"Say, friend, why don't you feed them part sawdust; they won't know the difference." In about a month's time the young man came around again, so he stopped in and asked the farmer how he was getting along and the farmer replied. I've done fairly well: I've got 2 chicks with wooden legs, one with a wooden wing and a woodpecker." —Ex. Miss Hall ( Zoology) "Helen, what is a fish's head like?" Helen Fisher. "Well, it isn't a man's head. It hasn't so much bone in it." Some German soldiers put up a sign over their trench with this inscription, "Gott mit uns.'' The English soldiers, not wanting to be beaten like that. put one over their trench with the inscription "We got mittens too." A certain Senior's famous saying, "I know it but I can't just say it." DECLAMATION TIME The freshie stood on the platform high, To give his little ditty. He looked so sad and so lonely, He had our symp. and pity. He looked around in a frightened way, Far and near for a friend. Then trembling paused and stuttered And mixed beginning with end. No sooner was it straightened out. Then voice completely failed him. His knees began to move about And things began to swim. He vainly looked around for help, But help was far away. His knees wobbly began to get And his body began. to sway. At last his voice returned again, But speech he quite forgot. And in its stead he only said, "Gee. fellows, ain't it hot." —HAROLD STARK '17.
