Marian N. Tompkins Dean
Marian N. Tompkins Dean, age 93, formerly of Ridgeway, died Saturday morning, May 7, 2005 at her daughter's home in Bloomington, Ind.
She was born Feb. 28, 1912 in Woodstock Township to the late Floyd C. and Florence M. (Crego) Tompkins)
She married D. Dale Dean of Bethel, Ohio June 22, 1935 and he preceded her in death April 1962. A son, James D. Dean in 2000; an infant sister, Marjorie M. Tompkins; and two brothers, Park W. and Ray H. Tompkins, further predeceased her.
She is survived by two sons, William R. of Ypsilanti; Thomas T. and wife, Diane, of Massena, New York; two daughters, Linda L. Moore and husband, Steven of Bloomington, Ind.; and Cynthia S. Buchanan, also of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Christopher Dean, Ypsilanti; Lynn Ann (Dean) Leach and Brian Dean of Monroe; Michael Moore, Los Angeles, Calif.; and six great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the Ridgeway Cemetery, Wednesday, May 25 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Amy Mayo Moyle officiating.
The children of Mrs. Dean suggest that those who wish may make contributions in their mother's name to Grace United Methodist Church, Britton, MI 49229; or the Salvation Army, 217 W. Church Street, Adrian, MI 49221.

Robert L. Burman
Robert L. Burman, age 80 of Jackson, died on Sunday, May 8, 2005, at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility in Jackson.

Roscoe Stubbins
Roscoe Stubbins died April 25, 2005 at Sarasota hospital in Florida. He was born October 23, 1918 to Milford and Fannie Sands Stubbins in Wauseon, Ohio.
On December 16, 1939 he married Viola E. Hoddinott of Adrian. They lived on a farm in Rome Township until moving to Zolfo Springs, Fla. in 1974. He worked for the town of Zolfo Springs, worked on a dairy farm and construction on 1-75.
While living in Michigan he was a member of Rome Grange, Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star, Michigan Farm Bureau, National Farmer Organization and was a 4-H Club Leader.
Survived by one daughter, Nancy (Kermit) Stevens of Wauchula, Fla; one son, Thomas (Julie) Stubbins of Pittsford, Mich.; five granddaughters, Kathy (Skipper) Calder of Zolfo Springs, Fla.; Tracie (David) Benzing of Sand Creek, Mich. Tonya Cantrall of Bradenton, Fla.; Erica Stubbins of Adrian, Mich.; and Karen (Gary) Hackett of Cement City; two grandsons, Edward Stevens of Wauchula, and Toby (Mary) Stubbins of Bland, Mo.; 15 great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Cheesbro of Lyons, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents, four sisters, two brothers, grandson Roy John Stevens and great grandson Robert Beckwith III, preceded him in death.
He was cremated, and memorial services will be held at a later date.

Erma R. Belman
Erma R. Belman, age 82 of Addison, passed away Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility in Hillsdale.

Leon Joseph Dufek
Leon Joseph Dufek, age 68 of Grass Lake, formally of Brooklyn, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2005 at Arbor Hospice. He was born July 28, 1936 the son of Louis E. and Josephine (Deynoer) Dufek.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Gloria; children, Chris (Vanessa) Dufek of Lake Columbia, Matt (Becky) Dufek of Napoleon, Bill (Christine) Dufek of Clarklake, Sue (Lance) Cuffle of Jackson, Kim (Cevin) Miller of Grass Lake and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son. Dale Martin Dufek. Leon was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving as Corporal in the U.S. Marines. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and will be truly missed by all.
A celebration of Leon's life was held on Tuesday, May 3, at Sherwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Chuck McNeil officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Federated Church of Grass Lake. Funeral arrangements were provided by Sherwood Funeral Home in Grass Lake.

Ida J. Yeider
Ida J. Yeider, age 75 of Clark Lake, passed away at W.A. Foote Memorial Hospital May 1, 2005.
She is survived by five children, Jerry (Kassie) Yeider, William Yeider, all of Napoleon, Doug (Kolette) Yeider of Clark Lake, Nancy Ann (Danny) Davis of Napoleon and Sharon Sue (Richard) Spangler of Jackson; seventeen grandchildren, many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by infant twins, Donna and Donald, brother Harry, former husband Gerald Yeider. She had retired from Ford Motor Company after 39 years of service and was a loving mother and grandmother.
Services were held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 5, with Rodney Meyers officiating. Interment was at Roseland Memorial Gardens. Contributions in her memory are directed to the American Diabetes Association. Funeral arrangements provided by Nichols-Arthur, Michigan Center.

