Donald H. Wilson, age 79 of Holly died Sun. Jan. 20, 2008 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thurs. Jan. 24, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Burial will be in Rose Center Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Tues. and Wed. Mr. Wilson was born in Pontiac on June 20, 1928 the son of Crowell and Lola (King) Wilson. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy, where he played in a Navy band. He was retired from General Motors and was also an accomplished professional musician. Surviving are his wife Barbara; son Geoff Wilson of Fenton; daughter-in-law Deanna Wilson of Holly; 2 grandchildren, Leigh (Rich) Coburn of Holly and Shawn (fiancée` Kristin) Wilson of Traverse City; great-granddaughter Kayleigh Coburn; 2 brothers Bob Wilson of FL and Eddie Wilson of GA. He was preceded in death by 3 children, Bradford, Bruce, and Amy Wilson; sister Lois Alber; and daughter-in-law Denise Wilson. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois and passed on at Genesys Health Park. She taught at Holly Area Schools for 35 years. A long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Holly she served as choir director and organist for many years. She accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior at age 24 and served Him faithfully all of her life. She is survived by daughters Joy Georgia, Susie Cairns of California; a brother William Rance and sister Dorothy Bomar both of Michigan. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 21 at 3 p.m. at Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. A memorial service will be held on December 27 at 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Holly with Pastor Ed Pedley officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church, Holly, Ohio on July 18, 1935 the son of Ralph and Elizabeth (Lingren) Boyd. He was retired from GM after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Holly Lodge #134 F&AM and a member of the Center Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife Barbara; 2 children, Michael (Mary) Boyd of West Bloomfield and Teresa Brody (John Clark) of Holly; 4 grandchildren, Brittany and Bianca Boyd and Logan and Jesse Clark; sister Bernice Beebe of Holly; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife JoAnn Boyd and brother-in-law Skip Beebe. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the Center Hill Baptist Church, Center Hill, FL.
Harold J. Vollink, age 96 of Holly died Friday Nov. 23, 2007 at Genesys Convalescent Center in Grand Blanc. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, Nov. 26, 2007 at the Calvary United Methodist church, Holly with the Rev. Jeffrey Miller officiating. Burial will be at Olive Branch cemetery in Holly. Visitation will be Sat. 5-8 p.m. and Sun. 3-8 p.m. Mr. Vollink was born in Grandville, Mi. the son of John H. and Lena (Velekoop) Vollink. He was retired from the Ashland Oil Co. and was a past member of the Holly School Board. Harold was involved with the Young at Heart, Davisburg, Austin-Electa Chapter #396, Davisburg, Holly Hocks and Holly and Ortonville Historical Societies. Surviving are his wife, Alice (Sexsmith) Vollink; three children, James Vollink, Madison Heights, Patricia (Bruce) Harton, Holly, and David (Lola) Vollink, Croswell. Grandchildren; Daniel (Elizabeth) Harton, Michael Hartfill, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Harton, Sasha (Chad) Brown and Sarina Vollink. And 9 great-grandchildren. One sister, Angeline Kiper, and one sister-in-law, Mary Vollink. He was preceded in death by brothers, Gilbert (Arlene) Vollink, Russell (Ruth) Vollink, Willard Vollink, Nelson (Virginia) Vollink and brother-in-law Steve Kiper.Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, Holly.
