Anne M. Wilmore
Anne Marie (Stiver) Wilmore, 70, of Charlotte, died October 7, 2010. Anne was born July 25, 1940 in Charlotte, the daughter of Charles R. Stiver, Jr. and Josephine (Black) Stiver. She attended Charlotte Public Schools. She will always be remembered as a nurturing person to all of her family and friends. She was married September 6, 1958 to Gary D. Wilmore of Charlotte where they resided for 52 years.
She is survived by her husband, Gary; five children; Cary Ann (Bill) Smith of Alma, Kimberly Jo (Chris) Wood of Holt, Darin Duane (Sue) Wilmore of Charlotte, Michael Wayne Wilmore of Charlotte and Devin Blake Wilmore of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Nakia (Mark) Carter of St. Louis, Blake Wilmore of Charlotte, Cassidy Wilmore of Charlotte; great grandchildren, Mason Carter of St. Louis, Elliott Carter of St. Louis; mother, Josephine (Sam) Willoughby of Charlotte; sister, Elaine (Stuart) Southworth of Charlotte; brother, Charles (Vicki) Stiver of Charlotte; extended family, Matt Wood of Lansing, Alex Strause of Alma, Julie (Carl) Gelderloss of Colorado and Patty (Dan) Macha of St. Louis, Rick and Jill Garn and family; her cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews to numerous to name; finally, our family’s very special friends, living and deceased, you know who you are.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles R. Stiver, Jr.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 11, 2010 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte with Vicki Stiver officiating.

Mary A. Wilson
Mary Alice Wilson, 69, of Eaton Rapids, passed away in Charlotte April 10, 2010. She was born in Deland, Ill., Sept. 8, 1940, the daughter of Leo Leland and Daisy Marie (Stiverson) Chaney. Mary worked at the GM Service Parts Plant for 25 years before retiring. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, loved to listen to music, especially Elvis, and most enjoyed taking her grandchildren up north. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary is survived by her sons, Jeff (Kathy) Wilson of Eaton Rapids, Kelly Wilson of Burton, Mich.; grandchildren, Kody and Kiel Wilson of Eaton Rapids; brothers, Rick (Patty) Chaney, Bud (Shirley) Chaney and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids with Pastor Bud Chaney officiating. Interment was at Rosehill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice, 2675 S. Cochran Road, Charlotte, MI 48813; American Cancer Society, 3100 West Road, East Lansing, MI 48823 or the charity of one’ choice.
George A. Winsley
George A., Winsley, 74, of Mesa, Ariz., died Thursday, February 18, 2010, at his residence. The prayers and well wishes of family and friends surrounded him as he went peacefully to his heavenly home after a short, impossible fight with Merkle cell cancer. George and his family received excellent care and support form Hospice of the Valley during his last days.
He was born February 11, 1936 to Donald and Helen Haines Winsley. He spent his first 18 years in Pierceton, Ind. and graduated from Pierceton High School in 1954. He received any honors playing basketball and running track. His Pierceton High School record for the 440-yard race still stands. The school closed in 1971. George joined the Marines in 1955 and was honorable discharged in 1959.
George retired from General Motors Warehouse & Distributing Division in Lansing, Mich. in June of 1992. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing golf (he even got a hole in one), traveling, woodworking, reading and perfecting his favorite recipes. However, his favorite activity was discovering the best restaurants across the country and mapping travel routes for self, friends and family to hit them all. He was more reliable than GPS.
On December 24, 1955 he married Geraldine Augst of Lake Odessa, Mich., at his mother’s home in Pierceton. Throughout their marriage, they’ve lived in Mesa, Ariz.; Queen Valley, Ariz.; Yuma, Ariz.; Pine Bluff, Ark.; Port Charlotte, Fla.; Evansville, Ind.; Charlotte, Mich.; Woodland, Mich.; Lansing, Mich.; Jacksonville, NC; San Diego, Calif.; and while George was stationed in Puerto Rico, Geraldine lived with her mother-in-law in Pierceton.
