lown was born Aug. 15, 1924 in Charlotte, the daughter of Jay and Hazel (Ames) Imes. She had worked at Wilcox Gay and A.E. for several years and was also a race horse owner and member of the U.S. Trotting Association and the Michigan Harness Horseman’s Association.
Surviving are her husband, Floyd of Charlotte; sons, James of Eaton Rapids, Jeffrey of Lansing, Jerry of Hastings and Joey (Dawn) of Dorr; daughters, Joanne (Harvey) Metzgar of Eaton Rapids, Janet (David) Pitts of Germany and Joyce of Charlotte; grandchildren, Jennifer Metzgar, Bradley Pitts And Brittany Lown; sister, Cleo Walker; and, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held July 8 at Pray Funeral Home, with Rev. Art Salisbury officiating. Interment was at Millerburg Cemetery, Carmel Twp.
