Marjorie Grace "Marge" Russell
MARQUETTE -- Marjorie Grace "Marge" Russell, 78, of 1538 W. Ridge St., died March 6, 2001 at Marquette General Hospital where she had been a patient the past four days.
She was born March 25, 1922 in Wausau, WI to Torger and Ella (Johnson) Lee and had lived in this area for 50 years. For the past twenty years she was a frequent volunteer at Marquette General Hospital, and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Marge is survived by two daughters: Cynthia Russell Spomer of Portland, OR and Jane Ellen Russell of Marquette, a stepdaughter Cynthia Olson of Fairfield Glade, TN, a son Michael W. Russell of Jackson, WY, a stepson James Russell of Crossville, TN, eight grandchildren: Bradley Havel, Lindsey Havel, Christopher Hauptman, Carlye Bryant, James Russell, Frank Russell, Darren Dumochel, Boden Russell, and four great grandchildren: Beau Bryant, Reid Grobar, Sarah Hauptman and Emary Dumochel. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1983.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 9, 2001 in the Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Burke officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday.

Patricia A. Bangren
PEKIN, IL -- Patricia A. Bangren, 71, of 1402 Camden St., died at 9:15 AM Monday, March 5, 2001 at Pekin Manor in Pekin, IL.
She was born March 30 ,1929 in Marquette, Michigan to Harry and Esther (Fredrickson) Erickson. She married Carl A. Bangren June 18, 1949 in Marquette, Michigan, he survives of Pekin, IL.
Surviving are: two daughters Carla L. ( and George M.) Jackson; Lauri (and Robert) Shepperd both of Pekin, IL; three grandchildren Brody Jackson of El Paso, Texas, Bianca and Brenten Jackson, both of Austin, Texas; one brother Ell Erickson of Rockford, IL; two sisters Arla Rippel of Pekin, IL; and Beverly MacNealy of Canton, Ohio.
She was a Charter Member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pekin, IL.
Funeral Services will be private at Noel-Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. The Rev. Linda McKinney wil officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, IL.

Shirley M. Lammi
CHATHAM -- Shirley M. Lammi, age 71, of Chatham, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at 10:42 p.m.at the Pine Crest Nursing Care Facility in Powers, Michigan. Mrs. Lammi was born on September 4, 1929 in Milwaukee. Friends may call at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Rita's Church in Trenary. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to establish a scholarship in Shirley's name at The Superior Central School. Complete arrangements will be announced by the Bowerman Funeral Home.
Frederick R. Paananen
PELKIE -- Frederick R. Paananen, 90, of Pelkie, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at Bayside Village, L'Anse following a lengthy illness. Mr. Paananen was born in Allouez, MI, son of the late William and Alina (Peltonen) Paananen. Frederick attended Pinecreek School. He operated the family farm and was a lifetime resident of Pelkie. Mr. Paananen's leisure activities included hunting, fishing, and enjoyed playing cards.
Mr. Paananen is survived by a brother; Reino Paananen of Pelkie, MI; sisters, Grace (Alfred) Scarborough of Allenton, FL, Elma Yankovich of Wall, NJ, and Jean (Norman) Degen of Summerfield, FL; half-sisters; Hedy Dixon of Tucson, AZ, and Anna (Kenneth) Dixon of Houghton, MI. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded by a brother, Waino; sisters, Esther Hermala and Olga Kotila.
Funeral services for Mr. Paananen will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2001 from the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse. Pastor Richard Eskola will officiate and Spring burial will take place in the Pelkie Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral chapel Saturday, March 10, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Following the service, friends are invited to join the family for fellowship and lunch in the Harrington Gathering Room located at the funeral home. The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse assisted the family with arrangements.
Mildred Louise (Mutka) Bennetts
MARQUETTE -- Mildred Louise (Mutka) Bennetts, 72, of 726 W. Magnetic St., died Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at her home.
She was born September 6,1928 in Marquette to Victor and Jennie (Koskela) Mutka and was a life long resident of Marquette.
Louise graduated from John D. Pierce High School in 1946. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir for over 50 years, was an officer in Redeemer Women and President of the Esther Circle for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress and also enjoyed knitting, quilting and crocheting all through her life.
