Moore, Gordon E.

Lansing, MI

Age 73, passed away on November 25, 2001. He was born on December 22, 1927 in Alma, and has lived in the Lansing area most of his life. Mr. Moore retired from General Motors, and was a member of UAW, Local #1618. He was a veteran, serving at the end of WWII in the U.S. Navy. Surviving are: his wife of 54 years, Naoma Ann; sons, David (Gail) Moore of Grand Ledge, and Larry (Linda) Moore of Flushing; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted by The Rev. Richard D. McKenzie, of Immanuel Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A., at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2001, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan in memory of Gordon E. Moore.

Bogle, Katie Hazel (Box)
Lansing, MI

A teller of stories, a maker of quilts

She was born on March 2, 1910 in Gibson County, Tennessee. She retired from Michigan State University in 1977. Friendships and faith revolving around her membership at Immanuel Baptist Church where a great comfort to her. After a recent fall she was rehabilitating and looking forward to “Coming Home”. She was preceded in death by: her husband of 59 years, Raymond D.; son, Stanley G.; and daughter, Billie Gauley. Mrs. Bogle is survived by: son, Joe R. (Phyllis) Bogle; son-in-law, W. Frederick (Marcia) Gauley; loving grandchildren, Raymond G. (Mary), Cynthia (Joseph) Muirhed; Cameron (Kathi) Bogle, Rhonda (Jonathan) Benallack, Kimberle (Kevin) Moffitt and Paul (Misty) Gauley. She also had several great grandchildren: Joshua (Emily) Bogle-Brown, Jessica Bogle, Ryan Bogle, Caitlin Benallack, Noah Benallack, Kyle Moffitt, Keenan Moffitt, Abigail Moffitt and Madison Gauley; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Funeral services will be held at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2002 with Pastor Floyd E. Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in North Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, in her name.

Enustun, Munire

Okemos, MI

Age 87, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2003. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Nejad Enustun last Friday, March 28, 2003. Surviving are: 2 sons, Turgud (Janet) Enustun and Orhan (Lana) Enustun, 1 daughter, Nurhan Enustun; 8 grandchildren, Steve (Holly) Enustun, Scott (Charlena) Enustun, Sara (Michael) Whallon, Stacey Enustun, Jeff (Ingrid) Shiffer, Tamara (Paul) Stiles, Nejad Enustun and Tarik Enustun; and 8 great grandchildren, also surviving is her beloved family friend and caregiver, Fatos Erkuvan. Mrs. Enustun was preceded in death by her brother Seref Karaoglu. Prayer services will be led by Omar Soubani at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at the Islamic Center of East Lansing. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in loving memory of Munire, may be made to the Islamic Center of East Lansing, 920 E. Harrison Road, East Lansing, MI 48823. Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Boice, William Knight

Erie, PA

William Knight Boice, age 88, 218 Connecticut Drive, died Friday, November 16, 2001 at his residence. Born in Lansing on July 17, 1913, the son of J. Arthur and Della Knight Boice. Mr. Boice graduated first in his class from the University of Michigan with a degree in Electrical Engineering. At the same time, he was a Michigan University varsity backstroke swimmer. In 1934 he joined General Electric Co. in Schenectady, NY, where he was an electrical engineer and completed a three-year company course in Advanced Mathematics of Electricity. He also served G.E. as a consulting engineer following retirement. In 1951 he became a Fellow of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and in 1979 he became a Life Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. For several years, he served as Chairman of the Adjustable Speed Drives Committee of the National Electrical Manufacturer's Association, which developed safety standards which were adopted for the U.S.A., the Electric Safety Code. He was the Section Manager of Applications Engineering in the speed Variator Section. After his retirement, he provided information and services to the General Electric Company on a part-time basis as a private engineer. Mr. Boice published many papers and articles over the years, and received an award for the prize paper in 1981 from the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. He also patented many of his inventions while working for G.E. He was a member of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Paul, where he served on the vestry. He also served on the vestry in New Haven, CT when he lived there. He was a member of the Elfun Society, the Y-Men's Group, Sons of the American Revolution, Erie Yacht Club and Lincoln Hills Club in Ludington, MI. He was active in the Republican party and served as a committeeman and ward chairman. Mr. Boice enjoyed swimming, sailing, skiing and ballroom dancing. He and his wife traveled extensively, particularly in France where his wife had relatives. He enjoyed spending summers on Lake Michigan at his cottage with his family at Epworth Heights, MI. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marie Louise Eschbach Boice; a son, Peter Arthur Boice of Erie; two daughters, Judith Boice, of Wayzata, MN, and Cynthia B. Knight Hunt, M.D. and her husband Samuel P. Hunt, of Wellesley, MA; a granddaughter, Christine Hunt, Boston, MA, and a twin brother, Alfred Marion Boice, of Fairgrave, MI. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 602 West 10th Street, Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., and are invited to attend a memorial service at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Paul, 133 West 6th Street, Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Ripple officiating. Additional services will be held in Lansing MI on Wednesday, November 21, 2001 at 11:00 a.m., at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lansing, MI. Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Paul, 133 West 6th Street, Erie, PA 16501, Planned Parenthood, 810 Seventh Ave., New York, NY 10019, or the charity of one's choice.

