SHIELDS, WILLIS E. BILL; of Waterford; died November 10, 1999 at his residence; born March 10, 1925 in Cheboygan, MI; age 74; beloved husband of Lois Shields for 46 years, who he married April 25, 1953; dear father of Lorna (Bob) Sayles of Waterford; grandfather of Nathan Prater and Dylan Sayles, who lovingly called him Papa; brother of Shirley Coke of Hazel Park and Joe (Judy) Shields of Fenton. Mr. Shields was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army under General Patton. He was a skilled machine repairman and a jack of all trades, always willing to lend a helping hand until he suffered a massive stroke in August of 1992. He will be greatly missed by many loving relatives and friends. Mrs. Shubert had lived in Pontiac from 1957 1979 and was the manager of the West Side Lanes Restaurant in Pontiac from 1962 until 1978. She is survived by son, Norbert of Clarkston; daughters, Rose Chaput of West Bloomfield, Theresa (Frank) Ravitz of Alpena and Joann (Dale) Huggler of Alpena; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four brothers; three sisters; son-in-law, Damien Budnick and daughter-in-law, Eloise Shubert; preceding her in death were son, George; daughter, Marie Budnick; two sisters; and two brothers. Mrs. Shubert is at the Bannan Funeral Home, where friends may call on Friday from 2-9 p.m., where a Parish Prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. On Saturday, her body will be taken to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11 a.m., with Rev. She was born October 22, 1942 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Ronald Melvin and Ethel May (Davison) Dodds. On October 8, 1966 she married James F. Snyder in Dearborn, MI. She was a member of National Campers and Hikers Association and Sterling Heights Genealogical and Historical Society, Inc. She also participated in Neighborhood Watch at Chateau Avon. Mrs. Snyder is survived by her husband, James; two sons, Kenneth of San Jose, CA and Sean of Oak Park; two step-sisters, Kunnie (Clay) Briggs of Irving, TX and Margaret Walker of Denver, CO.
