Alice Marie Swenor
MARQUETTE -- Alice Marie Swenor, 93, of 526 Fisher Street, Marquette, entered eternal life Saturday afternoon, December 30, 2000, at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming where she had been a resident since December 6. She had been in ill health for the past six months. Born June 9, 1907 in Marquette, a daughter of the late Edward and Roselie (Vadnais) Vadnais, she was a lifelong Marquette resident. On May 16, 1925 Alice married Adolph J. Swenor and the couple set about establishing their home and eventually raising a family that included thirteen children. Throughout the years, Alice was employed in the housekeeping department of the former St. Mary's Hospital, and also performed housekeeping duties for several offices and households in the area. She retired in the early 1960's. Alice's family always came first, and she took particular enjoyment in her many grandchildren. She loved to read and was a very good baker. Alice was a member of St. Peter Cathedral and a member of the former St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she is survived by: eight daughters, Florence Gezella of Green Bay, WI, Shirley Koepp, Rosemary (Michael) Walin, Elizabeth (Arthur) Belanger, Joyce (James) Constance, Nancy Swenor, Mary (Oscar) Haglund, and Lois (Marvin) Gibson all of Marquette; five sons, Robert (Margaret) Swenor, William (Betty) Swenor, Louis Swenor, James (Betty Lou) Swenor, and Donald (Elizabeth) Swenor all of Marquette; 43 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Cecile Tennant of Cadillac; a sister-in-law, Jessie Vadnais of Marquette; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband Adolph in 1972; by two grandsons, Michael Alan Haglund and Thomas Paul Swenor; two sons-in-law, Adolph Gezella and Howard Koepp; a daughter- in-law, Mary Ann Swenor; two sisters, Florence Lancour and Jeanette Swajanen; two brothers, Louis and Frederick Vadnais; her brothers-in-law, Lorance Tennant and John Swajanen; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Vadnais. Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 2, from 3 :00 to 6:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm in St. Peter Cathedral with Rev. Msgr. Louis Cappo, rector, as celebrant. Alice's escorts will be her grandchildren, Gary Koepp, David Swenor, James Haglund, Bruce Swenor, Scott Gibson, James Constance, Mark Gezella, Linda Monty, Linda Carlson, Sharon Larson, Mary Gezella, Sue Campbell, and Mary Rabitaille. Inurnment will be made in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
LeRoy H. Blau
LAURIUM -- LeRoy H. Blau, 89, of Laurium passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2000 at Marquette General Hospital where he had been a patient for 4 weeks.
Roy was born on October 21, 1911, to Andrew and Elizabeth Blau in Florida Location. He was a lifelong resident of Laurium. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gen (Fontaine) Blau.
Roy was a loving and caring person to all his family and friends, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He loved the outdoors and was often seen "pushing snow" in the early morning hours for all of his neighbors and friends. In the summer he maintained two beautiful, big gardens and shared their bounty with all. Roy loved to fish and deer hunted up to his 88th year.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert (Janet) Blau of Mukwanago, and a daughter, Marilyn (Bill) Gangwer of Paulding, Ohio. He is also survived by a sister, Eva Kesanen of Laurium and a brother, Melvin Blau of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Also, his grandchildren, Gabrielle (Andy) Porter, Gretchen (Sean) Matty, Lindsay Gangwer and her fiancee Aaron Draime and Rachel Gangwer - all of Ohio. Betty Mae (Eric) Peterson, Robert Blau, and Kim Blau, all of Texas. Kim (Dennis) Martin, Peggy (Nick) Fontaine, John (Melody) Schilling, Jim Schilling, and Bob (B.J.) Blau, all of Wisconsin. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews. Roy is preceded in death by one son, LeRoy (Butch) Blau, three brothers, Matt, Lawrence, and Andy Blau, and one sister, Pearl Warren.
Roy worked at C&H (Calumet and Hecla) for 25 years and also Gunlach Construction and later, Ness Construction until his retirement.
Visitation is at the Ryan Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9. The funeral service will be at the St. Paul Catholic Church in Calumet at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
Leo T. 'Keeta' Herman
NEGAUNEE -- Leo T. 'Keeta' Herman, 84, of 517 Prince St., Negaunee died on Monday morning, Jan. 1, 2001 at Marquette General Hospital where he had been a patient for 2 days.
