Elonda Kay “Lonnie” (Kyser) Watts
Elonda Kay “Lonnie” (Kyser) Watts of Eaton Rapids, age 54, died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing. Born on Halloween October 31, 1956 in Hillsdale, Michigan; the daughter of Carl Kyser and Onalee Flowers. Lonnie was an Eaton Rapids High School graduate, class of 1974. She received as associate degree in Business form Lansing Community College. Lonnie was a people person and had several jobs in the Eaton Rapids community. Working at the Gathering Grounds, Speedway, Eaton Rapids Medical Center and formerly Office Manager of Pittney-Bowes and Timberline Trading. She enjoyed Bingo and Casino’s but most important was being with family at home. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Kyser and sister, Renee Kyser; mother-in-law, Mary Evelyn Hernandez.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Donald Watts; son, Travis Watts of Eaton Rapids; mother, Onalee Kyser of Eaton Rapids; step-mother, Margaret Kyser-Schmidt of Eaton Rapids; father-in-law, Dale Hernandez; 5 sisters and brothers-in-law, Marsha (Bruce) Wood, Patricia (Paul) Baker, Bobbie Powers, Sandra (John) James and Connie (Dan) Parshall; several aunts, uncles and cousins from the Hillsdale area; and many many friends.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, December 15th at 1:00 p.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until service time. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in care of Donald Watts. Lois E. Watts
Lois E. Watts, formerly from Lansing, MI, age 71, born May 8, 1939 to Glenn and Lean Fletcher in Cadillac, MI, died June 29, 2010. Lois retired from general Motors in 1989.
She is preceded in death by her father Glenn Fletcher and son, Mst. Sgt. Gerry D. Watts. Lois is survived by her son, Gene Watts (Debbie), daughters, Teri Weir (Greg), Cathy Lone and Lori Rashid. Grandchildren: Jason, Justin, Travis, Anthony, Douglas, Leslie, Kyli, Alexis and Kelly Jo.
A celebration of her life will be held July 31, 2010 at 681 Rojean Dr. Stanton, MI 48888 @ 3:00 p.m.
Dennis P. Way
Dennis P. Way, 61, of Clarksville, died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at his home. Mr. Way was born Dec. 25, 1948 in Lansing, a son of Paul and Rose (Nosotti) Way.
Dennis was a Grand Ledge High School graduate, a Vietnam Army veteran, a former C & B Silo employee and currently an Amway employee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael. Surviving are his sister, Rhoda L. Way-Greenhoe (John) of Charlotte; brothers, Harry way of Mulliken; five aunts, Joan (Harry) Foster, Janet Brandsen, Nina Clevio, Dorothy Rogers and Alice Pantera; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Barker-Leik Funeral Home, Mulliken, with Denise Guilford officiating. Interment with military honors followed at Meadowbrook Cemetery.
Betty R. Webb
Betty Ruth Webb, 68,. of Supply, NC, died Saturday, July 17, 2010. She was born January 18, 1942 in Newberry SC the daughter of Fletcher and Ruby (Maness) Ashley Whitlock.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty Brown of Lansing, Peggy (David) Gardner of Charlotte, Carla (Mike) Fell of Longwood, NC; son, Thomas (Danella) Winters of Potterville; step-son, Roger (Donna) Webb of Willard, MO; step-daughter, Angela Merrifield of Portland; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren, Phoenix and Ruby; three step-grandchildren and special friends, Ray and Linda Winters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne “Jiggs” in 2007; grandson, Danny Fell in 1989; brother, Bobby Ashley in 1996 and mother, Ruby Whitlock in 2002.
Memorial services were held Thursday, July 22, 2010 at the South Cochran Church of God in Charlotte with Pastor Perry Purcell and Pastor Randy Royston officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte at a later date.
Arrangements were made by Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Matt O. Webb
Matt O. Webb, 52, of DeWitt, MI, died March 25, 2010 of lymphoma. He is the son of Colleen M. (Siegel) Webb, and the late Jack L. Webb of Eaton Rapids.
He is survived by his wife, Laura M. Webb; daughter, Hillary; and son, Blake; siblings, Shelly(Kent) Dillingham, Mark (J?ma) Webb, Lee (Frank) Kane, Burr (Elizabeth) Webb; in-laws and their families, Stephen and Denise Towns, Michael and Melissa Towns, Diane and Terry Epps, Suzanne and Frank Allen, and Karen Meagher. Matt grew up on Eaton Rapids where his love of sports (especially football, where he received All State honors) was fostered. He coached his children in soccer, T-ball, football and hockey. He loved doing anything with his kids or for his community, and will be greatly missed by all. His happiest times were with family and friends at the cottage that he and Jim built in Gladwin. Matt was employed by GM for 32 years where he formed many wonderful friendships.
