Ronald Braden
Ronald Braden, 67, went to be with the Lord, Sunday May 2, 2010.
Ron was born June 22, 1942 in Charlotte, MI the son of Frank and Kathryn (Stewart) Braden. He retired from Oldsmobile with 30 years of service. Ron enjoyed spending winters in Florida, antique automobiles and watching the Detroit Tigers.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; sons, Kert (Dawn) Braden of Nashville, MI, Robert Todd Braden of Nashville, MI and Ramzi (Lynnett) Braden of Charlotte, MI; daughter, Gina (Jamie) Clark of Nashville; 9 grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Carol) Braden of Ft. Meyers, FL, Terry (Susan) Braden of Charlotte and sister, Jill (Donald Zauner) Lea of Charlotte.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Nashville Baptist Church, Nashville, MI with Pastor Lester DeGroot officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte, MI. Jean Marie Bradford-Kline
Jean Marie Bradford-Kline of Eaton Rapids…Loving, caring, magnificent wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Gifted communicator, listener and cheerleader. Accomplished historian and author. Child of Christ, Jean Marie Bradford-Kline died July 31, 2010 at home, with her family by her side. She was born April 15, 1932 to Walter and Clara (Kellogg) Bradford. Jean lived her entire life in the Eaton Rapids area. She graduated from Olivet High School in 1949, Lansing Community College in 1975 and earned her BSA and MSW from Michigan State University in 1979 and 1981. Jean wanted to leave the world a better place. She accomplished that with her dedication and commitment to the various organizations she belonged to and the work that she did. She served on the Eaton Rapids City Council and DDA. She was treasurer, secretary, organizer, crafter, baker and cook for the Eaton Rapids Area Historical Society. She was co-owner of Corner Collections Gift and Collectables with her daughter for 25 years. Other than her family, her proudest legacy was her work as founder and director of the Eaton Rapids Senior Center, a position she held with the highest esteem for 20 years. She helped hundreds of seniors live richer and fuller lives, instilling in them there was a lot more living to do, regardless of age. While serving the Senior Center she was the leading force in purchasing and remodeling the facility as it stands today.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gineva and brothers, Lyle, Walter and Alden. Left to grieve her passing are her husband of 38 years Cernyw Kline; son, Jack, (Terri) Cleeves; daughter, Jill (Larry) Skinner all of Eaton Rapids; grandchildren Nathan Skinner, Jonathan Skinner, Sarah Skinner, Jacob Cleeves and Jessica Cleeves; sister, Winona Davis; brothers, Kyle (Margaret) Bradford, Bill (Marlene) Bradford, John (Vicki) Bradford; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Rapids Area Historical Society in care of Jill Skinner. .
Benjamin A. Bradley
Benjamin Allyn Bradley, 23, of Charlotte, died Friday, April 23, 2010. Ben was born August 6, 1986 in Charlotte, the son of Ivan & Beverly (Stall) Bradley.
He is survived by his parents along with his siblings: Heather and Cameron. He is also survived by his sweetheart, Audrey Baughman; grandparents, Evelynn and Douglas Stall; great grandmother, Dorathea Stall; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell and Dorothy Bradley and great grandfather, Verle Stall.
Ben served in the Marine Corps from August of 2005 to August 2009 serving two deployments to Iraq. He loved the Lord and enjoyed playing the guitar, doing so on the worship team while on the Marine Base, and currently with the Nashville Assembly of God Church. While in high school, he played the Tuba and sousaphone in the Charlotte bands, ran on the track team, and was active in Boy Scouts and the New Country 4-H Club. While he had a very gentle nature, he was adventurous and loved life.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Nashville Assembly of God Church with Pastor Glenn Branham officiating. Interment as at Gresham Cemetery.
Richard Lee Bradley
Richard Lee Bradley of Springport, Michigan, age 59 of Springport died Monday morning June 7, 2010 at his residence under the care of Great Lakes Home Hospice. Born April 14, 1951 in Albion, Michigan the son of Tom and Eva (Eaton) Bradley. Richard was a welder by trade formerly working for Hayes-Albion and most recently working as Supervisor for Johnson Systems in Marshall. A member of the Big 9 Sportsman Club and a hunting enthusiast that loved spending hunting time with his son, Thomas. He also enjoyed Classic Cars from the parades too working and restoring cars with friends Mark Clawson and step-son, Robin Eldred. He was preceded in death by his first wife and brother, David Bradley.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Ruth; daughters, Michelle (Tom) Hageman of Indianapolis, Jennifer Bradley of Wisconsin, Stephanie Bradley of Black Canyon City, AZ; son, Thomas J. Bradley of Jackson and step-son, Robin (Melissa) Eldred of Eaton Rapids; 10 grandchildren; parents, Tom and Eva Bradley of Springport; brother, Doug (Diane) Bradley of Narrow Lake; sisters, Brenda (Terry) Fair of Arizona and Ann Flanders of Springport; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on June 10, 2010 from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with the Rev. Stephen Klink, officiating. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made directly to the family in care of Ruth Bradley. .