Mr. Herman was born May 16, 1916 in Hibbing, MN to John & Mary (Lequia) Herman and was a life long area resident. He worked as an underground miner for CCI and retired from the Mather B Mine in 1976 with 40 years of service with the company.
Mr. Herman was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee, was a life member of the Negaunee Knights of Columbus, was a Golden Eagle of the Negaunee Eagles Lodge and played in the Negaunee Pinochle League for many years. His hobbies included hunting,
fishing,& playing his guitar. He enjoyed his pet dog, Mitzy.
Surviving are his wife of 59 1/2 years, Signe (Jacobson), 2 daughters; Marlene Lawson, Winthrop Harbor, IL, Barbara (John) Cohan, Negaunee, 5 brothers; Albert Herman, Negaunee, Lawrence (Juleen) Herman, Largo, FL, Peter (Dilia) Herman, New Port Richey, FL, Louis Herman, Negaunee, Fred (Doris) Herman, Gwinn, 1 sister, Elizabeth Sather, Detroit, 6 grandchildren; Jeri (John) Parkonen, Kathy (Ken) Willis, Jeff Lawson, Kurt (Karen) Cohan, Colleen (Dan) LaJoie, Kevin (Lynn) Cohan, 5 great grandchildren; Jeremy, Jodi, Jesica, Bradley, Kenny, III, Ashely, Andrew, Aaron, & Matthew, several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers & sisters.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Rev. John J. Shiverski officiating. Pallbearers will be Mr. Herman's grandsons. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Koskey Funeral Home from 5-8 PM on Wednesday. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM led by Sister JoAnn Jauquet.
Lucille M. Miller
NEGAUNEE -- Lucille M. Miller, age 86, died at 7:20 PM on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where she had been a patient since Jan. of 1999. She was born July 26,1914 in Marietta, OH and was a graduate of Ohio State University earning a degree as an English & French major. She worked for many years as an office manager for a building supply company and was a homemaker. She came to this area in 1994 from Columbus, OH and was a former member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Columbus. She was a naturalist and her hobbies included bird watching & camping.
Surviving are one son, Hugh M. (Mary Ann) Miller, Negaunee ,one daughter, Leslie (Gerald) Gantzer, Dallas, TX, 6 grandchildren; Jamie Hanes, Hugh M. Miller, III, Kurt Gantzer, Kenneth Gantzer, Kathy Thompson, Daniel Gantzer, 6 great grandchildren, Eric &
Ryan Gantzer, Grady Thompson, Reid, Brenna, & Claire Gantzer, 2 brothers; Frank Masse, Oakland, CA, Arthur Napoleon Masse, Jr., Denver, CO, several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh M. Miller, 2 brothers; Fred & Reed Masse.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee with Rev. John J. Shiverski officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Columbus, OH. There will be no visitation.

Wilhelmina C. Bond-Fetty
ENGADINE -- Wilhelmina C. Bond-Fetty, 89, of the Hiawath Sportsman Club, Engadine, died at her home on Saturday, December 30, 2000 following a short illness.
Wilhelmina was born August 14, 1911 in Decatur, MI to Neilsen N. & Maude (Vroegendewey) Jensen. During WWII she was a "Rosie Riviter" working for the Devoe Shipyards near Bay City. During this time she received training and then her license as an LPN and was employed in a First Aid Station in the Defense Plants of Detroit. Following this, she moved to the Kalamazoo area and was employed in Verdries Nursing Home for 18+ years. She then became a private duty nurse and was employed by the founder of the Kalamazoo Psychiatric Center until her retirement. During this employment she travelled extensively throughout the world. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Kalamazoo, the Eastern Star #469 of Detroit, and the Hiawatha Sportsman's Club since the middle 1980's. She was also a member of several Nursing organizations during her employment. Wilhelmina married Lester Fetty in Munising who preceded her in death on June 17,1994. Also preceding her in death were 1 son Neal in 1964, her first husband Paul Bond, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Wilhelmenia enjoyed cooking, gardening and was an avid outdoors person.
Survivors include 1 daughter Patricia Bond of Bonita Springs, FL and 1 step-brother Clair Lockwood of Charlotte, MI., 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren with twin great great granddaughters expected in March and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Engadine United Methodist Church on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at 12 noon with Pastor Ronald Piette officiating. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 until the time of services. Interment will be held in Engadine Cemetery at a later date.