George is survived by his wife, one son, Donald (Liz) Winsley, Auburn, Ind.,; three daughters D’Anna (Richard) Matney, Mesa, Ariz., D’Lynn (Jeff) Smith, Charlotte, Mich., and Dana (Keith) Greenwood, Ganado, Ariz.; his Uncle Bud (Francis) Haines, Goshen, Ind., and Aunt Betty Haines, North Webster, Ind.; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters: Karen (Dale) Wine, Pierceton, Ind., Rita Werstler, Pensacola, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; dear friends; and Gizmo II, his pampered Bichon-Shitzu.
He was preceded in death by his father (1950), mother (2008), father-in-law, Gerald Augst (1977), mother-in-law, Rose Augst (2003), brother-in-law, Owen Augst (2002), and nephew, Troy Augst (2009).
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. June 5, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Pierceton, Ind. In lieu of flowers, please donate your time and/or money to your local hospice.
Richard Alan Wilson
Richard Alan Wilson of Eaton Rapids passed away December 30, 2010 at the age of 64. Richard was born in Lansing, March 8, 1946, the son of Harold and Nora (Norris) Wilson Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Eaton Rapids. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and playing pranks.
He is survived by his son, Richard (Kayla Rychel) Wilson Jr. of Bay City; brother, Harold “Butch” Wilson of Eaton Rapids; sisters, Audrey (Wayne) Towers of Eaton Rapids, Sharon (Rex) Heintzelman of Eaton Rapids, Barbara Wenzlick of Eaton Rapids; several nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patricia Pierson and Marylan Wilson.
Graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd, Rockville, MD 20852 or the American Diabetes Association, 30300 Telegraph Rd. Suite 177, Bingham Farms, MI 48025. Arrangements were entrusted to the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids.
Morris Wood
Morris “Jack” Wood, 75, of Mulliken, died Sunday, December 5, 2010. He was born May 21, 1935 in Farwell, Mich., the son of Charles and Laura (Chapman) Wood. He retired from Owens-Illinois as a machine repairman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Jackie Meyers of Potterville; son, Israel (Laura Lewis) Wood of Vermontville; grandchildren, Onika Meyers; sisters, Treva Drake of Charlotte, Betty Thompson of Lansing and ex-wife, Helen Wood of Grand Ledge. He was preceded in death by eight siblings. Memorial services may be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Robert L. Woodworth, Sr.
Robert L. Woodworth, Sr. (Woody), 65, of Lansing, died, Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Bob was born in Charlotte on August 22, 1944 to Floyd James and Phoebe Jane (Butler) Woodworth. Woody was formerly employed at Lansing Wholesale; C&T Body Shop and was retired from Mason Public Schools.
He is survived by his son, Robert Woodworth, II of Newburgh, Ind.; daughter, Kelly (Gary) Barnard of St. Johns; five grandchildren, Sydney, Noah, Joshua, Charity, Gary Junior and one great grandson; his mother, Phoebe Clouse; brother, James (Joanne) Woodworth of Eaton Rapids; Gerald (Jeri) Corder of Mesick, and sister, Carol (Steve) Brooks of Ceresco, Mich., nieces and nephews and daughter-in-law Shae.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sallie in 2008, his father, Floyd Woodworth in 1951 and step-father, Clarence Clouse in 2004.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Pray Funeral Home with Terry Brickley officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 6, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home.

