HERMAN C. FEIGENSON, 89, of West Bloomfield, died Aug. 13, 2001. He was a treasurer for Faygo Beverage Company and a World War II Army veteran who served in France.
He is survived by his sister, Regina Becker of California; brother, Dr. Fred Feigenson of California; nieces and nephews, Sydelle and Dr. Sheldon Sonkin, Larry and Susan Becker, Rabbi Emily Feigenson and Dennis Perluss, Albert Feigenson; great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Feigenson was the beloved brother of the late Morton Feigenson, the late Albert Feigenson, the late Lazar Feigenson; the dear brother-in-law of the late Dr. Morris Becker, the late Jacqueline Feigenson.

EVELYN (STEIN) GOODMAN, 81, formerly of Novi of Brookline, Mass. died Aug. 13, 2001.
She is survived by her husband, Isadore (Tom) Goodman; daughters and sons-in-law, Ethel and John Anthony of East Lansing, Pamela Goodman and Michael Schwartz of Brookline; grandchildren, Jodi and Cori Anthony, Sam Schwartz. She was the dear sister of the late Jack Stein.
Graveside services were held at Temple Israel Cemetery in Wakefield, mass. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the local chapter of Hadassah.
HERBERT W. KAUFMAN, 76, of West Bloomfield, died Aug. 13, 2001. He was the president and CEO of Burns and Wilcox, insurance brokers with offices nationwide and chairman of H.W. Kaufman Finance. Mr. Kaufman was a member of Adat Shalom Synagogue, an honoree of Adat Shalom at the Jewish Theological Seminary dinner in June 2001 and established the Kaufman Nursery School Endowment Fund at Adat Shalom. In addition, he was past consul general of Panama, member of Tam O'Shanter Country Club, member of board of trustees Walsh College, and he established the Kaufman Athletic Fund at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. He was also a 33rd degree Mason.
Mr. Kaufman is survived by his wife, Flora Kaufman; sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Sue Kaufman of Bloomfield Hills, Steven Kaufman of Toronto, Gary Schwartz, Robert and Christine Schwartz; daughters and son-in-law, Judie Kaufman of Huntington Woods, Lynda and Douglas Thal; grandchildren, Jodie, Emily and Danny Kaufman, Loren and Daniel Thal, Brittany, Ellery and Aaron Schwartz; brother, Ben Kaufman of San Diego; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Allen and Sylvia Smaltz. He was the dear brother of the late Harry Kaufman.

STANLEY WEINGARDEN, 66, of Detroit, died Aug. 13, 2001. He was attorney of counsel at Barris, Sott, Denn and Driker. He was also a past president of Friends of Detroit Public Library, and he formerly taught tax law at the University of Detroit Law School.
Mr. Weingarden was one of the first chairmen of the Jewish Community Endowment Fund's Professional Advisory Committee. In addition, the was a member of the City of Detroit Income Tax Board of Review, past chair of the Detroit Bar Association Taxation Committee, member of the Michigan, federal and Detroit bar associations and of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. His religious affiliations included the Grosse Pointe Jewish Council and Bet Yam Temple of the Islands, Sanibel, Fla.
Mr. Weingarden is survived by his wife, Elaine Weingarden; son, Matthew Weingarden of New York; brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Helen Weingarden; sister, Marlene Bez. He is survived by his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Morris and Helene Last and Dorothy Last, and was the dear brother of the late Eugene Weingarden. JACK ZIDE, 93, of Farmington Hills, died Aug. 13, 2001. Prior to his retirement in 1980, he was founder, in 1943, and owner of Allied Film Exchange with offices in Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Indianapolis. Mr. Zide was the founder of the Detroit Variety Club, its past president and chief barker and was honored many times by the organization with various awards locally and nationally. He received the Spirit of Detroit Award and, in 1973, the Award of Appreciation by the National Association of Theater Owners.
Mr. Zide is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Arline Zide, Martin and Nancy Zide; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Joseph Brown; grandchildren, Larry and Sherly Zide, Debby and Martin Cohen, Richard and Erica Zide, Warren and Lisa Zide, Dr. Elizabeth Zide, Rachel Brown, David Brown and Jeffrey Brown; great-grandchildren, David, Brian, Justin, Jason, Danielle, Amy, Sydney; sister, Adele Yaker of California. He was the beloved husband of the late Sylvia Zide.

ROSE BORMAN, 95, of Detroit and Israel, died Nov. 25. Mrs. Borman was a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and served as a volunteer social worker during World War II.
Her activities in the Detroit community were widespread. She was president of the Detroit Chapter of the Denver League for Asthmatic Children, president of a chapter of Women’s American ORT, a member of both Congregation Shaarey Zedek and Adat Shalom Synagogue. In addition, she belonged to Hadassah and was a staunch supporter of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, the Jewish Friends of Hebrew University, Wayne State University and Yeshiva Beth Yehudah.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Murray Sheckter; grandchildren, Steven and Ilene Gilbert, Julie and Jim Cahill, Joanie and Roni Peled, Nancy and Doron Porat; 12 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Paul and Joyce Pensler, Gertrude Pensler, Frances Pensler, Irene Kraft Pensler. She was the loving wife of the late Nathan Weingarden and the late Abraham Borman; mother of the late Janet Gilbert; sister of the late Meyer Pensler, the late Leslie Pensler, the late Maxwell Pensler, the late Dorothy (Al) Kaufman. LILLIAN HERSHBERG, of Rochester, N.Y., died Nov. 25. She was a past president of the sisterhood of Temple B’rith Kodesh in Rochester. She was active in the auxiliary of the Power Squadron and on the National Council of the Girl Scouts of America.
Mrs. Hershberg is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Susan and Professor Martin Adelman of Southfield; nephews, nieces and cousins. She was the wife of the late Bertram Hershberg.