Klobucher, Mary Helen

Okemos, MI

Mary Helen Klobucher died August 6, 2002, at the age of 94. Mary was born to John and Margaret Ozanich near Calumet, MI, on October 7, 1907. Following her marriage to Charles Klobucher in 1931, she lived in Lansing, MI until she became a resident of the Ingham County Medical Care Facility in Okemos in 1999. Charles preceded her in death on July 17, 1959. She is survived by a daughter, Dolores Ward of Lansing; 2 grandsons, Lance (Cathy) Ward of Lansing and Brian (Laurie) Ward of DeWitt, MI; 5 great grandchildren, Marc Ward, Melissa Ward, Brendan Ward, Zachary Ward, and Dannie Ward; sister, Caroline Kleinsorge of Warren, MI; and 2 nephews, Gary Kleinsorge and Dennis Kleinsorge. Life presented Mary many challenges, but with her strong faith in God and a courageous, positive approach to those challenges, she overcame them and inspired many who knew her because of those qualities. She indeed, fought a good fight, finished her course and kept the faith. Mary will be remembered by many for her cheerful laugh, a wonderful sense of humor, and always a kind and uplifting word of encouragement. We will miss her greatly and keep her in our hearts and minds always. Mary’s family extends a very special thank you to the wonderful staff of caregivers at the Ingham County Medical Care Facility. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2002 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with the Rev. Kathryn DeMougin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ingham County Medical Care Facility, Activity Department, 3860 Dobie Rd., Okemos, MI 48864 in memory of Mary Klobucher.

Peach, Charles William
Grand Ledge (Formerly of Howell)

Age 80, passed away on Tuesday, July 08, 2003. He was born on February 10, 1923 in Howell, to Truman V. and Edna (Brockway) Peach. Mr. Peach retired as a Layout Inspector for Ford Motor Company in 1976. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Grand Ledge. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elsie; sons, C. Douglas (Linda) Peach and Jerry W. (Cindy) Peach; grandchildren, Tammy (Peach) Dick, Steven, Kelly and Katee; brothers, Robert and James Peach; sisters, Betty Schmidt and Marguerite Lieberman. Mr. Peach was preceded in death by his brother, Truman V. Peach Jr. and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Grand Ledge, 4980 Burt Ave. Grand Ledge on Friday, July 11, 2003, with the Pastor Craig Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be given to Christian Record Braille, in memory of Mr. Peach.

Foust, Evelyn M.

Holt, MI

Age 94, passed away on October 20, 2003. She was born on January 3, 1909 in Detroit, the daughter of Charles and Ida Morofsky. Evelyn retired from the State of Michigan and was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending her free time as a volunteer for the Red Cross, Sparrow Hospital, and Martin Luther Memorial Home-Holt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Foust and 2 grandchildren. Surviving are: daughters, Sherill (Gordon) Studt of Lansing, and Sharlene (Robert) Rosewall of Holt; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and several special cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, October 27, 2003 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with the Rev. Rodney R. Schwab officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice of Jackson, to Martin Luther Memorial Home-Holt, or to Emanuel Lutheran Church in memory of Evelyn M. Foust.