Barbara J. Brandon
Barbara Jeanne Brandon, 58, of Charlotte, loving wife, mother, Grammy, friend and cancer warrior, lost her valiant struggle against cancer on Tuesday, Feb. 23 with her family by her side, as they have been throughout her illness. Barb was born October 15, 1951 in Charlotte, the daughter of Henry and Roberta (Thornton) VanDeMoortel. She worked as an eligibility specialist with the State of Michigan until her illness forced her to retire. Barb was a very active and staunch supporter of the Charlotte Relay for Life and will be missed by all of her fellow relayers.
She is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Bandon; daughters, Chara L. Grinold, and Bobbi J. Brandon (Kimberly Thompson), both of Charlotte; grandchildren, Finn Grinold, Jaigen Brandon and Taylor Thompson; brothers, Charles (Chuck) and Sally VanDeMoortel of Battle Creek, Larry (Ann) Becktel of Manchester, Gerry (Deanna) Becktel of Cloverdale; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edie Helms, Pam Johnson, Larry Pifer, Kevin (Kathy) Brandon; special friends William (Bill) and Martha Cooper and Charlene (Char) and Bruce Wakeman and many other friends and family who she loved with all her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dick Becktel and Ron Helms; sister-in-law, Sue Pifer; and mother-in-law, Betty Brandon.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Pray Funeral Home, with Rev. Phil Hobson officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Charlotte Relay for Life -- Team Betty’s Beacons or Eaton Community Hospice.

Francis Brandt
Francis Brandt, 71, of Potterville, passed away at home on Friday, September 17, 2010. He was born June 25, 1939 in Charlotte, Mich., the son of Frank and Pearl (Redfield) Brandt. He worked as a machine repairman at General Motors for 42 years, as well as being a farmer for most of his life. Francis also loved gardening, fishing, camping and hunting. He enjoyed watching Tigers Baseball, deer and other wildlife.
Francis is survived by his wife of 53 years, Corrine; children, Catherine (Jerry) Neal of Ithaca, Penny Brandt of Potterville, Pam (Mark) Benton of Potterville and Susan Wrubel of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Scott (Olivia) Cole, Justin Cole, Kara Wrubel, Tori Benton and Jamie Wrubel; sisters, Mary Davis, Judith Hansen and Teresa Hammond; brothers, Floyd (Connie) Brandt and John (Susie) Brandt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Victor Brandt and sister, Anna Marten.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Charlotte with Father Francis Mossholder officiating. Interment was at Benton Township Cemetery.
If desired memorial contributions may be made to St Mary Catholic Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Arrangements were made by Pray Funeral Home.
Ethel Mae Brewer
Ethel Mae Brewer of Springport, Age 81, passed away at her home, October 18, 2010. Ethel was born in Laura, KY March 15, 1929, the daughter of Freeman and Bertha (Mullins) Stanley. She loved to bake, hunt mushrooms, can, rake leaves and work in her flower and vegetable gardens.
Ethel is survived by her daughters, Nadine (Jack) Frizzell of Springport, Betty (Brian) Chamberlain of Springport; grandchildren, Brian (Shawn) Frizzell of Albion, Rusty Frizzell of Springport, Andy Frizzell of Eaton Rapids, Jason (Aleisha) McClure of Okemos, Nicole Chamberlain of Springport, Brett (Heather) Chamberlain of Springport; 7 great grandchildren, Kevin and Kyle Frizzell, J.J., Jasmine and Sinnedy McClure, Madilynn Chamberlain; brothers, Howard (Doris) Stanley, Donnie (Elaine) Stanley; sisters, Hazel (Ersel) Scott, Josephine (Dean) Tiller, Linda (Leroy) Jewell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Brewer, parents; sisters, Faye Maynard, Shirley Arnold; brothers, Clayton, Irvin, Chester, Everett and Freeman Jr.; special friend, Doug Eaton.
Funeral services were held October 21, 2010 at the Shelly Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main St. Eaton Rapids. Pastor David Kingsbury officiated. Interment followed at Tompkins Center Cemetery. Judith A. Bromley
Judith Ann Bromley, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, 66 of Grand Ledge, gracefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 16, 2010. Judy was born Sept. 29, 1943 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Hysell) Robinson and had been a Grand Ledge resident since 1975.
She dearly loved and enjoyed her family. She was a member of the Real Life Church of Charlotte where she helped in the Church nursery and loved studying the Bible.
She was an avid Detroit Tiger fan, enjoyed NASCAR racing, loved trains, enjoyed writing short stories, was an avid history buff and loved baking.
Judy has served as a leader in the Brownies and Girl Scouts, had served as a teachers aide in the Delta Center Elementary School and had a great sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Gerald and Pete Robinson.
Surviving are four children, Paula (Tom) Bouck of Grand Ledge, Greg (Allegra) Bromley of Lansing, Amy (Christopher) Mills of Mulliken and Stephanie (Chad) Wienert of Sedalia, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Shelbie Bouck, Alex Wienert, Brandon Root, Christopher Chisholm, Vanessa and Britney Warrington; two great grandchildren, Adrianna and Aiden Downs; sister, Joyce (Richard) Dubiel of Toledo, Ohio and her former husband, Marvin Bromley.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held Thursday, April 22, at the Real Life Church in Charlotte with Pastor Andy Shaver officiating.
