Born on February 28, 1952 in Flint, passed away on March 7, 2005 at the age of 53. Deborah worked at Community Mental Health for over 20 years. She was a member of the Davison OES Chapter #299 and was very involved with JOB’S Daughters Lansing/Okemos Bethel #50. Surviving are: her parents, Richard and Marion (Walter) Couture of Hale, MI; children, Nicole, Nicholas, and Matthew Brady, all of Holt; grandchildren, Jaycen Andrews and Korine Church-Brady; brothers, Randall (Carol) Couture and Gerald (Violet) Couture; sister, Rebecca (Rick) Sad; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2005 at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel with Pastor Wesley B. Emerson officiating. Interment will follow in Ortonville Cemetery, Ortonville, MI. The family will receive friends from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Deborah K. Brady.
Dennison, Erna E.

Age 83, passed away on December 11, 2004. She was born on July 6, 1921 in Lansing to Ernest and Alice (Venzke) Seling. She was retired from the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, L. Avery Dennison and brother, Arnold Seling. Surviving are daughters, Diane (Jeffrey) Hicks of Westphalia, and Dawn (Dean) Morris of Cadillac; grandchildren, Anthony (Heather Barber) Hicks of Lansing, Christian Hicks of Westphalia, Jennifer (Dennis Ciacelli) Stanley of Lake City, Leanne Morris and Matthew Morris of Cadillac; great-grandchildren; Dennis Ciacelli, Michael Ciacelli and Brandon Ciacelli of Lake City; brother Ted (Gwen) Seling of Ann Arbor, sister-in-law, Marilynn Seling, Defiance Ohio and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 549 E. Mt. Hope, Lansing with The Rev. James R. Lichtenberger and The Rev. Wayne J. Knockel officiating. Internment will follow at Deepdale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2004. Contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the American Heart Association.

Age 64, passed away on February 4, 2003 in Tucson, AZ. Born on July 18, 1938 in New York, NY, he was an 8 year resident of Sun City Vistoso, Oro Valley, AZ, and had previously lived in West Bloomfield, MI. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Evelyn; children, Jeffrey B. (Leanne), Debra L. (Tim) Guenther; stepdaughter, Marcia (Tom) Greco; grandchildren, Jessica & Daria Richards, Hannah & Joshua Guenther, Sara & Nicholas Greco; mother, Florence Friedman; and his brother, Charles E. (Susan) Richards; nieces & nephews. Bob was a retired Ford Motor Co. executive, and a graduate of General Motors Institute with an MBA from Michigan State University. Bob loved travel, golf and family. He had a wonderful wry sense of humor despite having to fight the effects of a major brain hemorrhage in 1992. He had infinite grace & courage. Bob is remembered with love. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. at Congregation Shaarey Zedek, 1924 Coolidge Rd, East Lansing, MI. Internment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing, MI. A memorial service will be held at Sun City Vistoso at a future date. Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Age 65, passed away suddenly on September 9, 2003. She was the owner of “The Scent of Pink” and her beauty on earth was far too short. Her devotion and love for her family will forever live on in her legacy and in our hearts. Her gracious beauty and talent will be missed greatly by so many. Ruby was preceded in death by: father, Dan Horsley; mother, Hester McDade; sister-in-law, LeAnn Horsley; and nephew, Daniel Horsley. Surviving are: her loving and devoted husband of 18 years, Clifford Brasseur of Mason; her children who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly: Teri L. Andring, Karan A. Gleason, James Todd (Cynthia) Gleason and Amy B. (Kevin) Folleth, all of Lansing. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, whom she adored: Anthony (Fiancee`) Kelly Skidmore, Dallas, Brittany, Michael, Hunter and Ashley; Kelsey, Tyler, James and Dallas; step-father, Victor McDade; 2 brothers, Harold M. Horsley and Danny (Patti) Horsley; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2003 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Brauer, Stanley W. "Moose"

