Applebaum, Dale (nee Rozan)

Age 69, passed away on April 29, 2003, in Adrian, Michigan. She was born on December 25, 1933 in Detroit, the daughter of Dr. Josef S. and Dorothy C. (Camin) Rozan. Dale was a girl scout leader, loved bingo, was a very talented photographer and craft maker, but most of all, Dale was a very loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gerry Rozan. Dale is survived by: daughters, Donna and Jon Musolf, Dana and Jim Olger and Diane Applebaum; grandchildren. Aubrey, Kylie, and Carson Musolf, and Adam Olger; sister-in-law, Nancy Rozan; her cherished pets, Blanca and Squirt; and special friends, Vicki Vaughan, Lisa (nee Talbert) and Jeff Clark and family. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2003, at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
Klein, William J.
Lake, Michigan

Age 70, passed away on July 30, 2003. He was born on June 28, 1933 in New Bremem, New York to Henry Joseph and Marline (Alexander) Klein. Mr. Klein was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division and had been employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Lansing, then as owner/operator of Klein Heating & Air Conditioning. He was a member of Lake, MI Aerie #3761 F.O. Eagles, the Lake Rod & Gun Club and the 82nd Airborne Division Association. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, William J. Klein, II. Surviving are: children, Denise (Robert) Dutter, John “Hank” (Lorie) Klein, Andrea (Jeff) Yancho, Deanna Moore and David Klein; grandchildren, Michelle (Derek DeFord) Klein, Kristopher Klein, Elijah Moore and Charles Yancho; sister, Mary Maples; brother, John (Mary Alice) Klein; nieces and nephews, John Klein, Cathy (Steve) Corey and Susan Klein; and dear friend, Rosie Atasenko. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2003 at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 815 Sparrow Avenue, Lansing, with Fr. Bill Lugger as celebrant. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of William J. Klein.

Was born on October 6, 1939 in Lansing and went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2004 at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Dryer; step-father, Altis Smith; and granddaughter, Jennifer Cotterman. Surviving are: mother, Evelyn Yax Smith; 4 sons, Gary Dryer, Stacey (Terrie) Dryer, Aaron Dryer, and Jeremy (Mandy) Dryer; 5 daughters, Melody (Dennis) Cotterman, Cynthia (Chris) Sweeley, Michelle (Scott) Gilhouse, Marcia Dryer, and Denalda (Joe) Maisano; 15 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Marvin Dryer and Duane (Karen) Smith; 3 sisters, Darlene Smith (Wayne) Verhelle, Bonnie Smith (Don) Raum, and Phyllis Dryer Crooks. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 2, 2004 at Bell Oak Cemetery, Webberville, MI. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2004 at Faith Tabernacle Church, 921 W. Mt. Hope Ave., Lansing. Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
Moore, Harry Duane
Holt, MI
Born in Gratiot County, MI on February 27, 1925, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2002 at the age of 77. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Force, 445th fighter squadron, the first jet propelled outfit in the U.S. He was a life member of the Mason Lodge #150, F.&A.M., attending for 50 years, being awarded Mason of the Year in 1997 by the former Lodge #572. Mr. Moore was founder and first president of Retirees Local #1618, U.A.W. He played harmonicas, and was proud of this 1929 Model A Ford which he restored. He coached little league baseball in the 1950’s era, winning the Y championship in 1957. Mr. Moore worked with the Golden Gloves for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved being outdoors whenever possible. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elna. He is also survived by: his daughter, Peggy Hadwin of Holt; sons, Donald (Karen) Moore of Manistee and William (Mary) Moore of Arizona; daughter-in-law, Rachel Moore of Standish; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother, Alvah J. Moore of Holt; and childhood friend, Harold "Jack" Fountain of Lansing. He was preceded in death by son, John Moore; son-in-law, Gary Hadwin; brothers, Melvin and Elwin; and sister, Helen Smythe. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, with the Rev. Donald H. Thomson, pastor emeritus of First Presbyterian Church of Holt, officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Foundation in memory of Harry Duane Moore.

Rose Klein, 85, of Ithaca, died on Saturday, October 18, 2003. A "Remembering Rose" ceremony will be held at Wednesday, October, 29, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ithaca Senior Activity Center. Coffee and cake will be served following the ceremony.
Angel, Philip

Philip Angel died Saturday, September 14, 2002 at the age of 73. He was born the son of Hyman and Gladys (Green) Angel on July 14, 1929 in London, England. He retired from Montgomery Ward where he had worked as a manager of store planning and displays. Mr. Angel was a member of both, the Clearwater, FL. and East Lansing Stamp Clubs as well as a former member of Kiwanis. He enjoyed traveling and also giving presentations on his travels. He was an avid reader of history and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. Surviving is wife Cecelia; 1 son, Martin (Robin) Tremblay of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Allison Tremblay; sister-in-law, Gloria (Gary) Hall of N.J.; brother-in-law, Kermit Coon of Traverse City along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 16, from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions, in loving memory of Philip, may be made to the American Heart Association.
Dlugozima, Michael

Passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at the age of 47. Michael received his Bachelor’s Degree from M.S.U. in 1999 and was proud to have earned it. He was employed by Ingham County for many years, and was an avid golfer and sports fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and the woman whom he referred to as “mom”, Evelyn Beers. Surviving are: wife, Sharyl Ann Dlugozima; 2 step-sons, Andrew and Timothy Rambo; and special family friend, David Beers, whom he referred to as “Dad”, and his family. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2004 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Sancta-Maria in memory of Michael Dlugozima.
Andros, Jane E.
Lansing, MI
Born on May 19, 1918 in Lansing, the daughter of Alex and Elizabeth (Maier) Andros, passed away on July 12, 2004 at the age of 86. Jane graduated from Lansing Central High School in 1936 and received a BA Degree with a Social Work major from Michigan State University in 1940. She was employed by the St. Clair County Bureau of Social Aid, Civil Service Case Worker for the Old Age Assistance, Aid to Dependent Children and Aid to the Blind Program. Jane then went to the Ingham County Bureau of Social Aid, Civil Case Worker. She went on to work with all types of public and private related agencies, board members and community resources. From 1951 to 1971, Jane, like her father who owned and operated the Sugar Bowl, owned and operated Andros Candies in downtown Lansing. Andros Candies manufactured a complete line of candies and retailed specialty gift items. She had worked in various candy plants as an apprentice and attended Iridor School of Candy Making in New York in preparation for owning her candy business. Jane was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority and was a life long member of First Presbyterian Church of Lansing. She was preceded in death by her brother, George A. Andros. Surviving are: sisters; Athenia Rogers, 92, of Fayetteville, NY, Marian Andros, 90, of Lansing, and Elaine Petersen, 83, of Trenton; sister-in-law, Betsy W. Andros of Lansing; 7 nieces and nephews; 15 great nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Elizabeth “Betty” Corbishley. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2004 at Deepdale Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Anthony A. Patrick and Chaplain Stephen Ezop officiating. A memorial service will also be held later this summer in Bay View, Michigan. Memorial contributions may made to Heartland Hospice of Mason, the First Presbyterian Church of Lansing, or the Bay View Association, in memory of Jane E. Andros.
