Lori S. Tobey
Lori S. Tobey, age 49, of Vermontville passed away Saturday, May 22nd, 2010 at Sparrow Hospital, in Lansing Michigan after a brave battle with cancer.
Lori was born in Charlotte, MI on July 16, 1960, the daughter of the late Robert and Bonnie (Thomason) Sears. She was raised in the Nashville area and attended Maple Valley Schools graduating from Maple Valley High School in 1978.
She worked as a Home Care Nurse at New Haven Adult Foster Care for several years before beginning her battle with cancer.
Lori was known for her ability to play a good practical joke on her friends. She never passed up an opportunity to visit a good garage sale or two, and enjoyed a very simple life. Her family was always her first priority, and spending time with her three grandchildren was a true source of happiness for Lori.
Lori is survived by her daughter, Shannon Tobey and her fiancée Josh Keeny; her son, Craig (Shawna) Tobey, three beloved grandchildren; Jarrad and Jada Love, Makenzie Tobey; her sister, Brenda (Dennis) Ward; two brothers, Ron (Jayne) Sears, David Sears; and her very special and beloved friend, Mr. Dean Dennie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bonnie Sears.
Funeral services will be held at the Daniels Funeral Home, Nashville, MI at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26th. The family will receive visitors Tuesday May 25th from 6-8 p.m. at The Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Donald Henry Todd
Donald Henry Todd went to be with the Lord, December 17, 2010 at the age of 92. He was born in Onondaga Twp, MI, June 3, 1918. Donald was a life time farmer in Onondaga. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 70, Oddfellows and Rebecca Lodge of Eaton Rapids, and the Onondaga Community Church. He was a 4-H leader for 30 years.
Donald is survived by his son, Larry (Joan) Todd of Onondaga; grandson, Scott (Cindi); granddaughter, Carrie; great grandson, Seth and great granddaughter, Tarah; brothers, Morris (Francis) Todd Michigan Center, Gale (Gloria) Todd of Concord; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita of 20 years and wife Emily of 41 years; son, Alan; 4 brothers, LeRoy, Austin, Bob and Garth; sister, Lorna.
Funeral services were held December 20,2 010 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main St. Eaton Rapids. Pastor William Muller officiated. Interment followed at Tompkins Center Cemetery. Alexia Kennedie Tourangeau
On November 3, 2010 Alexia K. Tourangeau, of Charlotte, was called home to be with the Lord. She was the new born infant daughter of Joseph Tourangeau of Lansing and Sara Robinson of Charlotte.
She is preceded in death by her great grandparents, Helen Cummans, Clifford Cummans, Helen Miller and Frank Emmons.
Surviving are her parents; grandparents, Russell and Marilyn Shelton of Charlotte, Kenny and Patty Robinson of South Carolina, James and Ann Sawade of Lansing and Kevin and Cheri Tourangeau of Illinois; her aunts and uncles, Jeff Robinson, Chris and Megan Robinson, Bethany Robinson and Justin Tourangeau.
Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2010, at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Mulliken, with Pastor Marty Saunders officiating.
She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family.
Arrangements were entrusted to Barker-Leik Funeral Home, Mulliken.
Roger Arnold Trombley
Roger Arnold Trombley, age 62 of Eaton Rapids died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the Dimondale Nursing Care Facility. Born September 29, 1947 in Sioux Ste. Marie, one of nine children born to Arnold Edward and Olive (Wingling) Trombley. Roger served in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1956 to 1969. He retired in July of 2002 as Shift Supervisor in Computer Operations with Family Independent Agency for the State of Michigan. Preceding him in death were his parents, and brother and sister, Brian and Nancy Trombley.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sharon; 3 children, Melinda (Dan) Millward of Jackson, Arnold (Teya) Trombley of Eaton Rapids and Roger (Shimul Bhuva) Trombley of Ann Arbor; one grandchild, Dillon Bhuva-Trombley; 4 brothers, Paul Trombley, Arnold (Cheryl) Trombley, Mark Trombley and Tom (Christine) Trombley; sisters, Margarite (Leonard) Miller and Mary Trombley; sister-in-law, Barb Trombley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with the Rev. Mark Payne of the Robbins United Methodist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer Memory Walk of the Dimondale Center or AA Alano Club of Lansing.

