Nellie Harvey
90, of Nashville, Michigan, the daughter of Marion and Mabel (Eldridge) Hummel. Mrs. Harvey was born July 29, 1912, in Odessa Township, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at Pennock Hospital, Hastings, Michigan. She retired from Fisher Body in Lansing. Nellie enjoyed playing bingo and cards, traveling, family parties, enjoyed being with her family, and was a member of the Nashville VFW Post 8260. She is survived by daughters Dorothy Ilene Collier of Nashville, Donna (Ray) Olmsted of Nashville, Opal (Wesley) Gillons of Hastings, Michigan, sons Joe (Ginny) Harvey of Vermontville, Michigan, Bob Harvey of Nashville, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, sister Rosie (Donald) Thompson of Vermontville, several nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law Norma Hummel and Betty Hummel. Predeceasing her were husband Gayle Harvey in 1955, daughter Elizabeth Bodo in 2001, brothers LeRoy Hummel, Allen Hummel, Glen Hummel, Dick Hummel, sisters Ella Walton, Reta Erridge, Joyce West, Elaine Laiben, June Wellman and infant brothers Raymond, Burt and Charles Hummel. Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2002 at Sunfield Cemetery.
Robert John Wyble
91, of Charlotte, Michigan, died Thursday, November 7, 2002. Mr. Wyble was born March 1, 1911, in Kalamo, Michigan, the son of Thomas and Cecile (Rolf) Wyble. Robert was production worker for AE Hoover for 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, helping his neighbors and coffee at McDonalds. He is survived by companion Bernie Eaton, daughter Alice (James) Lundeen of Charlotte, Michigan, 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother Ted Wyble of Lansing, sister Lois Rich of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, and many nieces and nephews. His wife Madeline preceded him in death in 1980. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2002 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, Michigan with Pastor Mark Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Kalamo, Michigan. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday. Audrey Jean Kerekes
65, of Charlotte, Michigan, died Thursday, November 7, 2002. Mrs. Kerekes was born June 19, 1937 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Clare and Doris (Clarke) Swan. She attended the First United Methodist Church of Eaton Rapids, and enjoyed genealogy. She is survived by: husband of 45 years Paul Kerekes; 2 sons, Steve Kerekes and Mike (Donna) Kerekes, both of Charlotte, MI; daughter Kelley Smith, Hobe Sound, Florida.; 4 grandchildren, Christy, Jennifer, step-grandchildren Matt and Nathan Yager; "sister" Joyce Swan, South Haven, MI; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Howard Swan in 1999. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 11, 2002 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte with Pastor Tom Evans officiating. Interment will be in Millerburg Cemetery in Charlotte. Visitation will be 2 - 4p.m. and 7 - 9p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Pray Funeral Home. Betty Kay (Clever) Wainwright
70, of Charlotte, Michigan, died Thursday, November 7, 2002. Mrs. Wainwright was born May 29, 1932, in Hastings, Michigan, the daughter of Keith and Ernestine W. (Windeknechdt) Montgomery. Betty was an Executive Secretary at Carter's Inc. She enjoyed Arts and Crafts Shows, animals and was a member of Charlotte Congregational Church. She is survived by her husband Floyd "Bud" Wainwright; daughters Pat (Jerry Felty) Sulcer, Bradenton, Fl., and Kim (Chuck) Raleigh, Tampa, Fl., step-daughter Tracee Slack of DeWitt; grandchildren Andrea Bethea, Russell and Coty Slack, and great granddaughter Maya Bethea; and sibling Brenda Hart. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, Michigan with Rev. Patricia Stirling officiating. Interment will be in Gresham Cemetery in Charlotte, Michigan. Visitation will be Sunday 4 - 8 p.m. and Monday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home. 91, of Charlotte, Michigan, died Saturday, November 09, 2002. Mrs. Wickham was born February 13, 1911, in Sunfield, Michigan, the daughter of George R. and Marion E. (Hunter) Wirt. She was a bookkeeper for D & L Fuels and also had worked at Wilcox Gay. She had lived at Butternut Apartments for 15 years. She is survived by daughter Doris Jeanne Gould of Potterville, Michigan, 3 granddaughters; Diane Fielder of Holt, Shirley Maynard of Lansing and Patti (Skeeter) Lehman of Lansing, 2 great granddaughters, 2 great great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Wickham and two daughters Kathryn and Linda. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte, Michigan with Rev. Rich Mitterling officiating. Lee Wayne Perkins
57, of Charlotte, Michigan, died Tuesday, November 12, 2002. Mr. Perkins was born May 17, 1945, in Eaton Rapids, Michigan the son of Wayne L. and Dorothy M. (Tripp) Perkins. He was a production worker for Owens Illinois for 22 years. He was an avid Nascar Race fan. He is survived by his wife Linda (Root), sons Loran (Terri) Perkins of North Carolina, Lonnie (Beckey) Perkins of Charlotte, daughter Loretta (Jerry) Smith of Vermontville, Michigan, ten grandchildren; Brandon, Chris, Tierra, Ryan, Ronnie, Taylor, Kade, Jesse, Austin, and Owen, and brother Gerald Perkins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nanette. Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Monday November 18, 2002 at the Pray Funeral Home, with Chuck Jenson officiating. Mildred V. "Millie" Radee
95 of Charlotte, died Friday, November 15, 2002. Mrs. Radee was born March 22, 1907 in Indiana, the daughter of George W. and Edna (Turner) Duguid. She had owned and operated a Charlotte restaurant for many years. Her survivors include son George (Barbara) Radee of Charlotte, Daughter-in-law Florine Radee of Lansing, six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and half sister Genevieve Robins of Harrison. She was preceded in death by husband Erick Radee in 1955, son Irvin in 1982, brother Fred Duguid and half brothers Howard, Dudley and Charles. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2002 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte with R. Raymond Rossell officiating. Michael Nemeth
