Jill Marie McMullen
Jill McMullen, 33, of East Lansing, surrounded by her loving family, passed away Feb. 8, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 7, 1976 in Lansing, daughter to Dennis and Candace McMullen.
Jill was employed by ACI Finance of Mason as a consultant; was a graduate of Grand Ledge High School (1994) and Michigan State University with a degree in International Relations.
She enjoyed art, music, movies, traveling in Europe, MSU sports, and spending time with her worship groups at Riverview Church in Holt and her many friends around the state.
Jill was preceded in death by her grandparents, David and Gertrude McMullen, Len and Geraldine Greenwood, and her cousins Kyle McMullen and Al Vega.
Survivors include her loving parents, Dennis and Candy of Lansing, her brother Brian (Felicia) of Royal Oak, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lansing, with Pastor Bill Beachey officiating. Interment followed at Delta Center Cemetery, Delta Twp., Eaton Co.

Beverly K. McNary
Beverly Kay McNary, 64, of Charlotte, died Friday, September 10, 2010. She was a homemaker. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Joyce L. McWhorter
Joyce L. McWhorter, of Mulliken, passed away March 22, 2010 at age 88 at Hospice of Mid Michigan in Lansing. Joyce Nelson was born March 17, 1922 (St. Patrick’s Day) in Williamston, however, she spent most of her life in the Sunfield area.
Joyce graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1940. She graduated from Saint Lawrence Mercy school of Nursing in 1943 as a registered nurse. She married Max E. McWhorter (the love of her life) on Jan. 16, 1947. Max preceded her in death, 2005. Joyce practiced nursing at Hayes Green beach Hospital, Charlotte until 1986.
She is survived by son, Thomas L. (Wendy) McWhorter of Williamston; daughter, Marsha A. McWhorter of Kalamazoo; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Oren C. (Margie) Nelson of Florida. She will be missed by her loving family and the Sunfield community. May she find peace and be reunited with her husband and first son, Johnny (died 1951).
A private graveside service will take place with family only. In lieu of flowers, contributions can either be made to the Sunfield Area Sponsors of Programs for Youth (S.P.Y.’s) or Eaton county Animal Shelter C/O RFH, PO Box 36, Sunfield, MI 48890.

Joshua L. Meacham
Joshua L. Meacham, 37, of Osseo, Mich., died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010. Mr. Meacham was born Jan. 11, 1973 in Orlando, Fla., the son of Terry Meacham and Debbie (Marshall) Etheridge.
Mr. Meacham was a chef and an office manager. He enjoyed his pets and loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces. He is survived by his father, Terry Meacham of Atlanta, Ga.; mother, Debbie Etheridge of Charlotte; sister, Tiffany (Ross) Mumma of Eaton Rapids; grandparents, Ted and Evelyn Marshall of Charlotte; grandfather, Joe McArthur of Orlando, Fla.; nieces, Brittney Meacham, Brooke Mumma, Emily Mumma and Elizabeth Mumma, all of Eaton Rapids; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 at New Hope Community Church, Charlotte, with Pastor Randy Royston officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the family in c/o Debbie Etheridge.
Fehlman Ora Meader
Fehlman Ora Meader of Springport, passed away in East Lansing, December 1, 2010 at the age of 97. He was born in Vienna, ME, on October 21, 1913, the son of Charles L. and Annie (Begelow) Meader. Fehlman enjoyed deer hunting and woodworking. He made 79 doll cribs that were sent all over the country. Fehlman was a member of the Assembly of Yahweh Church in Eaton Rapids.
He is survived by his daughters, Bernice Averye of Allegan, Clair (Phil) Alward of Perry, Joy Miller of St. Joe, MO., Ann Holzheuer of Owosso, MI., son Ora (Sue) Meader of Iowa, 16 grandchildren; 19 great grand-children; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother Archie Meader of ME. He was preceded in death by his son, Berton Meader; daughter Esther Meader; 4 brothers, Norman, Kenneth, Leon and Linnwood Meader.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main St. Eaton Rap[ids. Pastor Bill McDiaraid and Pastor Samuel Graham officiated. Interment will be at Springport Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3100 W. Rd. East Lansing, MI 48823.
Timothy C. Meighen
Timothy Curtis Meighen, 54, of Dimondale, died April 6, 2010 in Charlotte. Timothy was born Jan. 15, 1956 in Toledo, Ohio, a son of Lewis and Margaret Meighen.
He was a Meijer employee and Vietnam-era Army veteran. Surviving are his daughter, Whitney S. Smith of Owosso; two brothers, Matthew William (Kathy) Meighen of Charlotte and Bernard James (Wanki) Meighen of Green Bay, Wis.; one sister, Rebecca Lynn Pedo of Lansing; nieces and nephews. A private service will be held at a later time. Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice, 2675 S. Cochran, Charlotte, MI 48813.
Richard K. Meinke
Dr. Richard Keydel Meinke, M.D., 88, of Mason, died March 7, 2010; born March 29, 1921, in Detroit, Mich., to Albert H. and Elsie (Keydel) Meinke, Sr.
Richard graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit, and earned his bachelor of science degree followed by his M.D. degree from the University of Michigan with an internship at Sparrow Hospital. He then served in the U.S. Army as a medical officer, 1st Lt. His surgical residency was at the May Clinic in Rochester, Minn., during which time he earned a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota.
Richard and Kaarina moved to East Lansing and they raised six children. He established his general surgical practice in Lansing. Over the years, Richard served as Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff at Ingham Medical Hospital. He also served as a clinical professor of surgery with MSU School of Medicine. In 1976, he moved to his home in Mason. On April 20, 1979, he married Joan E. (Wheeler) Patrick and retired in 1989. Dr. Meinke enjoyed many interests which included riding his John Deere, gardening and maintaining the property he dearly loved on Sycamore Creek; Tuesday afternoon get-togethers to “solve the problems of the world” with Charlie, Jim and Ralph; time at his cottage on Burt Lake; Meinke family reunions up north and Joan’s family reunions in West Va.; and reading snippets of “Down by the Sycamore”. He treasured family gatherings for birthday, holidays and sporting events. Family, friends and colleagues gathered at U of M to celebrate his 80th birthday, which began with an organ concert by grandson, Scott Myers at Hill Auditorium. He cherished each of the 25 years he sang in the choir at the First Presbyterian Church of Mason. In 2009, his church family he cherished surprised him with a party on his 88th birthday, attended by family, friends and colleagues.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert H. Meinke, Sr., and Elsie Keydel Meinke; first wife, Kaarina Ranta Meinke; sons, Philip Meinke and Theodore Meinke; and brothers, Albert H. Meinke, Jr., M.D.
Surviving are his wife, Joan E. (Wheeler) Meinke; daughters, Gretchen M. (William) Myers, Emily (Thomas Goniea) Meinke; sons, Richard R. (Gail Valentine) Meinke, Peter K. (Kitty Ravenhall) Meinke, Alan K. (Lori) Meinke and David M. Meinke; stepsons, Joedy J. (Bridget) Patrick, Mark S. (Noreen) Patrick, Richard A. Patrick, Jr., T. Sean (Theresa) Patrick, and W. Timothy (Alicia) Patrick; grandchildren, Geoffrey Ravenhall Meinke, Claire Meinke, Karista Meinke, Scott Myers, Amy Myers, Julie Myers, Christopher Meinke, Mary Meinke, William Meinke and Auna Fontaine; step-grandchildren, Terrance Patrick, Shannon Patrick, Katlynn Patrick, Corey Patrick, Anna Patrick, Quinn Patrick, Erin Patrick, Colin Patrick, Andrew Patrick and Daniel Patrick; three great grandchildren; brother, Paul (Suzanne) Meinke; sister, Ruth Milliken; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at First Presbyterian Church of Mason, 131 East Maple Street, Mason, with the Rev. Bill Pinches officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday, March 20 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, March 21 from 1-1:45 p.m.