Louise was a devoted and loving wife to Roger, her husband of 50 years, who preceded her in death in January of this year. She was a loving mother and grandmother to her children; daughters Jane (Don) Scherdt of Edmond, OK and Sue(Brian) Rowe of Verona, Wi, her son Ed (Celine) Bennetts of Channahon, IL, six grandchildren, 2nd Lt. Dan Scherdt, Emily Scherdt, Abby Scherdt, Amanda Rowe, Eric Rowe, and Elizabeth Bennetts. She is also survived by a niece Mary (Thomas) Shortreed and a nephew Michael (Nancy) Flesch. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Pauline Flesch.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, March 10, 2001 in the Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Weber officiating. There will be lunch served at the church following the service. Burial will be in Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00 AM Saturday. The Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Norman M. "Babe" Norr
MARQUETTE -- Norman M. "Babe" Norr, age 90, of 17644 R.B. Road, Rock (McFarland area) and former Marquette resident, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at home following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 5, 1910 in Nestoria, MI, the son of Charles Norr and the former Clara Charlotte Johnson and was raised in the south Marquette area. He later lived and worked in Marquette. "Babe" was employed at the Empire Mine and the Cleveland Cliff Dow Co. as a chemical worker, and later for the Marquette County Road Commission. He was later employed by Marquette General Hospital as a maintenance worker until retiring in 1972 when he moved to the McFarland area.
"Babe" was an active member of the Rock Bible Chapel, and enjoyed to fish, hunt and trap. He also enjoyed sports, especially, baseball and hockey. He was known a "jack of all trades", and built his own home in McFarland.
Survivors include: His wife, the former Winifred E. Huff, whom he married November 7, 1931. 4 daughters, Charlotte (Glynn) Mumpower of Skandia, Carol Yeadon of Rock, Norma (Elden) Rivord of Cottonwood, AZ, LaVerne (Jerry) Foster of Molalla, Oregon, 16 grandchildren, 21 great-granchildren, 1 great great grandson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Martin, Helmer, Clarence, and Arnold Norr; 3 sisters, Anna Albertson, Alice Keller, and Lillian Lamberg. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ben "Pat" Yeadon, of Rock in 1998.
The family of Norman M. "Babe" Norr will receive friends on Saturday at the Rock Bible Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the Rock Bible Chapel with Bill DeCote and Mike Lepisto officiating. A coffee luncheon will follow services at the Rock Bible Chapel. An additional visitation for "Babe" Norr will be held on Sunday at the Fassbender Funeral Home in Marquette from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a Scripture Reading and remarks at 4:00 p.m. at the Fassbender Funeral Home by Rev. Robert Donaldson of the Bethel Baptist Church of Marquette assisting. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery, Marquette. The Skradski Funeral of Gladstone and the Fassbender Funeral Home of Marquette are in the care of all arrangements, Memorials may be directed to the Rock Bible Chapel.
Shirley M. Lammi
CHATHAM -- Shirley M. Lammi, age 71, of Chatham, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at 10:42 P.M. at the Pine Crest Nursing Care Facility in Powers, Michigan following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Lammi was born on September 4, 1929 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late George and Gertrude (Charette) Dailey. She graduated from Kingsford High School in 1947 and from Northern Normal Teaching School in 1951 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Shirley married Leo Lammi on June 20, 1952. She taught school for 35 years and retired from the Rock River Schools in 1986. Shirley was a member of the Michigan Education Association and she served as secretary on the Chatham Village Board. She was also a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church in Trenary. Shirley enjoyed knitting and crocheting and she taught a knitting class in the Adult Enrichment Classes at Eben High School.
She is survived by her husband of over 48 years, Leo Lammi of Chatham; their four sons - William & Kathryn Lammi of Sundell, Robert & Kay Lammi of Cincinnatti, Michael & Christine Lammi of Jackson, and Thomas & Sharon Lammi of Green Bay; daughter - Ruth & Jay Pozner of Jackson; 9 grandchildren - Rachel Pozner, Christopher, Sara, Caryn, Matthew, Ryan, Robert, Allison, and Kolby Lammi; brother-in-law Acquiline Weigel of Norridge, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Andrew on July 15, 1981, her sister, Mary Weigel, infant twin brothers, Clayton and Clinton, and an infant sister.
Friends may call at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Father Thomas Thekkel will conduct the funeral mass on Saturday, March 10, 2001 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Rita's Church in Trenary. Interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to establish a scholarship in Shirley's name at the Superior Central School.
