Rodney Kring

Rodney Kring, 73, formerly of Charlotte, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010. He was the son of Henry C. Kring and Leone (Daniels) Kring, was born January 9, 1937 in Kimmell, IN.

He is survived by his children, Barbara (Robert) Lomax of Potterville, Sandra (Bill Hamm) Cole of Glendale, AZ, Deborah Lemley, Safford, AZ and James (Tracey) Kring of Olivet; 7 grandchildren; Christopher, Jessica, Justin, Heather, Rachel, Jordan and Logan; and 3 great grandchildren; Donavin, Kailey and Jayden, also; one brother, Harold (Judy) Kring of Homer. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Iva “Jean” Dull Kring.

He is being cremated in Glendale, AZ and there will be a small graveside service in Kimmell, IN on August 7, 2010. Arrangements by: Best Funeral Services in Peoria, AZ.

George (Mike) W. Lake

George (Mike) William Lake, of Sunfield, passed away Monday, March 22, 2010 at his residence at the age of 87. He was born Dec. 13, 1922 in Rives Twp., Jackson Co., and graduated from Leslie High school in 1940.

He played baseball in the Detroit Tigers’ farm system for two years before entering military service in Jan. 1943. He served three years in the United States Army, the last year on Luzon Island, in the Philippines. He married Eleanor Bishop in 1943. He retired from Olds Division, G.M. in 1978 after 30 years of service. Mike was an avid golfer, and he and his wife were members of Centennial Acres Golf Club for over 30 years. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Anna (Collie) Lake; three sisters, Betty Hanley, Mary Miller, Margaret Rhines, and brother, Robert all of Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, of 66 years, Eleanor “Pat” Lake; sons, Douglas (Susan) of Lake Odessa, Rodney (Marcia) of Sunfield, Mark (Susan) of Lake Odessa, and daughter, Cheryl (Von) Phillips of Kalamazoo; sister, Edna Taylor of Battle Creek; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held March 25 at Sunfield United Brethren Church. Memorials may be made to the Sunfield SPYS, or McLaren Hospice: c/o RFH, PO Box 36, Sunfield, MI 48890. . The family is being served by Rosier Funeral Home, Sunfield.

Stanley “Stan” Glen Lambert

Stanley “Stan” Glen Lambert of Bellevue, age 56, loving father, grandfather, son, companion, brother and friend to all passed away on November 5th, 2010. He was born to George and Beverly (Lige) Lambert on November 2nd, 1954, the biological son of Richard Marr and mother, Beverly. He was employed by Midwest Transit Company for 10 years and worked for Harris Oil for 14 years. He enjoyed auto racing, mechanic work, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his four children; Antonio J. (Vicki) Tamez, Stanley (Marcy) Lambert Jr., Robert (Angela) Lambert, and Carissa (Matthew) Dilyard; extended children, Justin McDonald, Cohen French, Patrick Eichholtz, Kristin Eichholtz and Donald Eichholtz; his companion, Sheila Pryde; eleven grandchildren; mother, Beverly Lambert; one brother, David (Patricia) Lambert; two sisters, Kathy (William) Oakley, and Brenda Richardson; several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by the only father he ever knew, George Robert Lambert, his biological father, Richard Dean Marr; and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with the Rev. Jim Riley, officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Skinner Funeral Home. George Lamie

George “Richard” Lamie, 78, of Nashville, died Monday, November 8, 2010. He was born July 28, 1932 in Chester Township, Mich., the son of George Lamie and Phyllis (Messimer) Lane. Richard owned and operated the Lamie Company for many years, as well as working a a car salesman, a bartender, and in a meat packing company. Immediately following high school, Richard joined the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of Moose Lodge 288 of Lansing, and had many friends across the USA.

He is survived by his daughters, Dana M. Lamie and Leana J. Lamie; son, Joseph G. Lamie; grandchildren, Travis M. Hamilton, Noah A. Konopka, Joseph George Lamie, Jr., Chayton Joe Bail and Shaelyn M. Bail; great grandchild, Trenton Easton Hamilton; sisters, Joan (Lamie) Lockwood, Charlene (Lamie) Young, Darlene (Lamie) Sixberry and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Diana Lamie; brother, Joseph Dale Lamie and sister, Linda (Lamie) Mathis.