88, of Lansing, formerly of Charlotte, Michigan, died Tuesday, November 19, 2002. Mr. Nemeth was born February 10, 1914, in Mishawaka, Indiana, the son of Francis and Theresia (Horvath) Nemeth. He was a farmer. He is survived by sisters Helen (Albert) Vanacker and Mary Nemeth both of Lansing. He was preceded in death by sister Theresa Goodrich, brother Frank Nemeth and twins John and Mary Nemeth. Funeral mass will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2002 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Charlotte, Michigan with Rev. Father Denis R. Spitzley officiating. Interment will be in Gresham Cemetery in Charlotte. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, Michigan. Iris L. Allen
79, of Charlotte, Michigan, died Wednesday, November 20, 2002. Iris was born August 7, 1923, in Grand Ledge, Michigan the daughter of Edward G. and Ina Belle (Watts) Johnson. She grew up in Potterville, then moved to California at the age of 20. She returned to this area in 1966 and worked for Aluminum Extrusions for 30 years until her retirement. She is survived by son Michael (Kathy) Allen of DeWitt, Michigan, daughters Annette (Mike) Greenwood of Lubbock, Texas and Deborah Long of Linden, Michigan, 7 grandchildren; Susan Werner, Gary Firestone Jr., Brett Greenwood, Tiffany Allen, Taylor R. Allen, Sgt. Eric Long and Marisa Long, and 7 great grandchildren, brothers Richard (Penny) Johnson of Olivet, Michigan and Jack (Betty) Johnson of Charlotte. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2002 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, Michigan with Pastor Pat Brooks officiating. She is survived by son Dennis (Marian) Mayne of Charlotte, 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Mayne in 1984 and 3 sons Jimmy, Edward and Donald. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2002 at Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte, Michigan with Rev. Richard Wilford officiating. Mrs. Lanore Emma Cole
86, of Bellevue, Michigan, died Saturday, November 23, 2002. Mrs. Cole was born May 21, 1916, in Barry County, Michigan, the daughter of Vern Gilding and Vema Farnham Gilding. She is survived by sons Wayne of Bellevue and M. Bruce of Charlotte; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Vern (Betty) Gilding of Charlotte, Don (Lela), Ken (Jean) and John all of Clarksdale, AZ; sisters Kate Crawford of Leslie, Geraldine Burrows of Mt. Clemons and Roberta Gilding of Kalkaska; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, in 1989, and great-granddaughter, Shayna in 1992. A graveside service at Gresham Cemetery will be held 2:p.m. Tuesday with R. Raymond Rossell officiating. There will be no visitation at funeral home. Paul D. Bishop
90, of Charlotte, Michigan, died November 24, 2002. Mr. Bishop was born December 2, 1911 in Eaton County, Michigan, the son of Deloss and Lottie (Dean) Bishop. He was a school teacher for 30 years in Jackson County, 8 years in Phoenix, Arizona and 20 years in Charlotte where he also served as a principle in the Charlotte Public School System. He served in the Army during WWII with campaigns to Western Pacific and Southern Philippines. He is survived by nieces Alyce Ann Holmes, Phyllis Bishop, nephews Rex Dean (Cindra) Bishop, Steven Charles (Danette) Bishop, George David (Jane) Bishop, Paul Merlin (Joan) Bishop. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice (Howey) Bishop, sister Alberta Schaaf and brother Rex Bishop. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at Pray Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Davis officiating. Interment will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Twp., Michigan. 60, of Charlotte, Michigan, died Monday, November 25, 2002. Mrs. Wawiernia was born April 13, 1942, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of James and Lucile (Slanker) Florence. She was a Retired Office Manager and Bookkeeper for Rudoni Management. She was a great supporter of her grandchildren and Eaton County 4-H. She was a member of the Vermontville Congregational Church. She is survived by son Scott (Paula) Wawiernia of Columbia Station, Ohio, daughter Tracey (Jeff) Gordeneer of Vermontville, Michigan, step-son Tony (Charlie) Wawiernia of Vermontville, 5 grandchildren Brandy, Trevor, Tim, Ashley and Matt, sisters Jean Brand of Charlotte, Judy Hamilton of Florida, and brother Richard (Betsy) Florence of California. She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew in 1996. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2002 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, Michigan with Rev. Eric Lison officiating. Marvin Thomas Kage
59, of Charlotte, Michigan, died Monday, November 25, 2002. Mr. Kage was born October 7, 1943, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan the son of Marvin H. and Flora (Wilbrett) Kage. He married Joyce Carr, July 1, 1988 in Cadillac, Michigan and was a Construction Contractor. He was a member of Pheasants Forever and loved to hunt, fish, the out of doors and enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by his wife Joyce Kage, son Matthew, his parents of Utica, brothers Michael Kage of Madison Heights and Mark Kage of Potterville, sisters Myrna (Richard) McLaren of Sunnyvale, California, Marlene (Al) Mayo of Utica, Michigan, and Mary Lee (Ted) Jerzy of Washington, Michigan. Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2002 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, Michigan, with Rev. Bret McAtee officiating. Following the service there will be a time of reflection and hope at the Charlotte Christian Reformed Church in Charlotte. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time for the service.