Beatrice E. (Wise) Menzer “Bea”
Beatrice E. (Wise) Menzer “Bea” of Eaton Rapids went home to be with our lord on June 30, at the age of 87. Born June 29, 1923 to Roy Wise and Ethel Beardsley. Raised by her grandparents, James Stone and Elizabeth Butler in Mason, while living there she graduated form Ingham County Public Schools in May of 1939. While raising her three sons in Eaton Rapids she worked for Millers Ice Cream Factory and MSU Cafeteria. After retiring, she enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and doing things through Eaton Rapids Senior Center, until going to the Dimondale Center in 2005.
She is survived by her sons; Gerald and Eugene Gorton and Michael (Nancy) Menzer of Eaton Rapids, grandchildren; Brandy (Tim) Ureel of Charlotte, Jessica (Stephen) Barnum of Albion, David, Timothy, Michael, and Katie Lynn Menzer all of Eaton Rapids, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Bea is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband A. Willard Menzer, step-sons, Robert, Ross, Rex and Louis, and step-daughter, Margaret.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 6 at 1:00 p.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids, with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m., graveside services will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Eaton Rapids.
Scott D. Merren
Scott David Merren, 44, of Charlotte, died Thursday, December 30, 2010 after an illness of six months. Scott was born April 25, 1966 in Eaton Rapids, the son of Donald and Janet (Campbell) Merren and was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1984 Graduate of Bellevue High School and was employed as a carpenter for Karis Construction Co. He loved NASCAR, fishing and his friends. He was the life of the party, was the class clown and enjoyed making people laugh.
Surviving are: his daughters, Amanda (James Will) Hinton of Cincinnati, Ohio and Bethany Merren of Ionia; grandchildren, Scott Kakaris II, Madison Will and Kendra Will; his mother, Janet Merren of Charlotte and sisters, Loretta (Mark) Lee of Saginaw, Kim (Patrick) Rounds of Lansing and Deanna Barnum of Charlotte and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Merren in 2000 and his father, Donald Merren in 2003. Funeral services were held Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Rev. Darwin Kuhl officiating. Interment was in the Kalamo Hillside Cemetery in Kalamo Township.
Memorials may go to the family to offset expenses or to the McLaren Hospice.