Beatrice Winifred (Winnie) Bullock
MARQUETTE -- Beatrice Winifred (Winnie) Bullock, 92, formerly of 1115 High St. Marquette and Sporley Lake, died January 1, 2001 at the Eastwood Nursing Center where she had been a resident since February 1996.
She was born July 2, 1908 in Battle Creek, MI to Florabelle and Frank Spooner and had lived in Marquette since 1936.
Winifred graduated from Western State Teachers College in 1928 and taught school in lower Michigan prior to coming to Marquette. She was among the first staff at Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay during the summers of 1933-35, serving as Counselor of Organized Play. She also was a long time leader of both the boy scouts and girl scouts. In 1936 she married James C. Bullock Sr. and became a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. Her life revolved around her family, horses, and her camp at Sporley Lake.
She is survived by two sons; James C. Bullock Jr. (Nancy) of Iron Mountain and Marco Island, FL, and Kenneth Bullock (Linda) of Marquette, two daughters; Denise Hammond (Barrie) of Yuba City, CA, and Susan Luman (Ken) of Heavener, OK, a brother David Spooner (Anne) of Des Moines, IA, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son and her husband of 52 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 4, 2001 in the Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home with Monsignor Jed Patrick of St. Michael Church officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Bay Cliff Health Camp.
Helen R. Carnell
AUTRAIN / ESCANABA -- Helen R. Carnell, age 84, of the Northwoods Assisted Living Center in Escanaba and formerly of AuTrain Lake, died on Saturday, December 30, 2000 at 3:25 P.M. at the Pine Crest Medical Care Facility in Powers, Michigan. She was born on May 14, 1916 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to the late Walter and Mary (Kubieck) LaBurda. Helen married Mark Carnell on August 22, 1946 and he preceded her in death on February 26, l987. She resided in Dearborn, Michigan until 1968 when they retired to AuTrain. Helen lived in AuTrain until July of 1998 when she moved to the Northwoods Assisted Living Center in Escanaba. Helen was a member of the Yard and Garden Club of Alger County, the Alger County Historical Society, the Pictured Rocks Golf and Country Club, and a square dancing club. She loved the outdoors, walking, golfing, cross-country skiing, and making crafts. Helen had a gift for flowers. She loved to arrange flowers and had amazing gardens. In the late 1950's, she was honored as Michigan Gardener of the Year for her beautiful garden in Dearborn.
She is survived by a sister - Eleanor Johnson of AuTrain, brother - Edward "Babe" LaBurda of Taylor, MI, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law - Floyd (Phylis) Ferguson, Naomi Camell, Francis Camell, and Joseph "Tony" Nadeau, all of Dearborn, numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted by Pastors Kurt and Mary Beth Kovanen on Friday, January 5, 2001 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bowerman Funeral Chapel in Munising. Friends may visit with the family from noon until the time of the memorial service. Margaret L. Duncan
NEGAUNEE -- Margaret L. Duncan, 83, formerly of Valley View Apartments, Negaunee, died at 11:45 AM on Monday, Jan. 1, 2001 at the Mather Nursing Center where she had been a patient for 4 years.
Margaret was born March 9, 1917 in Negaunee to William & Ann (Rochon) Langlois, and was a graduate of Negaunee High School, Class of 1935. She attended Oak Park Hospital School of Nursing, Oak Park, IL, where she earned her R.N. degree. She worked at Oak Park Hospital for many years before returning to this area where she worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Marquette for over 8 years prior to her retirement. She was a Negaunee resident since 1986.
Margaret was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee. She was an avid reader and enjoyed making use of the Negaunee Public Library.
Surviving are 1 sister, Florence Listerman, Negaunee, 1 brother, Philip (Patricia) Langlois, Negaunee, several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clyde V. Duncan in 1986, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Rev. John J. Shiverski officiating. Interment will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Paul Memorial Fund in Margaret's memory.

Margaret T. Dompier
L'ANSE -- Margaret T. Dompier, 65, a life long resident of L'Anse passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2000 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.
She was born on February 8, 1935 in L'Anse a daughter to Dave and Mabel (Fredrickson) Anderson. Margaret was a graduate of L'Anse High School.
On August 8, 1953 in Baraga she married, Joseph R. Dompier and he preceded her in death on September 30, 1992.
Mrs. Dompier was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed her cats and knitting.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L'Anse V.F.W. Post #3897 Auxiliary, and was an avid golfer at the L'Anse Golf Club.
