She was active in Girl Scouts and later a Brownie leader. Diana attended First Presbyterian Church, went on mission trips and enjoyed Choir and Youth Fellowship. While active in the Lansing Chapter of Rainbow Girls, Diana earned the group’s highest honor by becoming “Worthy Advisor” in 1977. After graduating from J. W. Bill and Jean put their life on hold to give Diana the best care and she lived 20 years with this incurable disease. Even while living with the slow, deteriorating illness, Diana loved to shop and make sure her mom, dad and brothers all had stylish clothes on their birthdays and holidays. She also loved to spoil her nieces and nephews with enough candy to make any dentist smile. All the while, she kept her mind sharp enjoying lots of time with books as she did as a youth. The birds, squirrels and raccoons will surely miss Diana’s generosity as well-providing a wide assortment of nuts, left-overs, fresh water and the plates of marshmallows.