Sigrid E. Pulkki
MARQUETTE -- Sigrid E. Pulkki, 84, of Marquette passed into eternal grace in the loving arms of her children on Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at the Eastwood Nursing Center, Negaunee following a series of illnesses. She was born on October 5, 1916 in Summit, MI, daughter of the late Jacob and Wilhelmina (Anander) Walitalo. She spent her childhood years in Summit while attending the Summit and L'Anse Schools. On May 29, 1937 she married Paul B. Pulkki in Hancock, MI. Following the death of her husband in 1973, Sigrid lived in L'Anse until moving to Marquette in 1996. Sigrid worked at the Hilltop Motel and the Baraga County Memorial Hospital in the housekeeping department before retiring in 1974. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church, Baragaland Senior Citizens, L'Anse Eagles Post #2287, and T.O.P.S.
Mrs. Pulkki's leisure activities included music, dancing, working on latch hook rugs and especially drives on backwoods roads to look at the changing beauty of nature.
Sigrid is survived by her son, Paul E. Pulkki, daughter, Marlene (Ronald) Nier both of Marquette, granddaughter, Kristine (Dale) Liljeroos, great-grandson, John Liljeroos all of Marquette. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded by brothers, Theodore and Waino Walitalo, sisters; Olga Walitalo, Saima Saari, Ida Jokinen, Martha Haanpaa and Bertha Saaranen.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Pulkki will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2001, from the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse. Fred Kinnunen
L'ANSE -- A. Frederick Kinnunen, 75, of L'Anse passed away on Friday, March 9, 2001 at the Baraga County Memorial Hospital in L'Anse.
Fred was born on, July 16, 1925 in Alston a son of the late Frederick August Alexander & Anna (Kyllonen) Kinnunen. He attended the Laird School and was a graduate of Baraga High School. On August 26, 1950 he married the former Ruth Maki in Pelkie and
they moved to L'Anse in 1959. Mr. Kinnunen managed Bill's Auto Parts later known as O.K. Auto in L'Anse from 1942 to 1982, he also worked for Sunburst Memorials of St. Cloud Minnesota as a sales representative since 1955. Fred enjoyed his foster children, driving the Shriners parade fire truck, riding his motorcycle and making pasty dough for the Shriners pasty sales. He was an active member of the United Lutheran Church in L'Anse, L'Anse Volunteer Fire Department, Treasurer of Boy Scout Troop #216 of L'Anse, Lutheran Brotherhood Branch Board, L'Anse Masonic Lodge 547 F & AM, Francis Moore Consistory of Marquette, Ahmed Temple, Bay Shrine Club, and the community prayer breakfast group.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Kenny Peter on August 2, 1971, an infant son, Peter and a brother, Ben Kinnunen.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth, son, Jim and Barbara Kinnunen of Negaunee, two daughters, Linda Kinnunen of Evanston, IL, The Rev. Bonny Kinnunen of Springfield, OH; one sister Lillian (Bart) Cady of Northville; two grandchildren, Sarah & Ken Kinnunen, aunt, Saimi Olsen of Hancock, nephew, Wally Kinnunen of Baraga. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held 11 A.M., Monday, March 12, 2001 at the United Lutheran Church in L'Anse with Rev. Margaret Grant to officiate.
Friends may call on Sunday, March 11, 2001 from 5 to 8 P.M., at the Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse and also one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. The L'Anse Volunteer Fire Department will have a service at 6:30 P.M. Sunday and the Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Spring burial will be held in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the United Lutheran Church of L'Anse.

Gordon T. DeHaas
WEST PARIS, ME -- Rev. Gordon T. DeHaas, 74, beloved husband of Bertha H.W. DeHaas, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 6, of a heart attack, at their home on Main Street.
Born in Marquette, MI on March 19, 1936, the son of Clyde T. and Vera Margaret (Jeffery) DeHaas. He married Bertha on November 30, 2000 at the West Paris Baptist Church. He had an extensive education beginning with grammar school school in Marquette, going on to graduate from St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in the Class of 1944.
From there he went on to Michigan College of Mining and Technology, graduating in 1948 with a degree in mining engineering.
Next he worked for several years until he felt called to be a Baptist minister, so he went to and graduated from the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philidelphia, PA.
Rev. DeHaas' first pastorate was in Maine, encompassing eight churches, Limerick, East Parsonsfield, South Parsonsfield, Ross Corner Church, North Shapleigh, South Limington, Shapleigh Corner and and North Waterboro. He also held pastorates in Ozakee, Cedarburg and Rhinelander, WI adn Quebec City, P.Q., Canada, prior to coming to West Paris five years ago.