A Memorial Service will be held at Redeemer United Methodist Church, 13980 Schavey Road, DeWitt, MI Friday, April 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to service. The Rev. Dr. Rodney J. Kalajainen will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 4065 Saladin Drive S.E., Grand Rapids, MI 49546 or to Sparrow Hospice house of Mid-Michigan P.O. Joyce Kay (Shamp) Weever
Joyce Kay (Shamp) Weever, 62, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
Joyce was born March 4, 1948 to her parents Ed and Lena (Dunham) Shamp of Charlotte, Michigan. She resided in Lakeview, Michigan and enjoyed the winters at her home in Webster, Florida. Many may remember Joyce from her work as a school teacher for Charlotte Public Schools of which she retired after 30+ years. Joyce graduated from Charlotte High School and earned her master’s degree from Michigan State University. Her passions included painting and spending time with family and friends. She was a caring, selfless person with a deep heart. Joyce Weever is survived by her husband of 38 years, Alex Weever, dog “Buddy” and her 3 sons, Todd (Lisa) Weever, AJ Weever, and Joel (Karen) Weever. She is survived by 5 grandchildren, Jade, Ethan, Jacob, Jonathan, Elainnie, and siblings, brother, Don (Shirley) Shamp, sister, Elsie Love, brother, Ed Shamp and many nieces and nephews. Joyce will be missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at Vermontville Bible Church on Saturday, July 31, 2010 with service starting at 1:00 p.m. followed by fellowship and a light lunch. Memorial donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to the Eaton community Hospice.

William R. Wehr
William (Bill) Rex Wehr of Barryton, formerly of Charlotte, 66, beloved husband of Judy, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at this home in Barryton with his loved ones by his side. Bill was born on February 23, 1943 in Charlotte to Rex and Dora (Stanke) Wehr. He was raised in Charlotte and was employed by GM-fisher Body for 30 years. On April 9, 1977 he married Judith Allen in Charlotte. Bill had been the sexton at Strong Cemetery in Barryton since 1995.
Before his health declined he was an avid hunter, fisherman and wood worker. When he was able, he enjoyed watching sports and participating in euchre tournaments. Bill had a strong work ethic. He was a friendly and caring man who enjoyed teasing others. His family was a huge part of his life.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1988, his son, Steven Rex Wehr in 1989, his father in 1990, his grandmother, Tillie Stanke in 2002 and his nephew, Michael Emenhiser in 2004.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy of Barryton, his children, Robin (Robert) Osenbaugh of Bellevue, Billie Joe (Ritchie) Powers of Aracdia, Ind., Robert (Sandy) Wehr of Vermontville and Amber (Fred) Todd of Barryton, his brother, David (Kayleen) Wehr, sisters, Jackie (Nolan) Spotts and Nancy Courtright, many nieces and nephews, 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, with one more grandchild and great grandchild on the way.

Barbara Lee (Hoag) Wells
Barbara Lee (Hoag) wells of Eaton Rapids, age 78, passed away at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, July 3, 2010. She was born at St. Lawrence Hospital, May 2, 1932. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Linwood and Pauline (Schray) Hoag. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry wells; sister, Sharon Bosworth of Lansing; sons, Scott (Barb) Wells of Lansing, Mark (Bobbi) Wells of Eaton Rapids; 7 grandsons, Corey, Kace, Dustin, Dylan, Travis, Craig and Curtis. After 4 generations of only boys, Corey and Amber gave her what she always wanted. A beautiful baby great granddaughter names Kylie Raynell Wells. She was born March 30, 2010. Barbara was able to hold and love her.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main St. Eaton Rapids with Pastor Daniel Hofmann officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing. Those desiring, may make contributions to the Fellowship Church Assembly of God, 4405 N. Galloway Rd. Lakeland, FL 33810 where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior last year.
Kari A. (Wolf) Wells
Kari A. (Wolf) Wells of Jackson passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010 after a long illness. Kari was born February 12, 1969 the daughter of Steve Wolf and Dawn Hall. She was a 1987 graduate of Springport High School. Kari was passionate about animals and animal rescue. She especially loved her dogs Jaime, Tasha and Zoe. A loving wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, amazing aunt and friend will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Edwin Wolf and grandparents, Hugh and June Peterson.
Kari is survived by her husband of 19 years, Joseph Wells; mother, Dawn Hall; father and step-mother, Steve and Diane Wolf; grandmother, Marilyn Wolf; sisters, Lindsay (Craig) Heintzelman, Kelsey Wilson and Amanda Wolf; brothers, Gary Wolf and Jim Wolf; nieces and nephew, Jed and Olyvia Wolf, Rachel Heintzelman and McKayla Wolf who will miss their Aunt Kari greatly; mother-in-law, Doris Wells; sister-in-law, Jeannie Purdy; brother-in-laws, Harvey Wells and David Wells. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private family services have been held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the Cascades Humane Society in memory of Kari.
