Robert C. Roiter
Robert C. Roiter, 87, of Charlotte, went to his happy hunting ground on Wednesday, March 25, 2010. Mr. Roiter was born Dec. 23, 1922 in Charlotte, the son of Charles J. and Nora (Rogers) Roiter.
Mr. Roiter served his country in the U.S. Marines during WWII. After returning home, Bob worked at the Charlotte Chair factory for 23 years. After that, he worked for the State of Michigan Highway Department and later was a supervisor at the Ionia Penitentiary furniture factory from 1968 to 1982.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles J. Roiter and Nora Mae Rogers; sister, Arline J. (Harold) Philip; brother, Richard M. Roiter and his first wife, Lola Belle Cortright.
He is survived by his second wife, Alma; sons, Charles “Lynn” (Jane) Roiter and Jerry L. (Margaret) Roiter; daughters, Susan M. Farr and Patricia I (Kenneth) Fleece; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Earl J. (Sharon) Roiter and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Pastor Scott Collier officiating. Interment was in Bosworth Cemetery, Olivet.

Bennie L. Rose
Bennie Lee Rose, 68, of Charlottte, died Monday, November 8, 2010 following a lengthy illness. He was born in Knoxville, Tenn. in April 11, 1942, the son of Ralph and Virginia (Richards) Rose. Bennie served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Bennie, who was known to most of his friends as “Old Far”, worked at Michigan Woodwork and Specialties for 15 years until 1993. He is remembered by his many friends and family as a person who always wanted to keep busy. His big heart and great sense of humor led him to gather many friends.
He is survived by his son, Mike Rose; daughters, Elizabeth Rose and Sheila Pryde, and his four grandchildren, Aaron Michael Rose, Christopher Curtis Antes, Meghan Elizabeth Ryann Rose and Hailli Fay Nicole Rose.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Lou Rose.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2010 at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, with Reverend Charles Kruger officiating. Arrangements were made by Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte.
Florence Louise Royston
Florence Louise Royston, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at the age of 84. She was born on March 7, 1926 to Alton and Opal (Nichols) White at the White Centennial Farm in Eaton County. She attended Martin School and Charlotte High School, graduating in 1943. She then received a degree from Acme Business College in Lansing. Her employment included Wilcox-Gay, General Aluminum, Eaton County Probate Court, Kroger and retired from Michigan Department of State Driver Improvement in 1988. She played the clarinet in the CHS band and piano at West Benton and Gresham United Methodist Churches. Another interest was arranging family photographs and she spent many enjoyable hours organizing photos and reminiscing. Walking along the country road gave her many hours of exercise, relaxation and prayer.
She is survived by her family, Jerry (Sue) Royston, Jill (Larry) Smith-Walters of Charlotte, Jeff Royston of Lake City, Joanne (Kelly) of Charlotte and their father, Eugene Drozdzak Royston of Lake City; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws; sister, Phyllis Goodrich of Hastings; and sister-in-law, Jeanne White of Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, Robert Goodrich and brother, Fred White.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2010 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, MI with Pastor Kathy Smith officiating. Interment will be in Gresham Cemetery, Charlotte, MI. Visitation will be Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Friday, September 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. just prior to the service at Pray Funeral Home.

Ronald R. Royston
Ronald R. Royston, 53, of Charlotte, went to the loving arms of Jesus on June 22, 2010 surrounded by his family and friends. Ron was born June 15, 1957 to Ernam and Virginia (Holley) Royston. He retired from General Motors Warehouse in April of 2009. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and watching for his “30 point buck.”
Ron is survived by his parents; sisters, Silver (Marvin) Spitzley and Dawn (Dan) Hoffman both of Charlotte; daughter, Cassie (Casey) King of Stevensville; son, Jason (Melissa) Hulsebos of Springport; grandson, Camden King; special friend, Linda Moloney; niece, Autumn (Gary) Teeple and family; nephew, Nathan (Sarah) Spitzley and family; aunts and uncles; cousins,; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Ethan Teeple.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte with Pastor Randy Royston officiating.

