Age 82, passed away on June 26, 2003 in Montana. She was born on June 19, 1921 in Vermontville, the daughter of Mary and Arnold Simmons. She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Holt, and was an avid bowler. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Hartley, and a sister, Beulah. Surviving are: 2 children, Elaine (Scott) Myhre of Seeley Lake, MT, and David (Rolayne) Jackson of Crystal Falls, MI; 2 brothers, Richard Simmons of Lansing and Robert (Donna) Simmons of Florida; 3 grandchildren, Dana Jackson of Holt, Derek Webb of Colorado and Nathan Webb of Michigan; great grandson, Lukas Jackson of Holt; sister-in-law, Eleanor Linsea of Holt, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at the First Presbyterian Church of Holt, 2021 N. Aurelius Rd., with The Rev. Dr. Bruce A. Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in memory of Marion Jackson.
Hubble, Mary J.
Perry, MI
Age 57
On July 21, 2002 Mary Hubble joined our Lord and Savior. Our forever loved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend was a member of the Perry Congregational Church and was firm in her faith in the Lord. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Steve Hubble; 2 children, Bob (Roxanne) Hubble and Sheri (Tony) Curkovic and her much loved grandson, Maximus Liam Curkovic along with 2 brothers, Albert and Robert Sodman. She also leaves behind exceptional and dear friends Kathy and Dave Archambeau, Dave and Carol Lowery, and Vicki and Joe Schiebner. Mary was my life mate, my soul mate, my best friend, and completed myself as a person (Love always! Steve). Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Jennifer Bixby at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Plain Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from Noon until the time of service. Memorial contributions, in loving memory of Mary, may be made to Compassion International. Horsley, Wanda LeAnn
Onondaga, MI.
Age 59, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 30, 2003. She was born September 6, 1943 in Lansing, MI. the daughter of Donald F. and Wanda D. (Taft) Lincoln. Wanda was a member of Capital City Church of God, was a faithful and dedicated wife, and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Harold Horsley of Onondaga; son, Tad (Denise) Horsley of Lansing; daughter, Pamela (David) Baldwin of Houston, TX.; daughter, Julie (Butch) Zannini of Eaton Rapids: 12 grandchildren; Lisa, Anthony, Crystal, Paige, Eric, James, David, Nathaniel, Terry, Amber, David and Alexandra; great grandson, Kolton Zayne along with 4 brothers; Larry Lincoln, Robby (Brenda) Juhas, Randy Juhas, and Don Lincoln, 2 sisters; Judy (David) Nickols and Marsha Guthrie along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Also surviving is Wanda’s father-in-law, Victor McDade, her sister-in-law, Ruby (Cliff) Brasseaur and her brother-in-law, Daniel (Pat) Horsley. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Connie Clark. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Danny Stoneham of Capital City Church of God at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. Interment will follow at Deepdale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 2, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Holmes, Shirley A. (Pfiester)
Pinellas Park, FL, formerly of Lansing
The LORD called Shirley home on January 18, 2003. She was born on January 3, 1932 in Eaton Rapids, the daughter of Myrta & Max Pfiester, the youngest of 10 children. Shirley graduated from Mason High School in 1950 and was employed with the Michigan State Police more than 20 years. She also attended the Lansing Bible Institute, and Bryan College, Dayton, TN. She retired from Bryan College in 1990 after more than 20 years of service. She worked with her husband in the travel business for over 20 years hosting tours around the world. Shirley is a member of the First Baptist Church, Spring City, TN, where she was a Sunday School teacher and played and sang with the Inspiring Sounds Quartet, as well as the ladies quartet. She attended the Starkey Road Baptist Church, Seminole, FL and the Calvary Bible Church, Chattanooga, TN for the last several years. Surviving are: her husband of over 51 years, Raymond Earl Holmes; brother, Kenneth (Marian) Pfiester of Williamston (and Lakeland, FL); sister, Arlene Eifert of Mason; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dr. Jimmy & Glenna Tutor of Spring City, TN and Dr. Sithipol & Sandy Tantihachai of Dayton, TN. A funeral service will be held at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel of Friday, January 24, at 12:00 noon, with interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideon’s Fund in memory of Shirley A. Holmes.
