Age 63, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2001. She was born November 7, 1937 the daughter of Walter and Catherine (Parish) Snyder in Lansing, and was a lifelong Lansing resident until moving to Six Lakes and Bradenton, FL. She is survived by husband of 42 years, David; sons, Gordon (Kitty) of Lansing, Darryl (Kim) of Lansing, Garett (Christine) of Laingsburg, and Duane (Melissa) of Lansing; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; sister Donna (Ray) Mancevich of Lake City. Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister, she will be dearly missed. The family received family and friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., on Wednesday, October 17, 2001. A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 18, 2001 at 1:00 p.m., at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with internment in Glendale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Brooks, Larry F.

Larry “L.B.” Brooks went to his richly deserved reward Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005 at the age of 64. A man whose loving nature and kindness was equaled by unlimited courage. Larry is survived by his Lovely Bride of 38 years Lois Ellen (Granstrom); son Michael and wife Jennifer (Dubes); his beloved grandson, Richard John Brooks; brother Charles and wife Emma; sister Jacquelyn and husband Tom Fitzgerald; as well as 3 nephews and a niece and their spouses. Larry graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1958 where he distinguished himself as an All State Linebacker, and attended the University of Wyoming on a football scholarship. Larry worked for several auto dealerships as a salesman, and later established L & M Auto Sales where he enjoyed his career until illness forced his retirement. Funeral services will be held in the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, with The Rev. Richard Rogers of Bethany Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. Saturday and from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to the American Diabetes Association. Stonebrook, Kendal B.

Age 58, passed away on February 5, 2002. He was born on January 10, 1944 in Alma, MI and has lived in Lansing most of his life. Mr. Stonebrook was currently employed at the Capital Area Career Center for the Ingham Intermediate School District for over 20 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for over 35 years, and held many callings within the church. Surviving are: his wife of 34 years, Ann; children, Melanie (Mark) Steadman and Ian Stonebrook; sister, Sharon S. Wheeler, formerly of St. Johns, currently of Lincoln City, OR; niece, Stacie (Joey) Duff; and nephew, Richard Wheeler, II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clare B. and Dorothy Lucille Stonebrook. A funeral service was held at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, February 9, 2002, at the Church of Latter Days Saints, 431 E. Saginaw St, in East Lansing, with Bishop Jerry Sumerex officiating. The family received friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 6-8 p.m., on Friday, February 8, 2002. Memorial contributions may be made to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Lansing, in Kendal's memory.
Greene, Dorothy L.
East Lansing, MI
Age 74, passed away on August 22, 2001. She was born on September 23, 1926 in Winfield, Iowa to Harvey and Mildred Greene. She was a member of Fellowship for Today of East Lansing. Dorothy was always kind to everyone. She was a teacher and counselor for many years. She was a wonderful, sweet, gentle person and loved spending time with her family. She and her siblings had a lot of fun growing up together. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Charles R. Greene. Surviving are sister Martha J. Schillace of Illinois; brother Fred R. Greene of North Carolina; two nieces Linda Schillace and Rosalie (Gary) Strickel, all of Illinois; nephew Jim (Adrina) Schillace of Nebraska; great nieces Adrina Schillace and Natalie Strickel both of Illinois; Jeanette Skoglund of Michigan and great nephew Jeff Strickel of Illinois. A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 25, 2001 at 4 p.m. at the Estes Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Age 31, passed away on May 8, 2002. He was born on February 6, 1971 in Fremont, MI. Chad is survived by: his wife, Stephanie Brookhouse; daughter, Hannah Kempf; parents, Nicholas Brookhouse and Donna (Harry) Stroven; brother, Jason (Kristin) Brookhouse; sister, Amber Brookhouse; grandmother, Lois Brookhouse; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and MaryAnn Nemshak; sister-in-law, Michelle Nemshak; niece and nephew, Taylor and Logan Brookhouse; special friends, Garland and Mary Vertregt and Chris Stefanko; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Chad was preceded in death by: his grandfather, Jay Brookhouse; and grandparents, Carl and Hermina Foster. Chad will be remembered for his great love of fishing and hunting. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2002 at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel with The Rev. Fr. Alan J. Wakefield officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., on Saturday, May 11, 2002 at the funeral home. Daggy, Iva Catherine

Our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 22, 2004. She was born in Remus, Michigan on January 5, 1911, a daughter of Alvin and Gertrude (Godbold) Esch. She was owner and operator of Daggy Upholstering for 47 years and also worked for the Tri-County Office on Aging for several years. Iva was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #3727 and served at every position level including president at the Local, County Council, District and State levels. She served as State President from 1969-1970. She was also a member of the Military Order of the Cootie Women’s Auxiliary for many years and served as treasurer and was a member of the Lansing Safety Council for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Daggy in 1971; 2 sisters, Donna and Eloise; and 2 brothers, Dalton and James. Surviving are her children, Patricia (Doug) Cook and Thomas (Phyllis) Daggy; 8 grandchildren, Kevin Cook, Mark Cook, Coreena Spitzley, Denise Cook, Chris Daggy, Catherine Spedoske, Suzette Bobrofsky and Chad Daggy. She has 17 great grandchildren, Bryce, Nicole D., Anna, Michael, Brandon, Steven, Paul, Casey, Alexis, Samantha, Payton, Dakota, Nicole C., Victoria, Aaron, Jacob and Kayla; sisters, Mildred Blakely, Dorothy Rhode, and Alma Lenon; brothers, Gale Esch and Clare Esch; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2004 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Eriksen, Arlene L. (Jewett)

Age 87, passed away Feb. 3, 2003. She was born in Quincy, MI on Aug. 30, 1915. She was retired from Beurmann-Marshall Co., and was an avid MSU Spartan supporter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sigurd in 1982; parents, Emery and Doris Jewett; step-mother, Lena; brother, Rex Jewett; and grandson, Erik Eriksen. Surviving are: 2 Sons, Sigurd (Carol) Eriksen of Montague, CA., Roger J. (Harla) Eriksen of Houghton Lake; 5 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003 in the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, with Richard Preston, Chaplain of Hospice of Lansing officiating. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lansing, Inc.
Brody, Carol M.
East Lansing, MI
Born August 18, 1912. Died March 22, 2004. A lifelong resident of the Lansing area, Carol was a devoted mother and loving friend. In her long career with Michigan State University, she served as secretary to President John A. Hannah and Dr. Janet Wessel in the Women’s Physical Education Department. She also lived for many years in Midland, Michigan, where she worked in the library of Northwood Institute. She retired at the age of 88 from the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Her volunteer service included Junior Division Auxiliary of Sparrow Hospital. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Dr. W. Victor Bielinski of Muskegon, her brother, James Brody, and two sisters, Beatrice Larsen and Viola Brody. She is survived by her brother, Clark Brody of Evanston, IL and Marjorie Michael of College Station, TX, two daughters, Karen (Rick) Gringhuis of Chicago and Dr. Janina Latack of Tucson, AZ; and grandson, Andrew Latack of Tucson and Ann Arbor. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Independence Village, 2530 Marfitt Road, East Lansing.
