Lotridge, Frederick J.

Age 79. He was born 19 December, 1922 to Fred and Emma Lotridge in Rush Twp., Shiawassee Co. He was called to his Heavenly home on 14 November, 2002. Beloved husband and father, Mr. Lotridge was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Krystn (James) Palmer; two step-sons, John (Diane) Fenby, Jr.; and Daniel (Beverly) Fenby; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and his sister, Alona Pennell. During WWII he served with the Corps of Engineers in the Pacific Theater. He has been a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1963 and held several offices on the Church Council. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2002 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4001 S. Pennsylvania Ave., with Pastor Michael C. Bater officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Rosher, Marlen G.
Holt, MI
Age 82, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2002. Mr. Rosher was a lifetime member of the Masons, and proud veteran of WWII, and also a member of the Ingham County Sheriff Riding Posse. Marlen enjoyed raising horses, and was an avid sportsman, he always looked forward to hunting trips when he was able to make time. Mr. Rosher is survived by a loving wife of 55 years: Bonnie, one daughter: Candy (Rodney) Clark of Holt, four grandchildren: Faran, Cameron, Janelle and Trevor, 5 brothers: Leland, Thomas, Roderick, Ronald and Galen, one sister: Charletta, along with several nieces and nephews. There was a memorial service on Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at 2:30 p.m., at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Grimes officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holt United Methodist Church, or the American Cancer Society.

Age 98, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2001. She was born April 30, 1903 the daughter of Andrew and Katherine Divo. Martha married John Roy Miller on May 21, 1932 and he preceded her in death, along with 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Martha is survived by a daughter; Arlene Bergemann of Lansing and a son, Ronald (Bonnie) Miller of Elkton; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. A Funeral Service will be conducted by The Rev. Dr. Kenneth W. Bensen at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2001 at Faith United Methodist Church; 4301 S. Waverly Rd. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Elkton on Monday. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church.
Williams, Bertha F.

Age 98, passed away on June 23, 2003. She was born on November 15, 1904, the daughter of Oscar and Carrie (Simonson) Forsberg. Bertha was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and was a secretary to the Director of the U.S. Soil Conservation Service. She was preceded in death by: husband, Rupert in 1955 and daughter, Suzanne in 1999. Bertha is survived by: son-in-law, Fred Guetschow of Frankfort; grandchildren, Rick (Jill) Guetschow of Bath and Carrie (John) Bryant of Clarkston; great grandchildren, Jack, Zoe, Elizabeth and Alec; nephews, Werner (Nancy) Forsberg and Michael (Carol) Forsberg. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2003 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with the Rev. Sally J. Nolan officiating. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Anderson, Frances B.

Age 88, passed away on July 2, 2003. She was born on February 2, 1915 in Detroit. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert W. Remez, and her second husband, Kenneth E. Anderson. Surviving are: her children, Sherry and Janet Remez, and Kenneth and Brenda Anderson, as well as 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, July 4, 2003, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, with Rabbi Morton Hoffman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Breslin Cancer Center in memory of Frances B. Anderson.

Born on May 19, 1930 in Smith County, MS, passed away on November 5, 2004 at the age of 74. He resided in Lansing from 1953 until the time of his death. Mr. Easterling was a Christian and was employed for 25 years at Industrial Welding. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Leonard and Cleo Easterling; 2 brothers, Paul and Alvin Easterling; and sister, Imogene Portnoy. Surviving are: his wife of 41 years, Mary; brother, Jimmy (Marjorie) Easterling of Flint; sister, Kathleen (Harold) Lambeth of Alma; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2004 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with Mr. Jerome Frandle and Mr. Darren Briggs officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Age 88, passed away on May 11, 2003. He was born on August 30, 1914 in Dansville, MI, the son of Hubert Earl and Emma (Bateman) Miller. Max farmed in Grand Ledge while raising his family and working 33 years at Fisher Body. He retired in 1972 to enjoy his hobbies of gardening and bowling. He was a member of the Church of Resurrection. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dean; and sister, Arlene. Max is survived by: Lillian, his wife of 67 years, and children, Warren (Bonnie) Miller of Lansing, Wayne (Judy) Miller of Brutus, Neil Miller and Marsha Cosgrove, both of Grand Ledge, and Mark Miller of Haslett; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at the Church of the Resurrection, 1505 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, with the Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Robideau as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Resurrection or Heartland Hospice and Home Care in memory of Max.

Departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 12, 2005. She attended Lansing Public Schools. Mavis retired from the State of Michigan in 2001, she was an avid flower gardener. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton, and brothers, Jimmy and Leroy Nelson. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Espanola Faye (Tony) Robertson; mother, Ora Hayes; sister, Phyllis Brown; brothers, Ted Walker and Melvin (Shirley) Walker, all of Lansing; 3 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Friends forever, Lorna, Edna, Plook, and Ida. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Mount Hope Assembly of God with Minister Diane Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends ˝ hour prior to the service. Friends may visit Mavis on Monday January 17, 2005 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Pentecost, Elizabeth (Betsy) (nee Jones)

A lifelong resident of East Lansing, born on February 12, 1933, she passed away on December 27, 2002 surrounded by her family. She had courageously fought cancer for nearly a year, when her loving heart gave out. She attended MSU, receiving her B.A., and later an M.S.W. degree, which she completed with her eldest child, Charles, who passed away in 1995. Betsy was an avid tennis player and loved travel, gardening and flowers, becoming an accredited flower show judge. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ronald; four children, the late Charles (Molly), Joan Vestrand, John (Susan), Edward (Patricia); her sister, Alice Mesaros (Michael), and was the daughter of Mary Jones and the late Nelson Jones. She had 10 cherished grandchildren. A celebration of Betsy's life will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church; 800 Abbott Rd, East Lansing, on Friday, January 3, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with The Very Rev. Caroline Stacey officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may make a contribution in her name to the American Cancer Society. We lost a great, kind and loving lady who never ever had an unkind word for anyone. She will be remembered and missed each and every day. We love you, Dear.