Stanley A. Trumble
Stanley A. Trumble, 75, of Vermontville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 3, 2010 with his family by his side.

Peyton Max Tyszko
Peyton Max Tyszko of Albion, infant son of Todd and Patricia (Piepkow) Tyszko died on May 7, 2010 at birth.
He is survived by his parents, three siblings, Tyler, Alicia and Cameron Tyszko all of Albion, material grandparents, Donna Piepkow of Albion and Ronald and Bonnie Piepkow of Springport, paternal grandparents, Tom and Candy Tyszko of Albion. He is also survived by his maternal great grandparents, Joyce and Bernard Piepkow of Springport, paternal great grandparents, Thomas Tyszko Sr. of Sebring, Florida, and Grace Hose of Albion.

Johannes E. Van Sickle
Johannes “Joe” Ervin Van Sickle, 45, of Bellevue went to be with his Lord, peacefully, Friday, March 12, 2010 at his home after a six week battle with pancreatic cancer. Joe was born October 21, 1964 to Vaughn “Jim” and Joan (Vliek) Van Sickle in Battle Creek. He worked concrete construction for most of his adult life and for Stanton Concrete for three years.
Joe is survived by his wife, Diane (Jensen) Van Sickle of Bellevue; sons, Ryan Coats of Charlotte, Jo-V Van Sickle at home, Michael Flores of Bellevue; daughters, Caitlyn (Christopher) Thomas of Bellevue, Emily Zender at home, Casey Flores of Battle Creek. Brandi Flores of Bellevue, Abby Flores of Colon; grandchildren, Kelsie Joe, Kadin and Lane; parents, Vaughn “Jim” and Joan Van Sickle of Bellevue; sister, Jill (Chris) Brauer of Bellevue; brother, Jack Van Sickle of Colorado; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and many numerous friends and family. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and a great niece.
Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Steele’s deer barn and most of all…his family and friends. A memorial service to celebrate Joe’s life took place Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Bellevue First Baptist church with Pastor Donald Francis officiating. Memorial donations may go to Bronson Borgess Hospitality House. The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.
James M. VanDenDriessche
James Michael “Big Jim” VanDenDriessche, of Hastings, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at eh age of 60. He was born June 16, 1950 in Charlotte, the son of Edward and Augusta (VanDeMoortel) VanDendriessche. Jim attended Charlotte High and graduated from Olivet Adult Ed. He worked for Airway Mfg. Tevilo, Delfi in Grand Rapids and retired from General Motors Parts Plant. Jim loved to attend and work at the Horse Auctions, Squirrel hunt, ride motorcycles, fishing and long rides on the back roads of Barry, and Eaton counties, family gatherings for big dinners, cookouts, bonfires, fire works, where he could relax with family. Jim was loved deeply by his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, big and small.
He is survived by his special friend Char VanDenDriessche; his four children, daughter, Wendy of Washington State, two sons, Nick (Amy) of Oklahoma, Bill (Melinda) of Florida, and D.J. of Hastings, step-children, Bobbi Aiston of Hastings, Diana Anders, Kim Williams, Kelly Norman all of Texas. Dennis Alexander of California, Tim Alexander of Arizona, Debbi Carron of Arkansas, Cindy Kruger of Florida; 26 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; two brothers, Joe (Yvonne) of Eaton Rapids, Edward (Elaine) of Charlotte; two sisters, Millie (Joe) Zakora of Vermontville, and Dee VanDenDriessche of Oak Park.

Robert VanLiew
Robert VanLiew, 90, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Mr. VanLiew was born April 9, 1920 in Flint, MI the son of William and Maude (Nye) VanLiew.
He is survived by his daughter, Debora (Ron) Bruckner of Zephyrhills, FL; daughter, Bonnie (Jon) Hoyt of Dimondale; son, Robert (Jackie) VanLiew of Pennsylvania; daughter-in-law, Vickie VanLiew of Dimondale; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren, and special love, Jackie Pruden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene in 2000; son, Jerry in 2008 and 5 siblings.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 at Pray Funeral Home with Pastor Marc Livingston officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte, MI.
