Jimmie Davidson

Jimmie Davidson passed away on May 4, 2010. He was born February 2, 1942 in Hazard Kentucky to Denny and Elizabeth Davison. Jim served 6 years in the Army and retired from General Motors. He had a passion for owning and restoring classic cars. You never knew what was coming up the driveway on the car trailer. He loved showing cars, selling car parts, swap meets, antiquing, garage sales, always with his wife right by his side. Always together, never apart. He was hard working, always busy. He couldn’t stand things un-done. He was very generous and always willing to give a helping hand. He made sure every grandchild or great grandchild rode on the tractor with him. When they came to visit, projects were put on hold. Papa wanted to spend “special” time with his “specials”. A favorite saying of Papa’s was, “Got your lifejacket on?” This was his way of showing he wanted them to be protected and loved.

He is survived by 7 great kids, Jodi (Marlene Inglis) O’Connell, Mary Wilcox, LeighAnn (John) Cooper, Sandra (Dale) Ellison, Aaron (Missy) Achors, Jim (Ramia) Davidson, Greg (Patty) Davidson; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was the heart of his wife, Phyllis (Johnson) Davidson. “Although I’m not there by your side, my love for you will not ever subside. He’s answered Heaven’s call, but he knows that someday I’ll be coming and he’ll be waiting, and my heart will be complete again.”

Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice in loving memory of Jim.
