Flores, Dolores Eufemia “Lolie”

Age 63, went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2003. Dolores was born on January 28, 1940 in Lansing, the daughter of the late John and Maria Flores. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Trenida Garcia and Senaida Villarreal. Dolores is survived by 3 sisters, Emma Flores-Soria, Josephine Flores and Carmen Flores-Benevides; 2 brothers, Paul (Virginia) Flores and John (Dolores) Flores; 2 brothers-in-law, Ernest Garcia and Dionicio Villarreal, as well as many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Salvadore and Teresa Alvarado. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2003 at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 815 Sparrow Ave., Lansing, MI, with Fr. Bill Lugger as Celebrant. Interment will follow in East Lawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lansing, Inc. or to Beekman Center in memory of Dolores Flores.

Age 54, passed away on June 11, 2002. He was born on July 22, 1947 in Lansing, MI, the son of Paul A. and Ruth M. (Thompson) Bostrom. He is survived by: his wife of 35 years, Barbara; 3 children, Paul (Melina) of Columbia, SC, Danielle (Dannie) Williams of Greenville, SC and Jamie (Kathryn) of Columbia, SC; 4 grandchildren, Zachary and Nicholas Williams and Addie and Victoria Bostrom; mother, Ruth Bostrom of Holt; brother, Robert (Nancy) of Athens, GA; sister, Linnea (Richard) Pickworth of Mason; nieces and nephews, Todd, Brier, B.J., Tyler, Theresa, Sherry, Ginny, Laura, Ross, Ryan, Jessica, Jason; sisters-in-laws, Beverly (Rick) VanHouten of Mason, Betty (David) Hawkins of Mason and Peg (Ralph) Goodrich of Owosso; mother-in-law, Virginia Brenner of Lansing; and father-in-law, Victor (Nancy) Brenner of Huntington Beach, CA. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 15, 2002 at the Holt United Methodist Chuch with the Rev. Lynn Grimes officiating. Age 84, passed away on August 14, 2002. She was born on March 19, 1918 in Lansing, the daughter of Emil A. and Lydia (Wuggazer) Wendt. She was a lifetime member of Emmanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church and worked as a bookkeeper for Nehi Beverage Company. She was preceded in death by brother, Harold H. Wendt. She is survived by: brother, Marvin A. Wendt of Anaheim, CA; nephews, Marvin Wendt, Jr. of Santa Ana, CA, John Wendt of Anaheim, CA and Paul A. Wendt, Jr. of Evans, GA; niece, Marcia Guess of Beverly, MA; and great niece, Donna Leigh Wendt. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, August 19, 2002 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with the Rev. Paul J. Lindloff of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. Age 87, passed away on her birthday, Sept. 7, 2003. She born in Delphos, Ohio Sept. 7, 1916. She was a former member of Central United Methodist Church; a Life Member and Past Worthy Matron of Arbutus Chapter #45 O.E.S.; a member of the Old Newsboy’s Assoc.; and a volunteer for Ingham Regional Medical Center and the Sparrow Health System. She retired from the State of Michigan in 1983 after 23 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert D. Ricketts in 1984. Surviving are: Son, Robert A. Ricketts of Tampa, FL; 2 Granddaughters, Barbara Ricketts of Lansing and Robin (Joe) Kuhn of Holt; 4 Great Grandchildren, Brandon Cooper, Tailor Kuhn, Twins Madison and Mackenzie Kuhn; former Daughter-in-Law, Wanda Morrison of Lansing; and loving neighbors and friends. A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2003 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Chapel, with Pastor Bob Carpenter of Cedar Street Baptist Church officiating. There will be no funeral home visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Crippled Children. Arrangements by Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Age 97, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2004. Marion was born on November 18, 1906 in Lansing, the daughter of Herman and Emma (Siegrist) Koehler. She was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Surviving are: daughter, Ellen (Robert) Banner; grandchildren, Steven (Patricia) Banner and Barbara (Joseph) Schuh; 6 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marge Koehler; and niece, Nancy Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Boughton earlier this year. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Ingham County Medical Care Facility. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2004 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Mort of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Delta Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Age 95, passed away on March 1, 2004. He was born on April 30, 1908 in Lansing, the son of Samuel W. and Edith L. (Myers) Boughton. Mr. Boughton retired from Oldsmobile after 46+ years of service and volunteered for Sparrow Escort Service until the age of 90. He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was an avid bowler and golfer. Surviving are: his wife of 68 years, Marian; daughter, Ellen (Robert) Banner; grandchildren, Steven (Patricia) Banner and Barbara (Joseph) Schuh; 6 great grandchildren; and niece, Nancy Smith. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2004 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Simmons of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Delta Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Age 81, passed away on December 23, 2004. She was born on October 26, 1923 in Lansing, and lived in Lansing all her life. Ms. Bowers was employed at Michigan State University for many years, retiring from the MSU Department of Public Safety in 1984. Surviving are: her husband, E.J. Bowers; daughter, Jackie Schraft; 3 sons, John Bowers, Jim (Vicki) Bowers and Jeff (Patricia) Bowers; 5 grandchildren, Nancy Totten, Derek (Mary) Schraft, Brent, Lauren and Brian Bowers; 5 great grandchildren, Trevor and Tanner Rose, Nathan, Rachel and Kevin Schraft; 2 sisters, Margaret (Duane) Dunn and Loretta VanCamp. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2004, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with Rev. Barbara Flory of Sycamore Creek Church officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. Sunday. Age 58, died January 16, 2004 following his 3rd courageous bout with cancer. Bill was born on August 7, 1945 in Jackson, MI, the son of Bion and Naomi Bowers. Loving and caring kissey kissey smoochie smoochie husband, father, grandfather, Outlaw and friend to all he knew. Bill began his life as a “builder” “Working for my Dad since the age of 5 – The best Custom Home Builder in Jackson! Bill was a graduate of Northwest High School, Jackson, MI. He obtained a BA Degree with a major in Accounting from Michigan State University. Bill had a much diversified career over his lifetime, in addition to building custom built homes with “Dad”, his construction work included major commercial buildings with the Carpenters Union, as well as working for the DNR as the Building Trades Supervisor. Bill was the Vice President of Engineering and Human resources for Peckham Industries and finished his business career at the State of Michigan, Student Loan Authority at the State Treasury Department. He was a notable hunter, in that he did so much to protect the population. Bill – 0, Deer – 25. Bill was the Co-Chairman of the Delhi Township Neighborhood Association specializing in addressing suburban sprawl and inappropriate commercial development (Big Box Stores). Bill conducted his life as a friend to all graciously befriending, as well as helping any in his life. Particularly with computers, affectionately known as “WildBillVirus”, making his own and others AND anything made with wood “Find Wood! Not Pine!” He is preceded in death by his Father, Bion and Mother, Naomi and survived by his wife, Marsha, his daughters, Lara Kalidyn and Teresa Moxon. Grandchildren, Rachel and Aaron Kalidyn, Zachary and Sarah Gibson, his brother, Charles and sister, Mary Bowers. Funeral services will be held at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 N. Cedar Street, Holt, MI on Monday, January 19, 2004, Visitation at 12:00 p.m., Services at 1:00 p.m.