Preceding her in death were her father, husband, Joseph R. Dompier, brother Donald Anderson and son-in-law, Jack Giddings.
Surviving are her mother, Mabel Anderson of Bayside Village, 2 sons - David (Vicki) Dompier of Baraga, Jay (Renita) Dompier of L'Anse, 5 daughters, Denise Giddings of Baraga, Diane (Mark) Richard, Vicki (Frank) Sanregret, Lori(Mike) Egan and Tami (Jeff) Larson all of L'Anse, 1 brother, Ken (Anne) Anderson of L'Anse, 20 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2001 at 11 A.M., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in L'Anse with Fr. Greg Heikkala to officiate.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 from 6 to 9 P.M. at the Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse, where parish prayers to be recited at 7 P.M.

Mary Lou Ranguette
MUNISING -- Mary Lou Ranguette (nee Menard), age 75, of 221 E. Jewell Street, Munising, died on Monday, January 1, 2001 at her home. She was born on May 15, 1925 in Escanaba, Michigan to the late Jeffrey and Regina (Groos) Menard. On July 8, 1947, she married her best friend and lifetime companion, Robert E. Ranguette. Besides her husband, Mary Lou is survived by her daughter Beth Morton and her granddaughters, Jennifer (Michael D a l e s s a n d r i) and Kristina, all of Milwaukee, her brother William (Elaine) Menard of Escanaba, sister-in-law, June (William) Baum of Escanaba, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Richard, Herbert, and Jeffery, and her sister, Beatrice.
Mary Lou worked as an employment supervisor at Michigan Bell and sold real estate, but volunteering for the Girl Scouts, Hospital Auxiliary, and teaching religious education classes over the years are what Mary Lou found most gratifying. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the National Catholic Order of Foresters. Mary Lou was a club champion at Pictured Rocks Golf and Country Club and enjoyed golfing since the early days of her marriage. She also enjoyed bridge and gardening.
Friends may call at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00. The National Catholic Order of Foresters will recite the Rosary at 5 :00 P.M. and a Parish Vigil service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. The funeral will be officiated by Father Dennis L. Borca on Thursday, January 4, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Escanaba, Michigan. She will be escorted by members of the Knights of Columbus and honorary escorts will be members of the National Catholic Order of Foresters.
Sophie H. Ranta
REPUBLIC -- Sophie H. Ranta, age 96, formerly of Republic passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2001 at the Mather Nursing Center, where she had been a resident since February of 1992.
Sophie was born August 17, 1904 in Ishpeming to the late Gust & Alexandra (Lahdenpera) Linna. On Nov. 14, 1942 she married Nick Ranta, who preceded her in death in 1958. She and her husband resided in Bruce Crossing for a short period prior to her return to Republic. Sophie worked as a woods worker in the Republic area and also as an aid at the Serepta Nursing Home in Republic. She was a member of the Republic Apostolic Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a sister in law, Saimi Linna of Republic along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Saima Warlin & Lillian Maki, brothers, William, Andrew, Matt, Leonard & Waino Linna.
Funeral services will be held at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2001 with Andrew Kandoll to officiate. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Bruce Crossing, MI.

Sylvia M. Giles
MUSKEGON -- Miss Sylvia M. Giles, age 75, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2001. She was born on February 26, 1925 to John and Hilma (Peterson) Giles in Munising, MI. Sylvia graduated from Mather High School in Munising in 1944 and moved to the Muskegon area in 1946. She worked at the George Morrell Corp. for 18 years. and at the postal sub-service station in Lakeside for several years until her retirement in 1973. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Sylvia was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlene Miesen, her parents, her brother Gerald, and her sister Nancy. She is SURVIVED by 2 brothers, Earl (Rachel) Giles and Charles William Giles, of Munising, 1 sister, Alice M. (Lloyd) Burkholder of St. Paul, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. Rose Warington
ST. AUSTELL, CORNWALL ENGLAND -- Rose Warrington, 92, quietly passed away, Dec. 27, 2000 at Woodlands House in St. Austell, Cornwall, where she had been a resident for the last 4 years. Rose was born May 5, 1908 in London, within the sound of the Bow Bells. Rose worked for 21 years at Potters Bar General Hospital. Rose's life was dedicated to her family which consisted of 8 children, 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by her husband Jack Warrington of 56 years at the time of his passing. Rose loved her trips to Marquette to visit two of her daughters living here, Jennifer (Rob) Reinert and Josephine (Joe) Clement, and made many friends in the Marquette area. She often commented on how much she loved the vast, rugged beauty of the Upper Peninsula and how much it reminded her of Cornwall. Rose was a member of the Church of England. Rose is survived by her 4 daughters, Jean, Sylvia, Jennifer & Josephine and 4 sons, Ronald, Dennis, Alan & Kenneth, all but Jennifer & Josephine, living in United Kingdom.
