Charles D. Oesterle, 26 years, of Pinckney, Michigan died Friday morning, December 29, 2006 at his residence.
He was born September 10, 1980 in Howell, Michigan; the son of David and Sue (Bell) Oesterle.
Charles worked for the Rush Lake Hills Golf Club in Hamburg Township, Michigan.
He is survived by his mother and father; three brothers, David, Mark and Clint all of Pinckney, Michigan; one sister, Lisa Columbo of Fowlerville, Michigan; paternal grandmother, Irene Oesterle of Pinckney, Michigan.
Family will receive friends 11 to 8 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the Shelters Funeral Home in Pinckney, Michigan.
Merlyn A. Ostrum

Merlyn "Bud" Ostrum, 83 years, of Tipton, Michigan and a former long-time Pinckney, Michigan resident died Thursday afternoon, December 21, 2006 at the Herrick Memorial Hospital in Tecumseh, Michigan.
He was born September 8, 1923 in Petoskey, Michigan; the son of Delos and Effie Cochran Ostrum. Merlyn married Ethelyn Barnes on June 10, 1950 in Charlevoix, Michigan and she preceded in death June 28, 2000.
He is survived by one daughter, Karen Ballard of New York; two sons, Harold of Pennsylvania and James of Tipton, MI; ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; preceded in death by his daughter, Marlyn.
Merlyn retired from the Chrysler Corporation.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Laura Lee Pope

Laura Lee Pope, 67 years, of Pinckney, Michigan and former resident of Brighton, Michigan died Thursday afternoon, November 30, 2006 at Angela Hospice in Livonia, Michigan.
Laura was born May 25, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan; the daughter of Harry and Ann (Remus) Lackner.
She is survived by her children, Jim Susalla of Brighton, Sandy Carter of Westland, Paul Susalla of South Lyon and Karen Susalla of Ann Arbor; four grandchildren.
Laura owned and operated Laura's Craft Shop of Brighton, Michigan.
Funeral mass will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, December 5 at St. Mary Catholic Church of Pinckney, Michigan with Rev. Father Kenneth Coughlin as celebrant.
Family will receive friends 1-8 PM Monday, December 4 at Shelters Funeral Home in Pinckney, Michigan and 10 AM till time of service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Angela Hospice 14100 Newburgh Rd. Livonia, Michigan 48154
Margaret A. Wakeman

Margaret Agnes (nee Vasek) Wakeman, of Pinckney, MI, died with her family by her side Monday, November 6, 2006 at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI.
Mrs. Wakeman was born July 11, 1929 in Coal City, Illinois to James and Marion (nee Brown) Vasek. After graduating from Coal City high school, she earned her R.N. from Presbyterian St. Luke’s in Chicago. October 6, 1950 she married William Marta Wakeman. She later attended both Joliet Junior College and Olivet University, earning a BA in Education and a Masters Degree. She taught in both the Wilmington and Crete-Monee school districts. Mrs. Wakeman was a former member of the New Hope Presbyterian Church, Coal City, where four generations of her family attended. She and her late husband were members of the White Star Chapter of the Eastern Star, Braidwood, Illinois.
Mrs. Waksman’s love of travel took her to many countries and in recent years she did extensive genealogy research in her Czech, Irish and Scot heritage, as well as her late husband’s Italian heritage. She enjoyed staying in touch with her many friends in Illinois after moving to Michigan through letter writing and cards.
Surviving are her two children; Alice Roderick, of Pinckney, Michigan and Alan (Ann) Wakeman of Indianapolis, Indiana, and five grandchildren: Lauren Roderick, Alex Roderick, Lindsay (Tim) Church, Juli Wakeman and Kimberly Wakeman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister, Mary Alice Groth of Belton, TX.
A family memorial service has been planned at the First Presbyterian Church of Brighton, Michigan at 4 PM on Saturday November 25th, 2006.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to the American Diabetes Association, or, the Coal City Library for furthering their genealogy collection of reference materials.
Robert A. Trudell

Robert Allen Trudell, “Bob” - Age 76, died peacefully Saturday morning, October 28, 2006, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.
He was born on February 7, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan; the son of Allie and Elsie (Ermatinger) Trudell. Bob married Valerie Burke on June 1, 1963 in Berkley, Michigan and his loving wife preceded him in death on March 21, 1999. He is also preceded in death by his brother Francis Trudell.
Bob is survived by a son, Thomas (Yvonne) Trudell of Pinckney; two daughters, Tracy (Michael) Simons of Plymouth and Taryn Trudell of Westland; and one granddaughter, Danielle Simons.
Bob was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and served in the Korean War.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 3, 2006 at Shelters Funeral Home in Pinckney, Michigan. Family will receive friends on Friday, November 3rd from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