Carol “Jean” (Eaton) Wright
Carol “Jean” (Eaton) Wright of Eaton Rapids, MI lost her battle with cancer on January 7, 2010. She was born at home in Hastings, Michigan on November 23, 1941. She was one of sixteen children to Earl and Alice Roe (Golden) Eaton. She retired after 31 years from General Motors. Jean was a very strong-willed, loving and humorous person. She adored her children and grandchildren. Her number one activity was cooking large dinners for her family. She was known as the ‘cookie lady’ and made the BEST potato salad. She also loved gambling, whether it was playing Bingo with friends and family, or going to the casino. She also loved to travel. In the summertime, Jean enjoyed taking her grandkids swimming and playing Frisbee with Lucy in the backyard. At family dinners she loved playing Phase 10, in which someone was bound to be laughing or getting mad! (At the Cheatin’ Eaton’s) She was also known for embarrassing her kids and grandkids, especially when she got together with her sisters! She will truly be missed, but surely not forgotten. She is in the heats of those she loved where she’ll remain forever. Jean is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Billy, Earl, Keith and Ike Eaton; sisters: Josephine Brown and Julia “Judy” Hook.
She is survived by her children: Eric (Susan) Eaton, Daryl (Deb Becerra) Eaton, Belinda (Kevin) Hill, grandchildren: Ashley (Evan Gruesbeck) Hill, Brittney Hill, Amanda Hill, Justin (Miranda) Eaton, Darian Eaton, Delanie Eaton, Cynthia (Bryan) Beck, great grandchildren: Evelyn Roe Gruesbeck, Kollin Beck, and another one on the way, including Madelyn and Courtlyn who she saw as her own grandkids, brothers: Harley (Lillian) Eaton, James “Jim”: (Carolyn) Eaton, Arnold (Judy) Eaton, and Steve Eaton, sisters: Eva (Tom) Bradley, Alice (Wayne) Allen, Dora (Herb) Beeman, Sally Peake, Patty Masunas, two sister-in-laws: Bernice Eaton and Debbie Eaton, and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
A funeral service was held on Monday, January 11 from Skinner Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice in loving memory of Jean, .
Janet A. Wright
Janet Ann (Ferris) Wright, of Charlotte, was born on December 20, 1934 in Lansing and passed away at the age of 75 on April 18, 2010. Married to Charles Wright on November 15, 1952, he passed away in 2008. They were married for 55 years and built their home where they raised their six children in Charlotte. Janet’s sole career, he most important of all, was as a homemaker and mother. She was a member, with her husband, of the Mid-Michigan Model A Club of Lansing and the Crank & Throttle Model A Club of Olivet.
She ws predeceased by her parents, Kathryn (Baird) Spears and Clair Ferris; her stepfather, Dennis Spears and stepmother, Marge Hackel.
Survivors include: her children, Debra (Gary) Gearhart, William Wright, Candance (James) Patterson, Sandra (Daniel) Vandlen, Renee (Jerry) Bellon and Robin (George) Blanche; grandchildren, Janelle (Scott) Duffey, Marcie (Ryan) Graham, Gary (Karmen) Gearhart II, Douglas Patterson, Daniel II and Emma Vandlen, Tara, Jimi and Jerry Bellon, Elizabeth and Andrew Blanche; brother, Clair Ferris, Jr.; step-sister, Ginger (Jim) Rennaker; sister-in-law, Alice Martens; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with John Bailey, Minister of Charlotte Church of Christ officiating. Interment was in the Gresham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eaton Community Hospice or the Charlotte Church of Christ.
Linda (Doxtader) Wright
Linda (Doxtader) Wright was born on August 12, 1940 in Eaton Rapids, MI. She passed away on February 22, 2010 in Ottumwa, Iowa at the Hospice House at the age of 69. She resided in Michigan for 34 years before moving to Arizona in 1974 where she lived for many years. Then as her health got worse, she moved to Iowa where her daughter resides. Linda enjoyed working at the Pickle Factory and Liquor Commission, until losing her leg in 1968. She was also a big fan of the Los Angels Raiders. She was a wife, mother, sister and friend to many. The job she enjoyed the most, was being our mother. She fought Lung disease and Diabetes, but she never lost her optimistic outlook on life or her love of fishing. Those who knew her will miss her beautiful smile and kind words, and will sadly miss her.
Linda is survived by 4 sisters and 3 children; Bonnie Denham, Brenda Brooks and Richard Doxtader. She also has 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held in Iowa.