Richard Dean Hallifax

Robert R. "Bob" Soulliere, Sr.
MARQUETTE -- Robert R. "Bob" Soulliere, Sr., 77, of 2622 Center Street, Marquette, entered eternal life Wednesday morning, January 3, 2001, at his home in the care and comfort of his family and the caregivers of Lake Superior Hospice. Born September 11 , 1923 in Gibbs City, a son of the late Francis and Effie (McPherson) Soulliere, he was raised in Strongs, and had been a Marquette area resident for the past 33 years. He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict, having served in the US Army, receiving the American Service, Good Conduct, World War II Victory, European African Middle Eastern Service, and Korean Service Medals. Bob was employed throughout the years as a logger, teamster, and mason, having at one time worked for Don Britton Construction. He had been retired since 1985. Bob's family always came first and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He was a member of Richard Jopling Post #44 of the American Legion and a former member of Marquette Moose Lodge #1059. His hobbies and interests included hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing. A devoted husband, father, proud grandfather, and brother, he is survived by: his wife, Loana M. "Anna" Soulliere, whom he married February 13, 1968; two daughters, Eva (Shane) Racine of Gwinn, and Maple (Maury) Mezo of Brooklyn; six sons, Robert (Linda) Soulliere Jr of Saline, Frank (Judy) Soulliere residing in Lower Michigan, Ronnie Corino and Philip (Lisa) Miller both of Brooklyn, Jim Reed of Arizona, and Carl Reed of Marquette; 14 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren; a sister, Gladys (Larry) Riehle of Zephyrhills, FL; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a daughter Effie Sheldon in 1999; a son Anthony Soulliere; a grandson, Ricky Taylor, twin grandchildren, Brittany and Whittney Barringer; and two brothers, Zane and Clifford Soulliere. ESCANABA -- Josephine Catherine Wild, 89, of Chicago, IL, entered eternal life late Thursday evening, January 4, 2001, at the Bishop Noa Home for Senior Citizens in Escanaba, following a lengthy illness. She had resided at the Noa Home since May of 1998, previously living with her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Edward Noel, in Marquette during the winter of 1997. Born August 2, 1911 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Max and Louise (Muskon) Novak, she resided in Chicago most of her life. She was a graduate of the Columbia Business School and was a clerical worker prior to her marriage to Harold J. Wild on July 11, 1937. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Parish and was involved in various prayer groups through the parish. She was also a secular member of the Servite Order. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and sister, she is survived by: her daughter, Janice (Edward) Noel of Marquette; a son, Thomas (Beth) Wild of Shoreview, MN; her grandchildren, Scott, Mike, Sue, Robbie, Heather, Andrea, Kate, Dan, Lynn, and Jennifer; 8 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline (Richard) Parle of Sun City, CA. In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Wild in February 1979; her mother-in- law, Helen J. Wild; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Nelson. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Victory Parish in Chicago with burial in St. Adalbert Cemetery. The John V. May Funeral Home, Chicago, is in charge of arrangements. The Fassbender Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

REXTON -- Milan "Mick" Hart, 68, of Rexton, died Wednesday evening January 3, 2001 at his residence. At request, cremation services will take place. A memorial service will be held Saturday January 6, 2001 at 2:00 pm at the Rexton Mennonite Church with Pastor Tim Miller officiating.

CURTIS -- Allen L. Weaver, 47, of Curtis, died Tuesday January 2, 2001 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI.
Funeral services will be held Saturday January 6, 2001 at 2:00 pm at the Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry with Pastor Greg Carlson officiating. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Curtis. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday January 5th from 6-9 pm and also on Saturday form 1:00 pm until time of services
Albert F. Spruce
BARAGA -- Albert F. Spruce, 64, passed away Friday, January 5, 2001 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Sunday, January 7, 2001 at 3 p.m. from the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Baraga. Father George Joseph will be the Celebrant and Spring burial will be in the Assinins Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 2 until time of the service.
