Robert E. Dolata
September 7, 2008
Two days short of his 75th birthday, Robert Edgar Dolata left this earth in his sleep at his beloved home/cottage on Hi-land Lake in Hell Michigan. He was born on Sept 8, 1933 to Mathew J. and Hannah K. (Houvineu) Dolata. His beloved wife Dorothy Blevins Dolata passed on August 19, 1999. He is survived by his son, R. Daniel Dolata (Lynda) of Boise Idaho. One grandson, Dustin Daniel (Mary) Dolata of Nampa Idaho and great grandaughter Madison; Granddaughter, Dr. Danalyn E. (Brandon) Workentin of Boise, and two great grandsons, Matthew aka "Max" and Christopher; and granddaughter Darcy A.D. (David) Fonger of Nampa, Idaho, and two great grandsons, Jaden and Colten. His dog, Miss Dash, the Bassett Hound. One niece, Linda (Bob) Crump of Novi, Michigan also kept tabs on him. He has one sister, June (Gerry) Neumark of Atlanta Georgia.

"Bob" was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a staunch patriot. He then pursued a career as a teamster/truck driver for Koenig Fuel and Supply for many years. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America; the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 140 in Detroit and Hamburg Post # 1224. He also volunteered many hours of service at the VA hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Recently he became active in the Putnam Township planning and zoning commission and the election board.

In lieu of flowers, you could take a friend to vote, or out to lunch, or volunteer in your community, or make a donation to the cancer society or heart association.

Bob will be sorely missed by his "Girl friends", Miss Dash, Pam, Liz and Jeri, and Doris. As a volunteer at the VA he always had greeting or a comeback for everyone needing his "guidance', "Bobisms". He always spoke his mind, but hated good byes, so Dad this isn't good bye, just till we meet again. Love Dan and Lynda, family and friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 at Shelters Funeral Home in Pinckney, Michigan.