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte with Pastor George Blanche and Pastor Deano Lamphere officiating. Interment was in Gresham Cemetery in Charlotte.

Frances Nora Langham (Gregg)

Frances Nora Langham (Gregg) of Lansing, formerly of Eaton Rapids, MI age 89, was called home to the Lord January 18, 2010. Born May 24, 1920 in Petoskey, MI. Frances was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Eaton Rapids and also attended St. Gerard Catholic Church in Lansing. She was an accomplished musician playing guitar, accordion, harmonica, and piano. She also loved dancing. She was preceded in death by husbands, Claude Lumbert, Sr., and Howard Langham; sister, Mary Dye; 2 brothers, Joseph Gregg, and Patrick James Gregg.

She is survived by 3 son, Tom (Elizabeth) Lumbert, Charles (Jan) Lumbert, and Claude “JR” (Kathie) Lumbert, Jr.; 4 stepchildren, Marilyn (Larry) Foster, Roger (Janet) Langham, Carl (Marti) Langham, and Verna Carpenter; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Liturgy is 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing with Fr. John P. Klein presiding. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at church. Rite of Committal Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to St. Peter’s or St. Gerard Church.

Betty A. Larson

Betty A. Larson, 78, died Saturday, May 8,2010. Mrs. Larson was born May 26, 1931 in Clear Lake, IA the daughter of William and Gladys (Brower) Richey.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Gerald) Booden of Potterville; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Deloris Caruth and brother, Dean Richey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Larson.

Lester M. Lautner

Lester M. Lautner, 81, of Charlotte, died Monday, December 20, 2010. He was born November 12, 1929 in Edwardsville, Ill., the son of Fredric and Caroline (Schulte) Lautner. Lester served in the US Army during the Korean War and worked in the mold repair shop as a journeyman for Owens Illinois retiring after 45 years. He was in charge of the St. Vincent DePaul food delivery, delivering food to the less fortunate. He was a volunteer for the Capital Area Community Services, a member of the Charlotte American Legion and a 4th degree member with the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Agnes; son, Teddy (Sue) Lautner of Lapeer; daughter, Therese (Dan) Lake of Charlotte; daughter, Carol (Debbie Petersen) Schilling of Troy; daughter, Cheryl Martin of Linden; son, Joseph Lautner of Charlotte; 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Allien Lacquement.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 23, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Charlotte, with Rev. Father Francis Mossholder officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul of St. Mary’s. Arrangements were made by Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte.

Ralph Jerry Laverty

Ralph Jerry Laverty, 81, of Harrison, Michigan, formerly of Charlotte, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010. “Jerry” retired from the U.S. Army and the 199th Field Artillery, Michigan National Guard, after 33 years of service to his country, with the rank of Sergeant Major. He belonged to the Harrison Post of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Jerry was a skilled auto mechanic who enjoyed building black powder guns and miniature steam engines and was also an antique gas engine enthusiast. He always loved dogs and Coco, his buddy for the last 16 years, has passed on with him.

He is survived by three sons, Chris (Sherry) of Lansing, Guy (Deb) of Eaton Rapids, and Jerry (Ann) of Winthrop, WA; five grandchildren, Erica, Aaron, Dustin, Cade and Corey; and two great grandchildren, Hannah and Aiden.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services. However, an Irish Wake is being planned for a future date so that family and friends can celebrate Jerry’s life. The family would like to thank the Stocking Funeral Home in Harrison, as well as the many friends and neighbors for their help and kindness.

Daniel R. LeClair

Daniel R. LeClair, 64, of Williamsburg, formerly of Charlotte died Sunday, September 12, 2010 after battling cancer for the last year and a half. Daniel is survived by his wife, Karen, three sons, three grandchildren, five sisters and two brothers. Private family Memorial Services are being held.