Lawrence M. Ruedisueli
Lawrence (Rudy) Mitchel Ruedisueli, 72, of Lake Odessa, died Saturday, April 10, 2010. Mr. Ruedisueli was born April 2, 1938 in Wayne County Mich., the son of Alphonse and Cecilia (Corbin) Ruedisueli.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael E. Ruedisueli; brothers, Allen Ruedisueli, Alphonse Ruedisueli, Carl Ruedisueli; and sisters, Josephine Pettingill and Elizabeth LeBlanc.
Mr. Ruedisueli is survived by his children, Collyne (Dale) Barnard of Sunfield, Christopher (Marcia) Ruedisueli of Nashville, Patricia Cook of Nashville; stepson, Robert Harr of St. Clair Shores; stepson, Aaron Harr of Fenville; brother, Carl Ruedisueli of Warren; six grandchildren, Jessica Harwood, Dustin (Elizabeth) Stephens, Michelle Ruedisueli, Amy Ruedisueli, Rachael Ruedisueli, Christiana Ruedisueli; four great grandchildren, Dominik Stephens, Kyra-Rein Stephens, Skyler Stephens and Jayden Stephens; sisters, Veronica Kowaleski of Deluth, Ga., and Jane Morningstar of Oscoda. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the Nashville Assembly of God Church with Pastor Glenn Branham officiating.

Max L. Rugg
Max L. Rugg, 75, of Battle Creek, died April 23, 2010 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born April 9, 1935 in Augusta, the son of Ora and Katherine (Tesch) Rugg.
He was employed by Michigan Carton, Battle Creek as a machine operator for 44 years retiring in 1997. Max enjoyed bowling, tractor pulls, hunting, fishing, cutting wood, watching television, casinos and especially family get-togethers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Monta Lou (Heintz) Rugg; parents and many brothers and sisters.
Max is survived by his daughters, Annette (Mike) Morris of Charlotte and Bethann Pettit of Battle Creek; five grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; his brother, Bob Rugg of Battle Creek and sisters, Henrietta Hamacher and Clara Rathburn both of Battle Creek. Funeral services took place Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the Shaw Funeral Home, Battle Creek, with Michael Rugg officiating. Burial at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House of Michigan. The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home.
Norman H. Satterly
Norman H. Satterly, age 58, of Nashville, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010, at his Nashville home after a year-long battle with cancer.
Norm was born in Lansing, MI, on January 8, 1952, the son of Harold W. and June (Baker) Satterly. He was raised in the Nashville/Charlotte area and attended local schools, graduating from Maple Valley High School in 1970. He was the husband Carol (Curtiss) Satterly. the couple was married on July 11, 1987, in Hastings, MI. They made their home together in Nashville and celebrated 22 years of marriage in 2009.
Norm worked for many years for the IGA Corporation. He worked for Eaton county, maintaining the jail and other buildings, for 23 years before retiring in 2009.
Norm’s passion was restoring and collecting Allis Chalmers antique tractors. Over the past 20 years, Norm participated in antique tractor pulls all over the state of Michigan. He was an active member of tractor pulling clubs in Sunfield/Mulliken, Eagle, and Lyons, MI, and won many trophies. Norm had a variety of interests, including hunting and restoring a 1956 Chevy. He loved spending time and playing with his grandsons.
Norm is survived by his beloved wife Carol; sons, Kevin Curtiss of Delton, Kyle (Rachel) Curtiss of Howell; grandsons, Brendan Curtiss and Daniel Curtiss of Howell; daughter, Dondi Satterly of Ortonville; mother, June Satterly of Vermontville; sisters, Sonja (Duane) Hice of Charlotte and Teresa (Joe) Gooch of Vermontville; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Satterly in 2008.
In accordance with Norm’s wishes, there will be no service. An informal memorial reception will be held in his honor in the Maple Valley High School cafeteria from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 10th.
Memorial contributions may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville.
David Christian Schlee
David Christian Schlee, 48, of Charlotte, MI died Sunday, December 5, 2010. Mr. Schlee was born August 17, 1962 in Newport News, VA the son of Carl and Sally (Klingaman) Schlee. Mr. Schlee retired from general Motors in 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Tybnikar-Floyd) Schlee; son, Gregory (Ashli Hall) Schlee of Potterville; step-sons, Matthew (Kelly Yankee) Floyd of Marshall and David Floyd of Grand Ledge; step-daughter, Sarah (Robert Pifer) Floyd of Charlotte; grandchild, Sebastian Floyd; parents, Carl and Sally Schlee of Potterville; brother, William (Georgia) Schlee of Olivet; sister, Carol (Art Beaulieu) Schlee of Houghton Lake; brother, Dennis Schlee of Lansing; brother, Kenneth (Kim) Schlee of Charlotte; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Phyllis Conroy and Susan Schlee.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 10,2 010 at Pray Funeral Home with Pastor Terry La Duke officiating. Interment will be in Deepdale Cemetery, Lansing, MI. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 3:00 - 5:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Helping Hands of Charlotte.