He retired on Oct. 15, 2000, as clergy of the West Paris Baptist Church and the North Paris Federated Church. As well as being a Baptist minister, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, attaining the rank of 2ns Lt.
For a period of time, Rev. DeHaas and four others owned and operated the Brillion and Forest Junction Railway, out of Forest junction, WI.
He was a member of the West Paris Baptist Church, West Paris Senior Citizens, the Gray Beards Senior Group at the West Paris Baptist Church, West Paris Historical Society, the Masons, several railroad buss groups, the Ministers Council of the American Baptist Churches of Maine, the American Bible Society, served as a chaplain at Stephens Memorial Hospital, Norway, thw AARP, Marquette County Historical Society, National Association of Railroad Passengers, National Railway Historical Society and the Grange.
Rev. DeHaas was a friend, tried and true, a real true Christian who will be sorely missed by all who knew him and loved him, especially his wife.
Other survivors include an aunt, Louise DeHaas of Marquette, MI; several cousins; four step-children; 12 step-grandchildren; and six step- great grandchildren.
Kenton Michael Karmo
CENTREVILLE, VA -- Kenton Michael Karmo, 5 months old, of Centerville, VA, died March 6, 2001. Beloved son of Armah Karmo and Nicole Paquette- Karmo. Brother od Kesha Grobar, grandson of Armah Karmo and Maie Fredericks- Karmo and Michael and Lynn Paquette. Special friends Robin Borgesa dn Carol Monroe. Also survived by many loving relatives and friends.
Robert L. Cote
MARQUETTE -- Robert L. Cote, 64, of 753 Lost Creek, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at his home.
He was born March 9, 1936 in Marquette to Robert and Marie (Viljanen) Cote. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953-1956. Prior to retiring he worked in the oil fields in Texas and also worked on ore carriers on the Great Lakes. He loved the water and ships and enjoyed collecting light houses.
Robert is survived by a daughter Yvonne (Gary) Carney of LaPorte, TX, a son Robert M. Cote of San Antonio, TX, his mother Marie (Charles) Aho of AuTrain, two sisters, Elizabeth (Darwin) Tygersen of Arcadia, FL and Sharon Cote of Marquette, an uncle Leo Cote and aunt Eleanor LaMay, both of Marquette, a grandson Andrew Carney and a special friend John. He was preceded in death by his wife Emma.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2001 at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antoinio, TX. The Swanson- Lundquist Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Marie C. Russian
MARQUETTE -- Marie C. Russian, age 91, died on February 1, at the home ot her daugnter, Karen Smith, where she had lived for the past six years. She is survived by her son, John Louis Russian, her daughter Karen, 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grand children. She is preceeded in death by her husband, Frank and two sons, Walter and Conrad, and all of her siblings. Her remains will be buried along side her son, Walter, at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery, Montgomery, Alabama. A Memorial Mass will be held on March 17 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church Friends of the family may gather at 1320 High Street after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Lake Superior Hospice.
Richard Skewis
ISHPEMING -- Richard "Dick" Skewis, age 75, of 1110 N. Second St., Ishpeming died Friday March 9, 2001 at the Bell Memorial Hospital.
Richard was born February 15, 1926 to the late Herbert & Mary Lena (Willey) Skewis. He was a lifelong Ishpeming resident other than the time he spent in the United States Army during World War II. He was employed by the United States Postal Service at the Ishpeming Post Office for 30 years, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his cottage. Dick was a member of the Ishpeming Elks Club for over 20 years.
Survivors include a son Charles (Debra) Skewis of Ishpeming; a daughter Judith (Matt) Korpi of Rhinelander, WI; a brother Robert (Gwen) Skewis of Marquette; two granddaughters - Aimee Bentti of Tulsa, OK and Heather Gauthier of Colorado Springs, CO; a grandson Dylan Skewis of Ishpeming; a great granddaughter Jordan Bentti of Tulsa, OK along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty in 1990, two sisters and four brothers.
There will be no public visitation or services. A private memorial service for family will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.