Malatinsky, Stephen
Lansing, MI
Age 94, passed away on June 2, 2002. He was born on August 15, 1907, in Belaire, OH, and has lived in Lansing most of his life. Mr. Malatinsky had been employed at Melling Drop Forge, retiring after 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose in 1990, and by a son, William in 1979. Surviving are: 2 sons, Stephen (Betty), and Joseph (Sally) Malatinsky, all of Lansing; 2 daughters, June Rose Marie (Wendell) Snyder of Lansing and Helen (James) Walker of South Haven; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor for their kindness and support.
Holmes, Herbert Heath
Lansing, MI
Age 94, passed away on November 27, 2003. He was born on March 15, 1909 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada the son of George and Ada Holmes. Selected while in High School to attend General Motors Institute of Technology, he graduated in 1935. He was an employee of Oldsmobile of Lansing as a motor design engineer form 1931-1972. He was a member of Lansing Lodge # 66, F. & A.M., Capitol Chapter of R.A.M., Capitol Caravan Club and Elf Khurafeh Shrine Temple. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Janet Mary Holmes and his brother Donald (wife Eleanor Miller Holmes). He is survived by his constant companion Ruth Price, our valued friend of the family. Also surviving is his sister Ada Lillian Carper (husband Richard Carper, deceased) and their families; his daughter Christina Jordan (husband John); his son Richard Heath Holmes, granddaughters Yvette and Nicole Holmes; his son Stephen Peter Holmes and wife Susan along with granddaughters Jennifer Spartin (husband Steven, great grandson Ryan and great grandson Steve Spartin, Jr.) Tiffany Sevener (husband Jeffrey and great grandson Joshua Heath). Herbert will always be remembered as a gentle soul who strived to do the right thing. He will be missed by his family, his friends and Puffer. At his request, no services will be held. Snapp, Druscilla "Boots"

Age 88, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2001. She was born on May 3, 1913 in Gregory, MI, the daughter of George and Alma (Willard) Meabon. Druscilla was the salutatorian of her graduating class in 1930, she always wished she could have went to college. She loved to fish, camp, square dance, sew, play cards, play scrabble and enjoyed Mason senior citizen events in the community. She was very talented and made all of her grandchildren stuffed monkeys, out of socks. She was preceded in death by: her husband of 35 years, Warren D. Snapp, in 1972; and sister, Gladys Ketchum. She is survived by: daughter, Kay (Fred) Hein of Mason; son, Daniel (Virginia) Snapp of Mason; brother, Loren Meabon of California; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many friends and neighbors. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 29, 2001 at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. The family received friends from 7-9 p.m., on Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hartland Hospice of Mason or to the Alzheimer's Association.
Hollingsworth, Robert P.

Age 90, passed away on September 29, 2002. He was born on June 9, 1912 in Shelby, Mississippi, the son of Robert and Evelyn (Hopkins) Hollingsworth. He was a graduate of Tuskegee Institute in Alabama; retired from the State of Michigan, worked for the State Library; was a former superintendent of Wildwood School in Grand Junction; was a broker and owner of Hollingsworth Realty Co. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army, serving in WWII. Robert loved reading and writing and had several songs, poems and short stories that had been published. He was preceded in death by: mother, Evelyn Cotton; and 1 great granddaughter. He is survived by: children, Lola (Anthony) Weatherspoon, Yolyn (fiancé` Nellie Robertson), Commillia Oliver, Frederick Hollingsworth, Milus Hollingsworth, Juanita Williams, Lois Bufford and Robert Hollingsworth, Jr.; 20 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; cousins, Margaret Abdulla and family, Minnie Lee and Shelly and James Hopkins; and former wife and good friend, Florence Hollingsworth. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 3, 2002 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in Fort Custer Cemetery in Augusta, MI. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., on Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at the funeral home.