Alice F. Boley
Alice F. Boley, age 91, passed away June 25, 2005. She was born on June 2, 1914, in Oakland, Calif., to the late Raymond and Florence (Nelson) Stone. She attended Carleton College in Minneapolis, Minn. She was a consummate painter, poet and writer with numerous art prizes in community shows. Her art encompassed a plethora of subjects from nature to human condition. Alice was a member of the Ann Arbor Art Association, Poetry Writing Group, Turner Writing Group, Opera Group and an avid reader.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Christina (Bill) Milone of Arizona; brother, Dick Stone of Ann Arbor; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four nephews and two nieces; and many supportive wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Raymond; and a brother. A gathering to celebrate her life for family and friends will be held at a later date. Arrangements were by Phillips Funeral Home, South Lyon.

Angeline Vettraino Major
Angeline Vettraino Major of Clinton Township, formerly of Brooklyn where she enjoyed living on Lake Columbia, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Clinton Township, at the age of 91 years.
Angeline was born Dec. 11, 1913, in Detroit, the daughter of Rocco and Maria (nee Fragnoli) Vettraino. On Nov. 23, 1938, Angeline married Lewis Major in Detroit. She was a homemaker, who was known for her great cooking, which was appreciated by all her family. Angeline was an extraordinary loving person, who was able to make instant friends. She was active her entire life, living on her own. Her hobbies were making miniatures, crocheting, especially baby sweater sets, and playing cards. Most recently she enjoyed a game of "Go Fish" with her great-grandsons.
Surviving are her son, Robert Lewis (Suzanne) Major of Clinton Township; grandchildren, Dr. Debra Ann Major of Norfolk, Va. and Robert Lewis Major Jr. of Virginia; great-grandchildren, Robert Lewis Major III, Scott Edward Major and Brian Major Garber; brothers, Ralph and Italo "Joseph" Vettraino; and sister, Marie Fregetto. Angeline was preceded by her husband, Lewis, on March 29, 1990; brothers, Eugene and Mario Vettraino; and sister, Rosina Rossi.
A funeral service took place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2005, at Hauss Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb Township, with the Rev. Fr. Charles Zee officiating. Inurnment was at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.

Sally A. Kostusak
Sally Kostusak, age 58, of Dexter, Mich. died peacefully at home on Aug. 18, 2005, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was a former resident of Lake Columbia. She was born Feb. 24, 1947 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. to Margaret (Eaton) and
Frank Kostusak Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Jones; brothers, Frank (Veronica) Kostusak Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev. and Wayne Kostusak of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; and sisters, Nancy Hixson of Port Charlotte, Fla. and Carol (Dan) Van Sickle of Onsted; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Kostusak.
Sally was a 1965 graduate of Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. She retired from Saline Ford Motor Company after 30 years. Sally was a gourmet cook who loved to share her love of cooking with friends and relatives. She enjoyed attending fine art fairs with friends and her sister. She was an avid bird enthusiast and was a member of the Ann Arbor Cage Bird Club. Her strength of character, her love of life and her sense of humor sustained her to the end.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005 at 7 p.m. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home 301 E. Michigan Ave Saline, Mich. with James Sprague officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made
to the American Cancer Society or Arbor Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home where friends may begin calling on Thursday from 6 p.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at the Franklin Twp. Cemetery located in Tipton, MI.

Bud Wayne Branham
A celebration of life service for Bud Wayne Branham, 40, of Clark Lake, Mich., and Counce, Tenn., will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at the Hitt Centennial Farm, 4561 North Lake Road, Clark Lake. He died on May 24, 2005 in a bicycle vs. car accident in Tennessee.
Family and friends are invited to stop by between 7 and 9 p.m. to enjoy good food and reminisce about Bud on what would have been his 41st birthday. The gathering will take place outside around a bonfire or indoors around the fireplace, depending on the weather.

LISA M. BLIVEN,
age 38 of Addison, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at The Toledo Hospital in Toledo, OH.
She was born on December 24, 1966 in Detroit, MI to Russell E. and Mary E. (Spicher) Elder. Lisa married Phillip O. Bliven, Sr. on January 11, 2000 at Clark Lake, Michigan, and he survives. She lived most of her life in Woodstock Township, Lenawee County, MI area. She graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1985. She was a former member of St. Marks Lutheran Church at Cambridge Junction. She enjoyed gardening and animals.
Surviving besides her husband Phillip are two daughters, Jessica Lantis and Brittany Bliven at home, her parents, Russell and Mary Elder of Addison, two brothers, Russell F. Elder of Novi, MI, Thomas (Nicole) Elder of Brooklyn, two nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 13, 2005 at the Lutheran Church of the Lakes in Addison, with Pastor David Gadbaw officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison, and then visitation from 10:00 am on Saturday until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be made in Woodstock-Sanford Cemetery, Woodstock Township, Lenawee County, MI. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