John R. Kotel
ISHPEMING -- John R. "Toot" Kotel, 77, of 616 Cleveland Avenue, Ishpeming, and former Marquette resident, entered eternal life Saturday evening, March 10, 2001, at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming. He was born April 25, 1923 in Marquette, a son of the late Joseph and Helen (Vetkoski) Kotel, and was raised in Marquette. He served in the US Army during World War II, and following his honorable discharge, began an over 20 year employment as a fireman with the Duluth South Shore and Atlantic Railroad, which later became the Soo Line Railroad. He then worked for the Cliff Dow Chemical Company for a time before working for the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company at the Tilden and Empire Mines for 17 years, retiring in 1985. On June 14, 1947 he married Mildred Mabel Lemire in St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette, and the couple resided in Marquette until 1996 when they moved to Ishpeming. John was a member of St. Peter Cathedral and his hobbies and interests included playing the accordion, collecting railroad memorabilia, watching TV, and having his wife help him with the cutting of firewood. A devoted husband, father, proud grandfather, and brother, he is survived by: his wife, Mildred Mabel Kotel; a daughter, Beverly (Richard) Schaefer of Harvey; his grandsons, Jeffrey and Daniel Schaefer; two sisters, Sister Mary Suzanne Kotel of Fond Du Lac, WI, and Helen Mae Kotel of Munising; four brothers, Martin (Marilyn) Kotel of New Swanzy, Paul Kotel and James (Grace) Kotel both of Edenton, NC, Robert Kotel residing in Kansas; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John, was preceded in death by his sisters, Evelyn Carriere and Josephine Kotel; and brothers, Raymond, William, and Eugene Kotel. Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 14, from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Peter Cathedral on Wednesday afternoon at 1 pm with Rev. James Roetzer as celebrant. Burial will be made in the Park Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will follow in Cathedral Hall.
Robert H. "Muna" Harvala
ISHPEMING -- Robert H. "Muna" Harvala, age 68 former Ishpeming resident passed away Sunday, March 11, 2001 at the Jacobetti Michigan Home for Veterans in Marquette where he has resided for the past 5 years.
Robert was born August 14, 1932 in Ishpeming to the late Alfred & Jennie (Santaholma) Harvala. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict & was stationed in Germany. Returning home he worked for the Barnum Mine. Later moving to Aurora, IL & working for Caterpiller Inc.
Robert loved all sports & was a star player in the Aurora, IL Fast p itch Softball League, being the most valuable player at one time. Upon retirement he returned to his beloved U.P. where he enjoyed camp, sauna's, playing cards & the great outdoors.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Jack "Boika" and Dale Harvala, a sister Jennie "Myu" Juidici.
Robert is survived by wife Dolores of DeKalb, IL, sons; Robert Jr. of Aurora, IL, David of Wautoma, WI and Gary (Susie) of Sheridan IL, grandchildren Gary Jr. and Fawnia Harvala, a sister June Lummukka of Ishpeming, several nieces & nephews.
Upon his request there will be no public services. Inurnment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Barbara F. Kalbfleisch
MARQUETTE -- Barbara F. Kalbfleisch, 62, of 1943 Orchard Street, Marquette, entered eternal life Saturday evening, March 10, 2001, at her home. Born November 13, 1938, in Marquette, a daughter of Howard and Bernice (Dauphinais) Lemire, she was raised in Marquette, and was a lifelong area resident. Barbara was employed for over 28 years in the Food Service Department at Northern Michigan University, retiring on August 1, 2000. Barbara's family always came first and she enjoyed especially the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors and her hobbies included yardwork, camping, and going to the casino. A devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, and friend, she is survived by: her daughters, Laura Mangum of Harvey, and Vicki Reidy of Ishpeming; two sons, Michael Kalbfleisch of Negaunee, and Bryan Kalbfleisch of Marquette; her grandchildren, Damian Mangum, Kevin Reidy, Briana Rau, Anjelica Mangum, Aaron Kalbfleisch, and Timothy Kalbfleisch; two great-grandchildren, Autumn Reidy and Kijana Dixon; her mother, Bernice Lemire of Marquette; three sisters, Sandra (Claude) Smith of Rapid River; Deanna (Robert) Soli of Negaunee; and Deborah Havel of Big Bay; three brothers, Neil (Michelle) Lemire of Gwinn; Howard Lemire Jr of Marquette; and Wayne (Patricia) Lemire of Santa Rosa, CA; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; and her beloved friend, Larry Swanson of Big Bay. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, and a daughter Brenda Kalbfleisch in 1992. Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Thursday, March 15, beginning at 4 pm. Funeral Services will follow at 7 pm Thursday evening in the funeral home with Rev. Guy Thoren officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow in the hall at St. Christopher Catholic Church. Inurnment will be made in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
