Laura A. Rainey, age 47 of Holly died Sun. Dec. 24, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Fri. Dec. 29, 2006 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 4-9 P.M. Thursday. Mrs. Rainey was born in Winslow, AZ on March 29, 1959 the daughter of Lawrence and Donna (Ackerman) Archambeau. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Donald; 3 children, Donna Mae Carriveau of Allen Park, Donald Andrew Rainey of Fenton, and Racheal Anne Rainey of Fenton; 2 grandchildren, Trevor and Westley Carriveau; father Lawrence Archambeau of Fenton; sister Debbie Archambeau of Fenton; brother Larry (Sandy) Archambeau of Flint; and nephew Chad and niece Tracy. James D. Foley of Fenton, died Dec. 22, 2006 at Genesys Hospice Care Center, Goodrich. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thurs. Dec. 28, 2006 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Rev. Donald Neuville officiating. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-9 P.M. Wed. Jim was born May 1, 1955 to Daniel and Judy (McNie) Foley. He served in the US Army, was an excellent transmission rebuilder and lived in the Fenton area his whole life. To know Jim was to love him. He was a kind, funny, loving, and gentle soul who will be greatly missed by family and friends. He will remain famous for his jokes, stories, and "one liners". Jim loved horseshoes and surrounding himself with friends. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving grandmother Virginia McNie of Linden; brothers Richard Foley of Grand Blanc, Steve (Kelly) Smith of CO, and sister Patricia (Gary) Spangler of Fenton; nephews Garrett Evans and Justin Smith; niece Kadee Spangler; 2 very special aunts Carol (Ed) Anderson and Geraldine Estes; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jim also has 2 very special friends who love him dearly, Jane (Doe) Lefler and Gary Evans. He was preceded in death by his father Daniel Foley, mother Judy Smith, step-father Ike Smith; Grandfather Arthur McNie, Grandparents Victor and Mary Foley, and cousin Edwin Anderson. Mrs. Whittaker was born in Holly on Sept. 3, 1941 the daughter of Harvey and Ellen (Miller) Hawley. She was a loving mother, grandmother and dedicated friend who always put other people first. Surviving are 5 children, Camillia Whittaker of Holly, Milton Whittaker of Holly, Bruce (Karen) Whittaker of Fenton, Douglas (Jennifer) Whittaker of Fenton and Donald (Sara) Whittaker of Swartz Creek; 7 grandchildren, Patricia Jane, Kenneth, Kamaya, Brooke, Collin, Mikaila, and Alicia; 2 sisters Norma (LeRoy) Louchart of CA and Marguerite (Fred) Cupal of Fenton; 2 brothers Roy (Virginia) Hawley of CA and Robert Hawley of Grand Blanc; sister-in-law Nina Hawley of GA; and many nieces and nephews. MYRLE D. DEAN , age 89 of Holly died Wed. Dec. 13, 2006 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Sun. Dec. 17, 2006 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Bob Benson and Pastor Earl Zager officiating. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 3-9 P.M. Sat. Mr. Dean was born in Milford on June 10, 1917 the son of Darwin and Katherine (Pierce) Dean. He graduated from the Adelphian Academy in Holly in 1937. He married Anna Greavu in 1939. He worked the family farm in Holly for 80 years. After retiring in 1971, he worked for the State of Michigan Agricultural Statistics. He was a member of the Holly Seventh-Day Adventist Church and was active in church leadership. He was a friend to everyone. Surviving are his wife Anna; 2 daughters Peggy Hoffmeyer of Holly and Rosemary Ward of Fenton. Memorials may be made to the Adelphian Junior Academy.
James P. Murphy, age 58 of Holly died Mon. April 23, 2007. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wed. April 25, 2007 at St. Rita Catholic Church of Holly, with Father David Blazek, celebrant.. A memorial service wiil be held at 12:30 PM Fri. April 27, 2007 at the V.A. Center Chapel, Bath NY with military honors, and burial at 1:00 PM in the Bath National Cemetery, Bath N.Y. Mr. Murphy was born in Bath, N.Y. on April 23, 1949 the son of James and Patricia (McDonough) Murphy. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was the former Manager of the Village of Holly as well as for several other cities. He was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church. Surviving are 4 children, Christine (Jason) Schneider of NY, Margaret Murphy of PA, Mary (Josh Lemon) Murphy of Holly, and James Murphy of Holly; 2 grandchildren, Alexxis and Emily; parents James and Patricia Murphy of Bath, NY; brothers and sisters Stephen, Robert, William, Thomas, Kevin. Colleen, Mary, and Timothy; and his former wife Hope. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the family.
Warren Edward Blumenschein, age 70 of Winter Haven, FL, formerly of Holly died Thurs. April 5, 2007. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wed. April 18, 2007 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. He was retired from General Motors. Lester Eugene "Smittie" Smith, age 70 of Johannesburg, formerly of Clarkston and Flushing, died Sun. April 1, 2007 at home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tues. and 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Wed. Mr. Smith was born in Flint on Oct. 13, 1936 the son of Lester Wayne and Ruby (Small) Smith. He retired from the GM V-8 Engine Plant after 32 years of service in 1997. He also worked at the Flushing Valley Country Club for 15 years, was a member of the Flushing Fire Dept for 20 years, and was a member of the Timbertown Classic Car Club. Surviving are his wife Bonnie; 6 children, Barbara (Rick) Danison of KY, Lester (Linda) Smith of New Baltimore, Ruth (Ron) Stewart of Flint, Pam (Dan) Simmons of Clarkston, Bill Squires of Johannesburg, and Jeannie White; 8 grandchildren; and brother William Smith of Millington. Charles K. (Charley) Mills, age 96, of Imlay City, formerly of Holly went to be with the Lord Wed. March 28, 2007 at Marlette Extended Care and Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Sat. March 31. 2007 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Pamela Barnett of the West Goodland United Methodist Church, Imlay City, officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 1-8 P.M. Friday. Mr. Mills was born in Applegate, MI on Jan. 8, 1911. He married Zella Ulbrik on Sept. 9, 1944. Zella passed away in 1995. His only son James passed away in 1996. Charley enjoyed life to the fullest and especially enjoyed hunting. He owned and operated the Ortonville Lumber Yard for many years and was a life member of the Oakland County Sportsman's Club. He is survived by a granddaughter Jessica and great-granddaughter Leah of Louisiana; sister Louise Wiser of Imlay City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Ellen and brother Jack.

Mr. Sellers was born in Dora, Alabama on Jan. 4, 1948 the son of the late Joe and Maxie Belle (Wilson) Sellers. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart an was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was formerly employed as an LPN at Clinton Valley of Pontiac. Mr. Sellers attended the Carpenter's House of Holly and was a former minister with the Bethlehem Temple of Salem Township. He was a loving husband and father. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Jone; 6 children, Megan (Shawn) Williams of Pontiac, Joshua Sellers of Pontiac, Sara (Charles) Herring- Matthews with the US Army in Germany, Rachele Sellers of Davisburg, Caleb Sellers of Davisburg, and Cassandra (James) Salego of Holly; 11 grandchildren; 2 sisters Regina and Theresa; brother James Towns; and a host of nieces and nephews.
