Larry J. Ekins
Larry J. Ekins of Onondaga, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, while surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at the age of 68.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Diane (Howe) Ekins; three children, Shari (Randy) Robinson, Mary (Jack) Zietz, and Martin Ekins; four grandchildren, Brandi (Andy) Curl, Mitch (Nikita) Robinson, Adam Ryan and Kenneth Upp; one great grandson, Cooper Cur; one sister, Donna (John) Kapustka; three brothers, Dick (Elanor), Steve (Suzanne) and Ron (Sheila) Ekins, and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruby (Olney) Ekins and a great grandson, Zavier Robinson. He was a member of the Child’s Bible Church and was very active with the church. Larry also served many people by working on cars and doing carpentry work.
Funeral services were held at the Child’s Bible Church on Monday, May 24, 2010. Pastor John Isham officiated. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery. Kylie M. Erdman
Kylie Marie Erdman, of Portland, passed away at Hospice House of Mid Michigan Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 with her family by her side.
She was born May 17, 1979 in Hastings, daughter of Gary Lee Erdman and Jackie L. (Cassel) Mulholland.
Kylie embraced the challenge of having Huntington Disease with grace and dignity and lived her life to the fullest.
She lit our hearts with her smile, and now she is brightening the heavens.
Preceding her in death are her father, Gary L. Erdman; grandparents, Fred Erdman, Ruth Petrie, Joseph and Audrey Cassel; great aunt, Charlene and uncle, Jack DeHaan.
Surviving are her parents, Jackie and Craig Mulholland of Sunfield; sisters, Amy Erdman of Ann Arbor, Danielle (Craig) Bull of DeWitt; grandparents, Dale Petrie of Sunfield, Lucille Bos of Grand Ledge; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday Jan. 27, 2010 at the Sunfield United Brethren Church.

Interment was in the East Sebewa Cemetery.

Marguerite I. Evans
Marguerite I. Evans, age 88, a lifelong resident of Bellevue, passed away on February 7, 2010 at Hinds Hospice Home in Fresno, Calif. after suffering a sudden illness.
Marguerite was born February 14, 1921, in Bellevue. She was a lifelong and active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She took great pride that her father helped build the original little church and she participated in most activities of the church right up until leaving for California in October 2009 to stay with her daughter. She enjoyed helping design one of the stained glass windows in the new church. Her faith, friends and her little church were most important in her life.
Marguerite retired from the Kellogg Company and was a member of the 25 Year Club. She was a past member of the ETC. Club and a book club. She supported all the activities of her children as they grew. She knitted many a dishcloth and enjoyed gifting her friends. Marguerite was an excellent cook and made the best apple pie. She was an avid reader and had a beautiful prayer life. She always had a garden and took great pride in her flowers and vegetables.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth; stepmother, Rosa; brothers, Harry, Joseph and John; her husband, Leonard Evans Jr. in 1990; sons, Leonard Evans III in 1971, Michael C. Evans in 1986 and Edward A. Evans in 2003.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Adams (J. Gary) of Madera, Calif.; she was the grandmother of Peter Jon Adams of Bremerton, Wash., Angela M. Garcia of Madera, Calif., and Derek E. Evans of Muskegon and was the great grandmother of six.
A Memorial Mass for Marguerite will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bellevue. Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Abbie Lynn Fears
Abbie Lynn Fears, of Eaton Rapids, loving daughter of Mary Gleason and James Fears, found peace Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 after a courageous three year battle with breast cancer.
Abbie was a 2007 Baker College graduate, and was employed as an Office Manager for Kelley Cawthorne, a position she was extremely proud of. She was a passionate mother and a wonderful sister and daughter. Abbie enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, Detroit Tigers Baseball, and photography. She was also very active as a Cub Scout mother to pack #653.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Jayce.
Surviving are her mother, Mary and father, James; three sons, Austin, Shyre and Quentin; two sisters, Valerie and Erin; two brothers, Michael and Edward; nieces and nephews, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins; best friend Bren, Ginny, Tischa and Margaret.

Memorial celebration of Abbie’s Life will take place this spring. The family is being served through the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids.

Glenn E. Fincham
Glenn E. Fincham, 91, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010. Mr. Fincham was born April 24, 1919 in Mabie, WV the son of Alva and Virginia (Waldron) Fincham.
Mr. Fincham was a baker, coal miner, worked at the Atomic Energy Plant in Ohio, was a mechanic for Nelson Chemical then retired as a millwright from Detroit Diesel. He served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Spica. Mr. Fincham was a devout Christian and faithful member of the Victory Baptist Church in South Boardman, MI.
He is survived by his son, Glenval (Judy) Fincham and daughter, Mary Alice (Bob) VaVerka; grandchildren, Susan (Pat) Authement, Ann (Dan)Roiter; 2 great-grandchildren, Devin and Amanda; sister, Juanita Vargo; half-sister, Nataline Jacobson and half-brother, Alva “Gene” Fincham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Fincham; sister, Geneva Ankrom and half-sister, Nancy Vargo.
Graveside services were 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at South Boardman Cemetery, South Boardman, MI with Pastor McQueen of Victory Baptist Burch officiating. Visitation was Friday, October 15, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home. Jeffrey A. Fisk
Jeffrey A. Fisk, 47, was called to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 7, 2010.
He was born January 27, 1963 in Battle Creek to Alan and Joyce (Gillies) Fisk. He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1981 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps for thirteen years attaining the rank of Sergeant. Jeff was an over-the-road truck driver for Yellow Transportation for 13 years. He enjoyed hunting, reading and being with his family.
Surviving are his mother, Joyce Fisk of Holland; sisters, Mary Lynn Bederke of Fennville, Lori Ann Roudebush of Oxford; nieces Kristy (Nick) VanSickle and Jenni Rombaugh; nephews, David A. Hindenach, Jason A. Hindenach and Mark A. Roudebush. He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Fisk.
A graveside memorial service took place 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue. Memorials may be made to the Charity of one’s choice.

Douglas B. Foglesong
Douglas B. Foglesong, of Eaton Rapids, passed away at home March 24, 2010 surrounded by family. Doug was born Sept. 11, 1948 in Alma, Michigan., to the late Bert E. and Yvonne E. (Browne) Foglesong.
He was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran and retired computer analyst for the State of Michigan. Doug was an avid softball and volleyball player.
He was preceded in death by sister, Betty Switzer and father-in-law, Roy Williams.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 26 years, Anita S.; children, Brian (Jackie) Foglesong of Olivet, Brent Foglesong of Marshall, Tony (Shar) McCall of Charlotte, and Eric (Dawn) McCall of Ypsilanti; seven grandchildren; sister, Sandra (Randy) Guild of Grand Ledge and mother-in-law, Lila Williams of Dimondale.
Funeral service was held Saturday, March 27, 2010, at the Holiham-Atkin Funeral Home, Grand Ledge with the Reverend Brad Rickard of Hospice Advantage officiating. Interment followed at Deepdale Memorial Park, Lansing, with military honors.
