Thomas J. Elliott, age 73, of Fenton, died Thursday, April 24, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor M. Jean Love officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Mr. Elliott was born in Saginaw, MI on April 10, 1935, the son of Robert Paul and Helen (Zacharias) Elliott. He married Sandra (Reed) Elliott and was married for 47 years until her death in 2003. Recently he married Patricia Harrison of North Carolina. Tom graduated from Spring Arbor College with a bachelors degree. He worked for General Motors as a Skilled Trades Engineer for 42 years. Tom is also survived by 3 children, Thomas H. Elliott of Marquette, Donald J. (Vickie) Elliott of Holly, and Marria D. (Steven) Blinn of IL; 4 grandchildren; 1 sister Janet Cardassi of N.C.; 4 nieces; 3 nephews; and close friend Dave Barnette of Holly, MI. Mabel O. Barnes, age 90 of Holly died Sat. April 19, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thurs. April 24, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor M. Jean Love officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Wednesday. Mrs. Barnes was born in Detroit on Oct. 7, 1917 the daughter of Marshall and Odessa (Davis) Hadden. She and her husband Dub owned and operated "Uncle Dubs" Restaurant in Holly for many years. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church of Holly. She is survived by 3 sisters, Edith Ross of Holly, Velma Ressler of FL, and Helen Kish of Alaska; brother-in-law Ernest (Kate) Barnes of Fenton, sister-in-law Lee VanKuren of FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband W.J. "Dub" Barnes in 1995. Memorial donations may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church of Holly.
Shirley D. Ryden, age 85, died Friday April 18, 2008. She was the beloved wife of the late Norman Ryden and mother of Viva Breen, Lee (Denise), and Gary (Michele). She is also survived by her brothers Clyde (Jane) and Herbert (Barb); 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Shirley was a lifetime resident of Waterford and was known as an avid sports fan and Rummikub player. Her claim to fame was her wonderful baking that she shared with everyone. Her specialties were her Danish pastries that she handed out at Christmas and her summer rhubarb pie. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Visitation will be from 6:00 until the time of the service Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to the Michigan Humane Society.
Douglas D. Flood, age 54 of Braselton, GA formerly of Holly died Sun. April 13, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thurs. April 17, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Ed Pedley officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-9 P.M. Wednesday. Mr. Flood was born in Goodrich on Jan. 3, 1954. He was a meat cutter for almost 40 years and was a member of the New Hope Evangelical Church in Georgia. He was a dedicated father. He is survived by his 2 sons Jacob Daniel Flood and Courtney Garrett Flood both of GA; mother Alice (Clarence) Visser of Holly; sisters and brother, Beverly (Robert) Suski of Holly, Kristine (James) Brody of IL, Char (Keith) Krause of Holly, Janet (Bill) Staricha of PA, David (Dawn) Fisher of Holland, and Patricia (Thomas) Hancock of Fenton; and many wonderful friends in GA. He was preceded in death by his sister Donna Kernen, brother John Flood, and father Earl Fisher. Memorials may be made to Reunion With A Cause.
Ileen M. Harmon, age 87 of Holly died Mon. April 7, 2008. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Lakeside Cemetery, Holly with Pastor Ed Pedley officiating. Mrs. Harmon was born in Holly on June 10, 1920 the daughter of Sidney and Alice (Wiles) Skinner. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Mary (James) Buccinno of Holly; 6 grandchildren, Char, Laura, Jason, Josh, Marcie, and Charlie; 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Tom, sister Anna, and brothers Harold, Donald, and Kenneth Skinner. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Robert Michael Early, age 24 of Holly died Thurs. April 4, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 7, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Bob Benson officiating. Visitation will be from 4-9 PM Sunday. Robert was born in Pontiac on July 25, 1984. He was a member of the Holly Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and he loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. Surviving are his mother Kathy Danley and her husband Roger Phelps of Holly; father Robert Early of Lapeer; sister Kristina Early of FL ; and grandmother Joan (Ron) Grosser of Fenton, Memorial donations may be given to the family.
Lewis G. Striggow, age 84 of Holly died Thurs. April 3, 2008. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sat. April 5, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor M. Jean Love officiating. Military honors will be under the auspices of Amel Schwartz Post #149 American Legion and Hulet-Bravender Post #5587 VFW of Holly. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of the service. Mr. Striggow was born in Holly on Oct. 13, 1923 the son of Justin and Beatrice (Valentine) Striggow. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Marine Corp for 3 years. He was a member of Amel Schwartz Post #149 American Legion of Holly and was a Boy Scout Master for Troop #43 of Holly for many years. He is survived by his wife Lorilie; 2 sons, Steve Striggow of Holly and Jim Striggow of Fort Collins, CO. He was preceded in death by his brothers Don, Gene, and Bill Striggow. Memorials may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church of Holly.
Francis M. Brill, age 98 of Fenton died Thurs. March 27, 2008. Visitation will be from 2-8 P.M. Saturday at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 31, 2008 at Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sat. April 12, 2008 at the Fenton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3300 S. Holly Rd. Holly, MI 48442. Mr. Brill was born in Roscommon, MI on July 10, 1909 the son of Francis and Lottie (Brown) Brill He was an employee of the Old Chevrolet Plant in Flint for 17 years and then was self employed with Brills' Auto Supply of Fenton where he was an auto parts jobber. He was a Jehovah's Witness for 73 years, and he was a member of the Fenton Congregation where he is an elder. He is survived by his 2 children Sharon P. Aichner of Flint and Thomas L. (Niki) Brill of Fenton; granddaughter Terri R. (Jeff) Hawks of CA; and sisters Beatrice Thomas and Phyllis Chandler. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Laone M. (Carpenter) Brill, brothers Roy Brill and Arthur Brill; and sister Marjorie Rawson. Memorials may be made to the Watch Tower Society.

Mrs. Klukowski was born in Detroit on November 7, 1922 the daughter of James and Gladys (Wood) Harris. She was a member of the Walled Lake Missionary Church. Surviving are her husband Walter; daughter Deborah Hoig formerly of Milford; son Gary (Kathryn Fleming) Klukowski of Holly; 8 grandchildren, Todd Hoig, Jason Klukowski, William Hoig, Patricia Klukowski, Stanton Hoig, Ian Klukowski, Allison Van Every, and Todd Van Every; 1 great-grandson Ian Klukowski; and 2 sisters Norma Huntley of Brown City and Marilyn Hill of FL.