Age 79, passed away Dec. 7, 2002. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI on July 15, 1923 and has lived in Lansing for most of his life. He was a 1942 graduate of Lansing Eastern High School and a 1949 graduate of Michigan State University where he participated in football. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church; a Veteran of W. W. II, serving in the U.S. Air Force in the Pacific Theater with the 475th Fighter Group; and was a member of Lansing Lodge #33 F.&.A.M. He was a Past President of the Table Toppers, the Lansing Restaurant Association and the Michigan Restaurant Association. He was the proud owner of the successful Brauer’s 1861 House for 28 years, as well as a real estate broker. The 1861 House restaurant, a Lansing mainstay, gave him the opportunity to make a wonderful living for his family and making lifelong friendships while doing something he loved. Stan has been the recipient of the prestigious Alumnus of the Year award from the School of Hotel, Restaurant and International Management and served as president of the MSU Alumni Association and the School of HRI’s Alumni Association. He was also a member of the Ralph Young Fund as an Honorary Coach. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Blanche; Son, Max Thomas Brauer of Lansing, who gave his father great joy as a good son; a Son, John Warren Brauer preceded him in death in 2001; 2 Grandchildren, Mari Jonelle and Hunter Thomas who along with their mother Marilyn referred to him affectionately as “Popka”. Marilyn also helped care for him with all her love. Also surviving are; Brother-in-law, Thomas (Donna) MacDonald of Harbor Springs and their son, Todd (Catherine) MacDonald of San Diego; Sister, Marie Denning of Lansing; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002 in the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with the The Rev. Dr. Gordon Weller of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church officiating. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Mari and Hunter’s Education Fund.

Russell L. Shulnburg, 59, of Lansing, died on October 31, 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances Shulnburg and is survived by daughter, Laura Anne Dickerson; sister, Bonnie B. Shulnburg; 2 aunts, 1 uncle and cousins. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 1519 Elmwood Rd., Lansing with the Rev. David R. Pike officiating. Swerdfeger, Roy G.

Age 64, passed away on April 11, 2003 in Little Rock, AR. He was born on March 23, 1939 in Buffalo, NY. He was a retired police officer for 23 years; a member of the Haslett Post #269 American Legion; worked for the Haslett Schools, video taped various sporting events for Haslett High School. He was a volunteer coach for many women’s soccer and basketball teams; a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church, serving as Treasurer, Deacon, and Sunday school teacher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bethany in 1997. Surviving are: daughter, Kelli Swerdfeger; brother, Byron Swerdfeger of San Francisco, CA; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Beverly) Hill of Midland, MI, and Timothy (Diane) Hill of San Antonio, TX; nephews, Jonathon and Jackson Hill; nieces, Jennifer (Jamie) Craig and Jamie Hill and great niece, Haylee Craig. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1315 Abbott Road, East Lansing. A luncheon will follow at the church. Inurnment will be in Eastminster Memorial Garden. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haslett Public Schools, to help in funding for the Women’s Athletic Programs.
Bungart, Cheryl A.

Age 38, passed away on December 14, 2001. She was born on August 23, 1963 in San Diego, and has lived in the Holt area most of her life. Ms. Bungart graduated as valedictorian of the Perry High School, class of '81, as well as graduating from M.S.U. with a business degree. She has been employed at the State of Michigan for 16 years, working most of this time in the Auditor General's Office. She loved singing with the church choir, playing the piano, ice-skating, and most of all, spending time with her son. Surviving are: her son, Jeffrey Reisner, his father, Robert Reisner; mother, Linda (Jack) Herriman of Burton; father, James (Linda) Bungart of Holt; brothers, James (Tammy) of Byron and Scott of Holt; ½ brother, Albert Bungart of Holt; ½ sister, Lana Bungart of Holt; step brothers, Timothy (Janice) Herriman of Flint and Jack Herriman of Mobile, AL; grandmothers, Eleanore Bungart of Warren and Ethel Phillips of Fenton, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Alan J. Wakefield, at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2001, at St. James Catholic Church, 1010 S. Lansing Rd, Mason. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, for the benefit of her son, Jeffrey.
